4. Thanks for the video posts lads, helped. I had searched but must've missed those two.
 5.
Ok. This year is REALLY starting to piss me off. http://www.bbc.co.uk...t-arts-35499149
Yep. I think we're in for a few more shocks this year, a lot of musos are reaching a certain age. C'mon Reaper, take a break.
 6. Hi folks. I can get the main riff, but having a bit of trouble following the bass line during ; "It's already written that today will be one to remember" (first verse?) and; "Had to cry today" (second verse?) Apologies if I'm not explaining it very well, hopefully someone will understand. Any tips or advice please? Thanks
 7.
T-Shirt of the Year
WANT ONE!!!! Where from?
 8.
Who doesn't like him? You'd have to be a sad, bitter **** of a person to not like him.
I didn't. He demanded payment for Children In Need when all others gave their time for free. He shamelessly plugged artists and bands he had an interest in on his radio show. Sorry for any offence taken.
 9.
I'm sure I'm not the only bass player who has had the accusing glare followed by "Why weren't you playing in the verse" from a guitarist in Alright Now
I'm expecting this comment on Sunday.
 10.
I never wanted to be a bass player..... I wanted to be a LUMBERJACK
I thought you were so rugged!!!
 11.
Mi novia española tambien tiene problemas con su novio escoces.
That's easy for you to say.
 12.
Yes, that's right (although it's not formally forbidden...).
Ah, thank you, wasn't sure.
 13. I'll try to find my Going For The One 1977 tour tee shirt. Strangely no longer fits, shrank in the wash I think.
 14.
Yep what more do you need other than a good P
Not so frequently during the night. ('kin prostate!)
 15.
Edit: can I just add that for 30 odd years I only had the JV - then I found basschat.......
That rings a bell with me too! :-D
 16. Rumer's haunting "I Believe In You", (theme from Johnny English Reborn), is much more of a Bond theme. Ironic it's for a spoof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYLSo4AINUQ
 17.
Manfred has long been a fan of Springsteens writing and was his idea to cover the song. The 8s staccato piano motif was suggested by Mick Rogers who, by the time the song was recorded, had left the band (he rejoined in 1986, and is a member to this day). An interesting little factlet: Although the BBTL vocal was mainly Chris Thompson, Manfred thought it would be nice if Bruce himself appeared somewhere on the record, so the "Madman Drummers" vocal section towards the end was left clear for him. Even though Bruce was on the road, Manfred was able to get his hotel number and duly called... Manfred: "Hey, is that Bruce?" A very sleepy Bruce: "Y-e-a-h! Grrrmmph!" Manfred: "Err... don't worry... I'll, er... call back another time". Manfred never called back, and sang the part himself. BTW I joined the band in 1986 so played no part on that record.
I saw the band in London the night Ronald Raygun was shot, 30/03/81. Fantastic show, always liked Chris' voice. Fully agree that Blinded By The Light is a far better version than Springsteen's and so is I Came For You. Strange how my two favourite tracks are Springsteen covers, but also Patti Smith's version of Because The Night is far better (imo) than the original.
 18. This brings back memories of Junior Choice when I were a lad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W10ILSTzjA
 19.
I`ve just told my band I`ve ordered two of them. The silence is deafening...................
Not for long!
 20.
And in a proper glass - with dimples, and a handle, not one of those Yankee style overgrown straight sided milkshake glasses!
Not that lager stuff or pathetic yankee bud crap either, but real, manly, hairy chested ale. eg, Ol' Scrumpers Gut Bloater or Thrunkstons Navy Fleet Stiffer.
 21. The band I saw last night at Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds played almost all the songs mentioned in this thread. Great band with great enthusiasm so no complaints from me. Had to laugh when when they struck up with Sweet Home Alabama though and had thoughts of enraged Bass Chatters.
