1.
Bloody hell, was he in the car as well? Sounds like a great day was had - wish I could be that spontaneous!
Where I am, he is . Rhys ...just say "yes", it's that easy!
2. Ha ha! Two Floyd songs in your reply, I love it . Shame you can't go though.
3.
That has to be one of the funniest statements I've heard in a long time. Brilliant and made my day girls. Thanks Dave
I'm still laughing about it Dave. My team in work were suitably amazed at my day out. More of the same sounds about right. This is what weekends are for!
4.
Sounds like an excellent adventure!
xgsjx .... you can recreate this adventure very soon! All you need is a mate and a free afternoon. Brit Floyd are heading to Scotland ...
5. It was utterly brilliant,a "laughed all day / could't make it up" kind of road trip. Introducing Debs to Marcus Miller was another high spot. We do have a possible entry for the basschat famous quotes thread ... we were driving home talking about the virtues of fretless basses & I said that I'd like one. Debs felt she liked the security of frets to mark positions etc. I said I thought Id be ok having played double bass but that to help me I used a single piece of sellotape under my G string . Needless to say we did laugh just more than a bit . Rubbish bit is that I had 4 hrs sleep and I'm in work, someone else isn't AND either I need a new bass or hand transplants Cheers for a fantastic day and night.
6.
5 string basses are a tool of the Devil.
Sorry Spike, I too have a sensible one but Mr Rojas has a stunning example. For my punishment I shall have a large JD in a bbq I'm just off to.
7. When I saw Joe Bonamassa I was so torn between watching & listening to Joe or just watching Carmine and looking at his beautiful Xotic. Sensory overload ....
8. Let's face it ... we really shouldn't be with the regular listeners. We deserve so much more . When I saw Marcus Miller I remained very considerate to the regular listeners and, rather than ask them to stand up for me to go and take pics of his basses I climbed over two rows of seats . It's great!
9. Now come on ... everyone on here will just find this normal behaviour
10. Hi and welcome - come on, we need to see some pics! At least these two please ... Zon Sonus custom with spectacular spalted maple top & Alembic Stanley Clarke standard - gorgeous quilted maple Cheers!
11. Morning Mike , welcome on board. Very encouraging to see you've started acquiring basses in healthy numbers. Keep at it!
12. Hi Grim and welcome. I'm very much in the same category as you for bass playing but if applying Bert's ideas, I'm pleased to report I'm not yet a grown up. I can keep enjoying Chorlton &The Wheelies, Ren & Stimpy, The Goonies and other childish things with reckless abandon . Nice one!
13. Hi Mandy and welcome from a "used to play" double bass and recent convert to sideways bass . Enjoy !
14. I have and need just one bass but I want more - it's just bass lust taking hold . I think they are just so nice to have around, I could have loads if funds allowed. I would love a Fender Aerodyne in Gun metal blue next ...I bought a little practice amp to avoid moving my bigger one between rooms so really, one bass per amp makes sense
15. Shame I'm so far West or I'd have come to this. Would be a good fun I'm sure.
16. How long til we see some pics?
17. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Have a great trip to pick up your bass later today
18. Hi Marcus and your Warwicks, welcome on board. Guess I'd better join the guys and send you some xx's.
19. Hi Gwen & welcome to Basschat
20. He is pretty amazing. Love or hate what he does, he has above average skill, hope he does great things.
21.
Thats rather typical of Swansea, it's an angry place, i know, im from there. Saying that it wasnt like that in my day when we played the likes of the Singleton, the Cardiff arms Coach house etc proper music loving pubs, 2 of which are closed now of course..
Not sure if Swansea is an angry place but I think that people will let you know how it is. Off topic kind of but there is a real need for pubs like this, nothing quite like The Coach in the area now. Quite a few pubs that don't seem to clean (at all) but no real music venues. I quite like The Vault but there are far too many venues who just can't cut it and give the real pub feel. Not sure I'll be rushing to Americano which from reading the customer's letter and the response from the business seems a little confused in its identity. Not pleasant for the diner who was clearly too close to the band and not ideal for the band with little room to play regardless of how many times they've played (or not).
22.
Me too...all you've got to do is put a note up at the Cardiff City Football club that you are holding a free concert there. There won't be any venue after that when you don't show :-)
23. Very nice indeed!
24. Mel is great to deal with, buy with total confidence. Very happy with my teeny weeny little practice amp. Cheers!
