Thanks for your reply -it does say that it has a built in compressor.. When I called Ashdown just before ordering I mentioned that I was considering the amp I ordered or the Mini Stack. The guy I spoke to discussed both types and said that Thomann had bought in bulk some of their MAG combos. What I didn't expect to receive was an amp that reads T15-250S Limited Edition on the front yet still has its original MAG 300 labelling tied to the top. I've played again today and messed around with different settings and love this amp so no matter what it's called, I love the sound and price. Nice one Thomann / Ashdown - happy days indeed

The amp arrived in pretty good time considering the Bank Holiday (grrrrrrr ) and I LOVE IT . Just a little confusion though, I amp I ordered was the Ashdown I mentioned above [url="http://www.thomann.de/gb/ashdown_t15250s.htm"]http://www.thomann.d...own_t15250s.htm[/url] but when it arrived, the tag on the amp read " MAG 300 EVO II Bass Combo" . I'm not complaining of course ..... I am definitely happy with my choice. Glad you're happy with yours too, hope the rain stayed away for your audience to appreciate your amazing sound

I went and loved it. It was the first time I'd seen MM and would have usually have been the first to have stayed until the bitter end but I was feeling pretty awful and thought it best to get home as soon as ticketed event finished. Shame I missed the extra special show at the hotel and that I didn't get the chance to meet up with an BC'ers - will pay attention to threads like this in future. When I spoke to Ashdown they did say that I could add a cab but I have absolutely idea about the other stuff you've added. This is where I need guidance from you guys. At the moment my audience comprises of a jack russell and a greyhound so I don't think I need to be worrying too much about larger gigs for a quite some time .I'll give you a shout when my moment in the sun arrives Thanks again . Hi Neil Thanks very much for your input. I've finally made a decision [b]AND[/b] placed an order at last! I decided not to go with GK as most of the stuff I listen to doesn't have the GK kind of tone so I've decided to get an Ashdown. I couldn't decide which so I called them and they were very helpful. Given my budget (wanted to spend £250 max), the fact that a warranty was important to me plus I wanted to be able to use the amp should I want to gig in the future the suggested that one I'd seen on the Thomann website would be ideal. It's one of their MAG combos that Thomann bought in bulk so has been given a different model number. Thanks for the heads up on the email lessons - I'll def take a look. There was a slight accident here last night, the glass shelf on my tv unit shattered. Might be time to adjust the volume when I'm practising , I did have a laugh though . I might get some face to face lessons, think it's a good way to start after such a long break. Sure is a minefield looking for amps (especially when they can cause domestic devastation!) Deb

Thanks very much for the welcome. I will keep an eye out as I'm so delighted with the ultra gorgeous bass I bought via this forum . I've not picked up a bass for 20 odd years (prev played a double bass) so I'm now well and truly hooked once again. (The practice exercises in the "Teach Yourself" book and DVD are flippin awful!) I've borrowed two amps (a Laney RB3 and an old Fender) so I'm spoiled for choice but want to get something sorted pretty quickly. Many thanks once again

This is the perfect thread as I'm looking for exactly the same thing. I've narrowed down (I think ) to this combo based on good reviews of the GK brand and MB115 model and the incredibly light weight of the range. I've also looked at similar used ones and see that they hold their value well so I'm quite wary of spending around the £150 - £180 mark plus fuel costs or carriage and then having no warranty. I have absolutely NO experience of this kind of stuff so I'd really appreciate your comments. Thanks
