11. Hi dave I hope you or any other knowledgeable bods can help me, ive just bought a groove tubes 12ax7 to replace the one in my EBS td 650, i took the top of and the old valve seems t be in a plastic holder on a circuit board and i cant get the valve out at all, and i dont want to get too rough, i had an swr amp years ago and i replaced the valve in that, it just slipped out, but this ones a bit sturdier. If you know of a special knack with these things, id really appreciate some advice, mind you itll prob be safer to find a local tech. many thanks- lee
  12. PM,D LEE I have a Gator 3 Unit lightweight rack case in good condition. Looking for £40 including postage. I've owned this from new. Some very minor marks but nothing serious. Latches work fine and comes with all original screws. Although less depth than a standard rack it will house most modern amps such as EBS, Edens, Markbass. Don't have a picture of actual item at the moment so click the link for a stock picture and specifications. 13. Heard about those, were do you get them in the uk cheers- lee I use Power Bugs. Boutique batteries FTW
14. Nice Met terry k he bought my qtron , nice bloke, know what you mean about johns tech cab bit of a trek to toon if your both not happy, heard tons of great stuff about the bergs though will hopefully try at some point. enjoy the tone mate- all the best -lee Hi Lee, I sold the cabs to the first person who got in touch and kept in contact. There were 8 people interested! I wasn't sure if I should go for Warwickhunt's Tech cab but the distance and logistics involved, combined with the fact that we may not like each others gear made it a no go. I've gone for TerryK's Bergantino IP 310. I went to try it last week and it's very nice. Cheers Steve.
Octaver

Hi I use the EBS octaver its absolutly fantastic, but it does jump your volume up a wee bit when you switch it on, it has three modes which emphasise certain frequencys, but i always just use the mid setting, i used a boss oc 2 for years and loved it, totally diffrent sound a lot more synth like, but doesnt track that well low down but IMHO the EBS doesnt track that well past low c but i always play up really high when i use it. there is a boss oc 3 but ive no experience with that. all the best- lee Hope someone can help - I have the Pearl OC-07 that can be heard here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgkO85Jp-6o I want an up to date pedal as a replacement to use so I don't have to risk losing this one on gigs - can anyone advise something to try that's similar. I've had no joy whatsoever to date with any incarnation of the Boss pedals I've tried, and hope there's something out there. Thanks!
16. just as a matter of interest would this fit a warwick streamer jazzman 5 Kind regards- lee
  17. Hi john So did the td650 surprise you, i love that head, ive played a lot of diffrent stuff through it and always been happy (oh and it sounds great for slap ) red off to the docs next week, had to wait a month for my local tech to be available very busy man to quote jimmy saville, may be having a trip home next month, will let you know. all the best, love the wall of rigs-lee WoT had the camera, rslaing looks comfortable with a 6 string SEI and... I have hair Must say it was a blast but 3 hours just flew by Revelations... at least for me All basses should have LEDs My Tech cabs eats wattage Schoeders are cleverly designed and eat cabs EBS TD650's have a lot more tonal variation that I imagined 4ohms is 'significantly' different to 5.3ohms regardless of sensitivity WoT should never be let loose with round-wounds I'll get up tomorrow morning and have given this some serious thought. Cheers RL & MB
18. Hi there you,ve seriously got my attention, ive been thinking of selling my EBS td 650, and buying a small power amp to use with my EBS microbass 2 as i only do small gigs so im looking at downsizing and having a little extra cash to put toward other stuff, this looks just what i need, but ive just looked at the acoustic image website and it quotes the power rating at 800 watts in 4 ohms , your ad states 600 is yours an older model? hope so as my cabs are rated600 watts in total so dont want to blow them up (mind you at the level i have to play) it would also depend on a quick sale of my own amp of course. let me know the specs, while im wrestling with my love of ebs ha ha. all the best- lee
  19. Hi steve I too was born left handed, but due to rigorous torture, training, and the reluctance of my dad to ruin a perfectly good guitar by stringing it the wrong way round (the swine doesnt even play ) i now play right handed and im even treat like a normal person, and dont get funny looks on stage ha ha anyway back to the script, i really wanted these cabs, you,ve not had them long what are you after now???? ive got the tens as you know and they are fantastic really love em would have preffered the 12;s though, just about to put a massive deposit on a house so buying gears a huge no no at the mo otherwise i would have them and prob sell the tens ( enough power for an aguilar db 750 then! the tens are,nt powerful enough, work great with the EBS though). A huge bump for these amazing cabs whoever buys them will be very happy bunnies, let me know what your next rig is mate, all the best- lee
  20. Hi mark How are you mate? if your selling this whats next on your shopping list then, something nice ill bet. By the way ebs cab gone now have 2 accugrooves very happy All the best mate- LEE Thanks for the comments.
22. Hi everyone Ive looked on the watford valves site, but to be honest they might as well be speaking in japenese, lots of nice little glass things which can transform a sound, but i must admit ive used hybrid amps for a while now, but never really delved too much into what makes valves tick. i did replace a groove tubes in my old SWR head for a mesa boogie one and i must admit i did notice a slight change, (a bit thinner sounding IMO) but nothing drastic, i do think its more important in all valve heads(which ive never tried, but im very curious ) very interested to hear about the NOS mullard not getting on with the EBS, as ive been reading lots of positive reviews of these( but not the price )but it doesnt surprise me. Will def call bernie goodfellow though as he's the authority on the EBS stuff, and im sure he'll stear me in the right direction, im always on the lookout, to slightly improve my tone (should really just work on my playing ha ha ) thanks again guys for your replies most appreciated- LEE Have you looked on the Watford valves site? They've got just about everything, including cryogenic treated valves which apparently sound amazing. Does anyone know what happened to the sticky that compared different valves? It seems a shame its not on here anymore seeing that someone put a lot of time into it. Good luck in your search for perfect valve tone. Cheers Just
23. Hi everyone Thanks for your replies, my EBS can actually run as solid state as well, so not sure if the valve is in the pre amp as such but can be switched in and out as required, which you couldnt do with my old SWR, i do like a bit of valvey goodness though as it adds a bit of life and warmth to the sound(especially to the EBS which is very clean) i do fancy the groove tubes though i let you all know if it makes a difference (especially to my cloth ears ha ha ). Thanks again guys-LEE
  24. HA HA!! Your right, and ive never been accused of having golden ears!!!!, if they fit my warwicks then i might give them a go, thanks again mate most appreciated, let me know when your playin you live in oldham dont you? not a million miles away. cheers- lee
Cheers mate!! Thanks for the heads up, i dont need em for my pedals,i did hear they were bigger, do they fit in your warwick ok?, thats what i want them for, my jazz is active too, im pretty certain they wont fit in the battery compartment i had fitted. Ive also read they give a cleaner sound due to increased headroom, is that true? id imagine they just keep a consistent tone longer. Thanks again- LEE They fit fine in the Dolphin and my Reggie Hamilton Jazz. They don't fit in things with the swivel type battery compartment as far as I can see. Regarding a cleaner sound, I can't say I've heard any difference. 9V is 9V I would have thought although I'm sure some "golden ears" nerds will swear blind that they can hear an improvement.
