  1. Have been trying pressurewounds too lately, very comfortable indeed. Chromes are my go-to. If you're looking at pure rounds I think you'll generally find Nickel less abrasive than stainless steel, especially when new!
  2. https://www.f-itsfeedbackblockers.co.uk Had some of these made, utterly bang on and have been a lifesaver at times!
  3. I'm sure a location would help get you a sale here!
  4. I believe average is about 12 weeks at the moment. The bodies and neck come from Allparts but the guys really seem to have a knack for making them sing... the tone is there acoustically and plugged in they sound awesome. Big fan here!
  5. @EBS_freak I think that's my logic... for me it's really important to be as easy to handle as possible at a gig and require as little as possible form the engineer, but I'd always rather have a general/Sub mix in the board than just bass, makes a huge difference. At the moment I run my IEM mix through the Wodjer. A built in rack that is rigged up to send my one mix on to the floor with no faff and in a small package is an absolute ideal solution! With the Eich board I was using I powered it with my Aguilar and may as well have just brought an amp and cab instead... That said a pedalboard sized unit is a very cool idea too!
  6. I'd definitley agree with the Half-Rack idea... It's going to be playing with IEM systems so it may as well be compatible! If you're running a Sennheiser unit for instance, it should be possible to run one of it's 'thrus' into the amp! All self contained then.
  7. @peety I was wondering who got that one... I still have the pics on my phone from when I went and played it, and then deliberated too long! Awesome bass!
  8. I'm certain I've had a play on this one... it's an awesome instrument!
  9. @eude from what he said on the NAMM videos it was around $7k on the masterbuilt and $5k for the factory made versions of his 5 string, and around $2k for the new double cut... affordable is a vague word!
  10. Have a look at SC Relics... am currently talking to him about a Limelight/SC hybrid, maybe there's something to be done there!
  11. Yup! I've used these for both recording and live with a two notes IR loader. Live I found it's a bit of a mission to work with and get to cut through, but for fixing live recordings it's been very handy indeed!
  12. Very comparable I'd say...although personally I preferred Limelight relic'ing but it's a matter of taste! Do you have a era/colour in mind? I can see if if he's ever sent me any photos similar (I've been looking after his instagram!) The three I've had so far... another on the way so I may be biased!
  13. Having used both, I'd personally highly recommend going with Limelight basses... cheaper, UK built and outstanding!
  14. Cheers @kristo, hadn't spotted that! Will probably order one...seems like a bit of a wait so if anyone here has one in the meantime let me know!
  15. I've just bought a battered 2002 CIJ mustang bass with a broken scratchplate... I'll either need to buy one or get one made! Firstly does anyone have a spare they'd like to sell me (Pref Tort but open to options!) 2nd and 3rdly would anyone with one either be willing to do me an accurate trace and send to Jack's in Manchester, or even better send an actual plate! Apparently they are different from any American ones? Any assistance much appreciated!
  16. Tentatively up for sale as I have a project on the mind! Mark at Limelight has had a good look and we're looking at early 1973 with all original pots/wiring etc. Apparently the pickup was moved back in late '72, and it certainly makes the bass more versatile than the earlier models I've played, a little more Precision in character. 30" scale. A few reversible modifications included to make this bass more gig friendly, this being the Hipshot Supertone bridge allowing for far better intonation/action adjustment, and Ultralite tuners which have alleviated all signs of neck dive. Bridge is a drop in replacement and tuners have been done so that any sign should be covered up by originals, should you wish to refit. Currently fitted with GHS Pressurewounds, but will have D'addario Chrome Flats included. Dunlop Straplocks and a nice wide strap. Reunion Blues semi hollow guitar case which is a good fit and offers a lot of protection. Would much prefer for the bass to be seen in person before sale, am in Bournemouth and happy to meet within reason. Could ship if truly necessary.
  17. All prices including postage, based in Exeter/Bournemouth for potential collection! MXR M81 Bass Preamp, boxed, £105 SOLD TC Polytune Mini 2 Noir £45
  18. Hey @Jack this one didn't I'm afraid! That said I believe I have the appropriate rack ears in my locker and will happily include them if I do!
  19. Black Alder Sire P7 Active 5 string... I think I have to accept that I'm at my happiest with just 4! This one has been fitted with Nordstrand pickups (NPJ5FS Hum Cancelling), black metal knobs, and had the finish on the neck taken down just a little, not so much you'd notice anything has been done but so it's not quite as thick and glossy as it came. Currently fitted with Curt Mangan coated 45-130. Original Pickups and Knobs included. A little wear showing around the back/bottom as pictured, but overall very good condition. Preamp set flat is identical to pre-amp off, ideal if you want to be switching between two tones. Gator Transit Gigbag now included. Happy to package up for courier but collection from Bournemouth obviously more fun!
