  1. Spot on, super quick and an absolute pleasure!
  2. PJB Super flightcase with Roqsolid cover. These things are super clear and accurate but you can dial in a significant amount of the super-low stuff too! Up-firing speakers are ideal for when you have to be in tight confines and above your amp. Based in Exeter but travel around a bit, can likely courier if need be. No trades at the mo! Spec: 250w RMS digital amp 6x PJB NeoPower speakers Bass reflex 5-band EQ Optical limiter Effect loop Dimensions (WxHxD) : 320 x 525 x 200 mm Weight: 15 kg ; 33 pounds
  3. I'm hoping there may be some experience here! I'm getting a Kent Armstrong magnetic pickup fitted to my bass. I'm also looking at trying Evah Pirazzis soon, so I'm interested to know whether anybody knows if they will work with a magnetic pickup, or if anyone happens to have an old set they wouldn't mind me borrowing/buying cheaply so that I could see what happens?
  4. Line 6 G30 Wireless system with leather pouch and silent cable £80 Posted Khan Tube DI (SVT DI) £310 Posted These were made for Ampeg for a little while as the SVT DI, and the maker now puts them out as the Khan DI. The Amp output is also coloured by the tube section. Still my favourite stand alone DI, but I now have a Noble for the extra features (at extra cost...!). No trades at the mo!
  5. Ha yes indeed! I've seen you pairing up seekers with sellers alot, it's very much appreciated!
  6. Great stuff, thanks! He really doesn't seem to want to go down that route himself, but I think I'll end up putting it in place for him!
  7. Afternoon Limelight lovers! Having just picked up my third from Mark, I'm now also in charge of the official Limelight instagram account, and will be looking for LL porn to shown off the job they do! Would love any pictures you think are worthy of getting Limelight some attention... @Hutton, @wateroftyne & @Marius I've spotted some blinders from you if you're happy for me to use them? Search @limelight_basses or click here https://www.instagram.com/limelight_basses/ to find the page. As of today, here's my collection:

  9. @EBS_freak fair point about 2.4... there's no shortage of reviews of the two I'm looking at that report dropouts, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's just a sign of the times rather than issues with the units! Never had an issue with my G30, I wonder if it's because it runs on rf1 instead of rf2 as the modern ones do? I guess my temptation to change is partly due to the idea of having something a little more professional especially now my gear is handled by others some of the time, and the idea that, with something like the G70 I can have 2 wireless electric channels plus a wired upright going straight to the built in DI, all through the tuner etc.... Whether it's worth just holding off and seeing which way things develop I don't know! The stageclix doesn't really look up to the job if I'm honest! Smooth hound seemed like a nice piece of kit but I never found the form of either part to be as functional as my G30, and a friend has had real dropout issues with his. Especially interested to know if anyone has tested the quality of the G70s DI output...
  10. Afternoon all... I've been using my trusty G30 for around 9 years with no issues whatsoever. I've been looking at some of the new generation Shure and Line 6 units, and there's plenty of conflicting reports on all. I was wondering what experience anyone here has with the Line 6 G70, Shure GLX D (pedal version). I don't really have any problems with my current system, and may well just get a 2nd transmitter, but I love the tuner/output capabilities of some of the new units. Open to others but must be board friendly. Went down the Smooth Hound route and it wasn't for me! Don't ever need to wander very far, but do like the freedom and gigs range from tiny pubs to festivals of 10,000 or so. Any help much appreciated!
  11. MONO Bass Sleeve in Ash, has been storage for my P bass but rarely been out of the house! Good condition, a few marks where the tuners have been but nothing significant. £100 posted in the UK, or collection from Exeter.
  12. @Ghost Rider Acted as the gopher for my Spectracomp to get to a friend of his... well recommended friendly Basschatter!
  13. Funnily enough The Who well and truly use screens and baffles over everything these days to protect his hearing!
  14. In my other (6-string) life, I run pretty much the same as half the rig above... a Divided by 13 40w head and 2x12. I also use the screen on every gig, mic'd or unmic'd. 2 reasons.... I can pretty much run the amp at the same volume on any gig, which means consistency, these amps sound and behave very differently through the range of volume, and even on half-power the volume knob goes between nothing and 'too much!!!' very quickly. It also means that what the audience hear is more similar to what I'm hearing, and stops the front row from being hit by the harsh beam of the speakers. I haven't been asked to turn down in many years.... The idea of these shaped screens is that you never have a panel parallel with the speakers, and avoid right angles... so you should be able to avoid much reflection. At a guess this was the Beth Hart gig @spectoremg? You'd have seen a few friends of mine doing the support slot!
  15. Hey @nash where are you based?
  16. TC Spectracomp, currently loaded with a slightly edited version of Nathan East's toneprint to try and match my Cali76. Boxed and delivered.

  18. Hey @Rainbass, it is indeed! I'm not sure how to quantify its volume...any ideas?
  19. If it wasn’t sold that’d be a cracking idea, but...Sold! Thanks for interest and offers of assistance!
  20. Not 100% sure on weight but my limelight is just over 8lbs and this is pretty much the same... don’t think it will have any problem being set up low... isn’t high now for sure!
  21. @flippyfloop tomorrow funnily enough but I haven’t got the bass with me! I can post if need be!
  22. This one started life as a Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz. The body has been refinished in a thin Lake Placid Blue and aged slightly, along with the neck being vintage tinted. The pickups are an Aguilar 60's Jazz set, and the hardware and wiring has all been completely replaced with vintage-spec stuff and the whole thing shielded. Put together for one flying job, but I'm really a P-bass nut and have something else coming from Limelight! Currently strung up with Dunlop Superbrights. Will replace the strap lock buttons with vintage style before sale. I don't have a case/bag for this, but I'm sure I can arrange it to be packed well my the local shop if postage is required. a meet would be best though! I'm bouncing between Exeter and Bournemouth over the next few weeks, and may have some London trips.
