1. New Daylight Photos have been added to the first post
Now that is a proper ad Shockwave! Good luck with the sale
Cheers dude
 2. Hey guys! This is a relist of my Pedulla MVP5 bass, i felt that the ad needed an update with all new photos and description as the previous one is a bit out of date now. Due to numerous tyrekickers and dreamers i have decided that all of my future bass adverts will follow this standard pattern, which honestly portrays every aspect of the bass to help make sure there is no ambiguity, so my time and your time is not wasted. This might seem a little impersonal, but it is for the best! I have just cleaned the bass up with some nice polish and fingerboard cleaner. The bass looks much nicer then in the previous photos. These photos are a little dark, so dont hesitate to ask if you want more taken during the daytime. Description Here we have a mojoed example of a Pedulla MVP5, custom shop bass, circa 1990, the retail on these basses are over £3000. It was purchased within the USA, where the original owner used it continously for many years before selling it on to a guy called P0K on talkbass (The guy is a well respected member and creator of the Pedulla fan club there) He sold it on to Pobodys Nerfect on Basschat, from him the bass came to me. According to the bathroom scale the bass weighs 9.5lbs. Specification This example is black with chrome hardware, neck-thru with a Schaller 3D bridge, dark ebony fingerboard, replaced tuners (marked as made in Japan), factory fitted brass nut, Bartolini P/J pickups with a 9volt NMTB electronics which were recently replaced by Micheal Pedulla himself. The Pre-amp has Volume, Balance, Bass, Treble controls and a Mid boost switch. The bass also includes a Pedulla hardcase. Functionality The electronics, Jack socket and truss rod has no issues whatsoever and are fully functional. The neck is straight as an arrow. Playability This bass is setup for me personally, this is a very personal unique setup which some people may not like, this includes an incredibly low action, ultra light stainless steel strings (110-30) which are tuned B to G. However the bass has plenty of leeway in truss rod adjustment and Bridge saddle adjustment so the new owner can personalise the bass with their own setup with NO problems. Sounds The bartolinis are a good mix of polite Hi-fi jazz and more rockin' P pickup. Mixed together can produce a wide variety of tones. I have used it in very heavy metal bands to funk/jazz bands and havent felt terribly out of place with it. Condition The bass has been toured with extensivly at somepoint in its life, as you can see from the photos there are numerous patchs of paint missing and holes in the headstock where the old tuners used to be. The neck thru wings have shrunk due to the drying of the wood in its life. This can be seen in the photos, this is a very common feature in older Pedullas, it has no effect on the basses structural integrity or playability. None of the chips on the bass have gone through the wood, they are all paint chips. There is a small dent on the headstock which has gone through but is very minor and i can barely pick it up on the camera. There is very little fretwear at all. Price/Trades The price is £850 FIRM. The only trades i would consider on this bass is a Musicman Stingray/Sterling 5, such as a limited edition, special colour, piezo or graphite necked models. Part exchanges i would consider on this bass would be a standard Musicman Stingray/Sterling 5 string with maple fingerboard and £100. I may consider 4 string Musicmans and bongos on a case by case basis. I may also consider other 5 string basses that are not Musicmans, but is highly unlikely. Payment method Cash or Bank transfer. Delivery I can offer postal delivery of the bass as long as the cost is met by the buyer, the bass will be sent the day after payment is received. I can offer a hand delivered service to your nearest major train station for the same price as postage would have cost, however this offer is only available to people willing to meet within 200 miles of Bristol. You can also pick up the bass locally in Bristol. Where you can try it out through my Ampeg rig. Other information The Pedulla requires a special truss rod tool, which can be bought from mansons in Exeter online and any other Pedulla dealer. I only have one and require it for my fretless Pedulla. However if needed i can demonstrate that the truss rod works 100% in this bass using my tool before purchase. Older photos of the bass before cleaning but in better light are available in the old thread HERE If you require any other information or specific photos of the bass, please let me know either by PM or my E-mail address [email protected], My number is also available for serious buyers. Photos
 3. Or save yourself some money http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=74521
 4.
Looks like i'll be back in the club come the end of the weekend! Though its a rosewood board
Welp, looks like i wont be getting a musicman now
 5.
i thought you were modifying this?
True, but it would take quite a bit of time and money i dont have to do. If i did get it modded and decided to move it on later i wouldnt get that money back. I'd rather just get a stingray then modify a bass into something its not.
 6. Welp, was being traded out but the other party pulled out.
 7.
BUT, "If a custom shop bass has alot of wear and tear (and no deep cracks etc) I would generally think its because it was such a good bass, the owner couldnt put it down, imo that is a sign of a very good instrument." I'm sorry but I think that's absolute nadgers. The odd ding and scratch I can understand, but I can't see why any instrument should end up looking like it's spent six months in the Gorbals because someone "loved" it.
We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. The only othe conclusion in my theory is that maybe the player doesant have anymore money to spend on a different instrument hence the wear and tear. However, every instrument i have played on with "Wear and tear" and general scratches and dents (like the Pedulla) has been an absoloute player. If something is more then a year old and hasent got a scratch or dent or any sort of play wear, i immediately get suspicious to its playability. Whether its me just being paranoid well.... meh.
 8.
I see basses, some expensive ones, in the For Sale section that have so much major cosmetic damage that I wonder if the previous owner lived in a skip. I can't believe how some people treat their instruments! There's one up there now (I won't say which) that's a beautiful bass, but it's got massive dents in the neck, scratches and dents all over the body, crap and dust, you name it. We are not talking vintage here, we're talkin bout a young expensive bass that looks like it's come back from a stint in Helmand Province. What the F**K do they do to them?? God only knows what their bedsits look like. I don't really know why but it makes me angry. I don't like people who have no respect for things, I make assumptions they treat people and animals like that too. Is it me being very judgemental as usual? or do I have a point?
If your talking about my Pedulla (Which is now 20 years old, so probably not the bass your talking about), it now has a new owner because some people can look beyond the looks of a bass. The previous owner who had it before me made all of the wear it has, its been well loved and well played. If a custom shop bass has alot of wear and tear (and no deep cracks etc) I would generally think its because it was such a good bass, the owner couldnt put it down, imo that is a sign of a very good instrument. Now if there were deep cracks and obvious headstock reglues then i would say that was neglect, if it was paint chips, fret wear then i would say it was probably a damn fine bass and its gathering marks that playing bass can get you. For the record i do prefer new looking basses if i bought them new, if i bought them second hand i will buy it if i think the wear/damage is acceptable and if the price reflected the use. I would never have got the Pedulla in the first place if it didnt have damage as i could never have afforded it! Rob.
 9.
Was oh-so tempted to this, but can't justify another P-Bass. Have another bump for a nice bass & a nice chap.
Cheers dude! I have had pitifully few offers i have to say! Other things i would consider would be an Japanese Ibanez ATK (Straight swap) Or a Korean ATK (Part ex with money my way) Or Gold P bass parts (part ex with money my way)
 10. Looks like i'll be back in the club come the end of the weekend! Though its a rosewood board
 11. Oh i have a video myself playing it akin to the P bass one i put in the P-bass thread. Available on request! But is so embarrasing i refuse to put it up publicly!
 12. THAT IS GORGEOUS.
 13. Really lovely jazz but the scale length is a bit too much
 14. I have now pruned the thread of the comments, posts containing the quote of the comment and subsequent replies. The poster of the comment has been warned. Please keep it clean, the guy is selling a nice bass. Cheers. Rob.
 15.
Squier Katana 6 string?
Only basses sorry.
 16.
Can you post this?
Yup though i have no case or gig bag, i would have to unbolt the neck, i could also personally deliver (for the price of postage) or meet halfway.
