1. The headstock looks like this (But with a different serial number) But as i mentioned there is nothing on the heel of the guitar.
 2. Hey guys. I have picked up a Fender P bass, "Made In Japan", not crafted. Its from 1995 with a serial number on the headstock just below the Fender logo that corresponds with the claimed year. However there is no serial number on the heel of the neck which is where i usually see a serial number on. However the neck has the stamp "PB-610R" where the neck is joined the body. Is this a genuine fender? Cheers! Rob.
 3.
Airing dirty laundry in public rarely gets the result you wish for...
The seller already mentioned he hasent offered to pay for repairs so the buyer wasent going to get what he wanted anyway (IE some money towards repairs). So this is the bad feedback that was left, this is the feedback forum. For good and bad feedback.
 4.
both pete and shock above are of course right. I agree, but no one had yet made the point that I did.
True, unless someone owned up to knowing about it before hand and didnt pass on the information. Or you never know it could have been a manufacturing error from the start that people didnt realise.
 5.
Just so we're clear, you tried the bass but someone else had to point out that it was sounding terrible? In which case, you can't blame the seller for not recognising there was a problem either.
Considering i had a Stingray which had two of its three positions not working correctly, i wouldnt say they sounded bad, but they didnt sound correct. One tone was ultra bright and weedy and one was very dark and low in volume. Considering i had never owned a stingray before i just assumed thats what they naturally sounded like and didnt think nothing of it until someone who did know something about MM's pointed it out.
 6.
on another note, and obviously this is nowt to do with me, but it is worth saying (I think anyway) that wherever the "fault" (for want of a better word) lies, the bass was advertised for £700. I do not know the actual sale price, but this is a great price for a SR5. My tech could rewire the bass for £50 tops, so once done I would be totally satisfied that all is well, and have spent only £750.
So? It was advertised as being in good condition and with no real problems. It shouldnt have been a problem in the first place. And 700 is not the cheapest i have seen for an SR5 (Indeed i bought and sold one on for £620, that one DID have a pickup wiring problem and i made SURE the buyer was aware of it.)
I bought a Tokai Loverock 2 guitar on ebay last year, and it had dodgy pots. I took it to my tech, spent £70, new pots, orange drops, totally rewired. Total expenditure still a great deal. I am not saying that things should not work when you buy them, but I tend to take all my stuff to my tech to fiddle with on purchase anyway.
Letting off manufacturers or sellers on their responsibility to giving you a good product makes them unwilling to improve their product or description. Look at the video game industry, its all too common practice that games are released with many many bugs, maybe one patch is released to fix them, but does not fix them completely. Meanwhile the developer is still churning out DLC and add ons (that people pay for to expand the game) but still havent fixed fundamental game breaking problems (Leaving some people unable to play their purchase). These developers are now relying on FAN based patches to make their game work because it is uneconomical for them to produce free patches, the game is already bought, they got their money they dont give a toss if little Jimmy cant play it. If you do not keep badgering sellers and returning dodgy good for a refund, then they will be more likely to produce shoddy work in the future if people just "Accept it" When my barefaced cab came and the handles fell off should i have not of sent it back? Should i have been happy with my purchase? Hell no, i got a replacement and was far happier for it.
 7.
I'm sure that John would have noticed it. That's why I didn't offer to pay towards the repairs. That and the fact that it took a month to contact me.
Honestly, if i were replacing a scratchplate and thats all that i was being asked to do, i wouldnt have noticed anything wrong with the electronics on the assumption there were no wires dangling free. John is not to blame here. Either way, a good will payment towards repairs would be a grand idea either from you or the person you bought it from.
 8. Necro Bump! Ok well, i might be able to get hold of the Stringray that i quoted before again. This time the price is £1000 plus 2 guitars thats worth maybe 600 altogether. Worth it for 1978? (Possible 79) Stingray? Maybe.....
 9. Hey guys! Up for sale i have an Ibanez RG570, made in japan in 1990. ( The 570 series back then was the early 90's equivilent of the modern day Ibanez prestige series.) Black with rosewood board, small chips near the input jack and a dent above the low e string. Frets are in good condition, truss rod works 100%, great low action. Modifications include, Plastic pickup raiser rings have been replaced with metal equivilants. Trem backplate has also been replaced. The guitar also comes with a Beat up hardcase. Pickup from Bristol UK £280 FIRM. Rob.
 10. I just dont have the readies at the moment to buy it, i would love it!

Mind you i want first dibs on it when you sell it on again
 12.
Blimy! He did the pickup routing in mine in about 2 weeks, but this was a few years back now I guess.
Sanding down and refinishing a guitar takes an age mind.
 13.
Tom Waghorn of Waghorn guitars in Queen's Square did a great job of routing out my frankenstein P bass, you might want to give him a try if you haven't already.
Thats the place where i was quoted, Mr Foxen and I popped down their last night, all the refinishing routing and filling done for around £300, minus parts, however they are still working on refinishing a Gibson for 6 months now. They said about 4 months is the likely turnaround time. Not sure if i could wait that long.
 14.
Mmm. I probably wouldn't do that! My fear would be that I would make it even less saleable! Sales usually pick up around the spring (April). You could also alter the tone with an off board pre amp. I saw that Nordstrand are just about to release a pre amp that might be very interesting.
I am getting all of the filling and refinishing work done by a professional, Though the turnaround time i was quoted was not very fast! Maybe if i find someone local in Bristol i can get it all sorted out within a couple of months. Besides, i want my MM equipped Pedulla, they would have a fit if they saw it! I guess its my beater and even if the routing doesant go very well i can just whack a great big ramp over the holes! Once all the work is done on the fretted and its to my satisfaction i'll get my near mint fretless with 5A top in on the action and get that MM'ed up! I love the construction of these basses so much that i am willing to destroy their resale by customising it for me. I have never felt so sure about a bunch of basses in my life. I wouldnt have considered it otherwise!
 15.
Your pics aren't working Rob. I'll be watching this with interest!
Just sorted them out.
 16. Hey guys! After the spectacular failure of trying to sell this Pedulla, i decided to go through on my threat and butcher it! Current plans are to strip it of all paint, hardware and the bartolini pickups/preamp, replacing with a Black Schaller 3D bridge, Hipshot ultralight black tuners. Fill in both pickup routs, create a new rout for a MM style pickup at the MM sweetspot, (Pickup hasent been chosen, considering a Ceramic Seymour duncan MM or Nordstrand 5.2 MM pup) Seymour duncan 3 band Musicman Pre-amp with slap switch, 18volts and a On/off switch. And for it to be completely refinished in black. Its gonna cost alot of money, but will be worth it! I think Stringray 5's are ugly as sin, but somehow this melted sweet shaped bass has gotten hold of me and wants me to like the sound of it! If anyone has anything to contribute or thinks i should go with some different parts let me know, i am looking for a Musicman tone, maybe a bit hotter!!! Though the colour scheme cannot be changed as i have to save the original Pedulla logo as Pedulla wont sell me a new decal. The headstock will have to be refinished around the logo. Rob.
 17. If you thought that one was bad. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...sid=p2759.l1259 heres another, already reported and emailed the seller. The string tree is in the wrong position, used an old style logo on some"THING" modern, The pickup is wrong, bridge is wrong, neckplate and serial wrong. Trys to negate responsibility by saying he is unsure about the mods done by previous owner. Which i am sure is against ebay policy now.
 18. Price? Part ex's?
 19. How many pots and switches does this version have? Does it include a blend pot? Is it for use with Passive or active pups?
