Now video! Recorded through camera mic and my terrible playing (jusat aint used to not having a low B to rest my thumb on!), shows the bass being played with a plectrum, slap and fingers. Set for gigging EQ with more Mids and treble then usual. This video it to show that its all in working order, not tonal quality! Remember the Seymour Duncans that come with the bass are not installed, so this is just the standard pickup;. Track listing includes. Sum 41 - Pain for pleasure, Some random slap thing, Megadeth - Dawn Patrol, Iron Maiden - the Trooper. -

Maybe some newspapers should be covering this? The family should contact the media for help in this matter, generally could be covered by that. Either way, a good cause. If i sell a bass i'll be donating

Ok well i have put it up for sale at £400 and i am throwing in a set of unfitted Seymour duncan quarter pounders as well

|Hmm i'll mull over it for a few hours Cheers guys!

Hey guys. Just wondering whether or not to just sell my P bass out right instead of waiting on a trade. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=74521 Whats the general ballpark figure i should be expecting for it? Cheers! Rob.
Sorry, I'm just confused... If you're worried about DC990 being a new member with few posts, he's a personal friend of mine, and you can trust him.
I had forgot i had put the postage thing on there tbh! Sorry. Anyway i have decided in general to not post. I have had a few people offer me just below £250, only a matter of time until someone local or who is able to pick up will take it! THis is no reflection on DC990
The body looks the same, but to me, it looks like the headstock does not have the pointy bit, maybe its a different neck.
I know older G&L's have a pre-lawsuit headstock. Maybe its one of them?
-
Hmm its probably a G&L El Toro after doing a bit of research!

Hey guys. Just going back over some stuff i used to listen to a few years ago and began listening to Watchtower, an early tech metal group with the legendary Doug Keyser. I had allways assumed he played Spectors with EMG's but in many of his videos he is using what appears to be a G&L with what looks like Jazz style pickups. However i reckon it might actually be Humbuckers and the bass is a G&L Interceptor, but the control plate and headstock does not look quite right. Can anyone positivly identify the bass? Cheers.
Yep, genuine
Yup just got this nugget of information.
Hi Rob, The reason there ain't no serial on the heel of the neck is because that is a STANDARD model, not the so-called re-issue model. ( Actually, Fender Japan never officially used the suffix "RI" on their models). All STANDARD models have different headstock decal and do not have serial numbers on the heel of the neck. As you can see, the "Precision Bass" decal on the headstock is different from those "RI" models. And lastly, the truss-rod adjustment hole is located on the headstock, not on the neck cavity.
Video a few posts down Hey guys. Up for sale/trade i have this Fender P bass Made in Japan in the mid 90's, this bass has a couple of scars but is in good working order. The jack socket may need replacing in the next few months but works fine. The truss rod works 100%. The control knobs have been replaced with strat style ones. I have just put some brand new Hartke heavy nickelwound strings on her. The three tone sunburst is pretty dark and can be mistaken for two tone in low light. The bass has a nice woody tone and plenty of low end and bottom. It also comes with a gigbag and set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders (unfitted) Trade wise... what have yah got? All i know is, i dont want three tone sunburst! I also have a Japanese Ibanez RG 570 Gui***r from the 1990s i can throw into a trade deal. (Photos of the RG are here, http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=74217 ) You guys know what i like by now. REDUCED TO £360 WITHOUT THE SD's. £380 WITH THE SD's Rob.

Thats just horrible. So sad. Thats no age at all. My Condolences.

Phew no worries, its been confirmed as genuine The T series was an odd series where they included all the information on the headstock, so there was no point in including the information on the Heel. The neck stamp confirms its a genuine fender as well.
