2. Hey guys. I have a Fenix Telecaster for sale, made in Korea by Young Chang. Serial number E906440 First out, i am not a guitar player, i am a bass player and know very little about guitars in general so bear with me! I will describe the guitar in the most honest terms possible. Anyway. This is a Fenix by Young Chang telecaster, it has the old style telecaster headstock, maple/maple neck combo with Sparkle Candy apple red finish. Standard telecaster features. Skunk stripe down the back of the neck. The neck is in very good nick with tuners 100% fine. There is some minor fretwear but a non issue. The body has long scratches on the front and back of the body, its really hard to see beyond very close up but they are there. On the front of the body they are near where the arm would rest. Looks like some hard plectrum usage. They are in the finish and not the wood only. There are also some scratches near the jack input. The bridge is fully working with no problems. The pickups are working A-ok. However the 3 way switch needs looking at when neck pickup only is selected. I would suggest a replacement. Its definitely the switch and not the pickup that has the problem. The volume and tone knobs are very solid. I have just put a new set of Ernie ball regulars on her and the guitar has a low action. No problems with string bends choking out either. The pickguard screws are pretty rusty. The switch tip is missing. Anyway. That is my appraisal. Because of the scratches and issues with the selector switch, i am selling this guitar AS IS. Price is £130 shipped. £115 picked up from Bristol. Heres some photos!
3. Blimey took a while to get updated! So the pickup rout is sorted, the battery box is getting sorted this week. Then off to refinishing!
4. Hey guys. Just got the SVT back from a full service and everything is fired up ready to go! The bright circuit has been replaced (Resistor and capacitor) All controls are working with no crackle. Overall decent physical condition. The SVT IIP is generally considered to be the closest in sound out of all the ampeg pre-amps to the classic ampeg sound. It has had a recent valve replacement with british military standard valves. £280 Shipped, or £260 picked up. Rob.
5. Pmed.
6. If your considering just selling your current plate, how much for? (Its the one that requires a side mount jack right?)
7.
I REALLY would like to hear some peoples defintion of a good tone.
Why cant we stop the feuding and the fussing and make a compromise? Lightweight cab that is far more efficient and powerful then a fridge, but with the Ampeg all valve tone!
8.
No, you're right mate. Ampeg SVT's are total sh*te. You've converted me and i'm going to sell mine at a car boot sale for a tenner. It propably won't sell though cos it's such a load of crap. Perhaps I'll just give it away to some 'fool' who likes having a really bad tone.
Wow touchy touchy, sounds almost as touchy as.... oh thats right the people you slagged off for having anything other then an Ampeg! Maybe i should get rid of my Ampeg Anniversary SVT because i wouldnt want to be associated with the likes of you! Also in regard to Ampeg fridges, they have been made for many many years now with little changes, some people call it the industry standard. I say Ampeg are shooting themselves in the foot that they havent taken the last few decades of cab engineering advancements into consideration and build a more modern alternative. I would LOVE a lightweight ported 8x10 with the words Ampeg on it!
9. I have an SVT and i am happy with my choice, its back breaking, but only back breaking once a month if i am lucky! (To gig that is) However at band practices i am more then happy to use whatever is there to hire. I do not drive. That is all! ...Ampeg pwnz all of you!
10. Whats the scale length and string spacing?
11.
PM Sent Lovely Bass !!!
PM replied, still available! As far as trade bait is concerned, i am interested in Fender Deluxe USA basses, Weirder but decent 70's 80's style jap basses. Gibson Grabbers (G1's) I much prefer maple boards over anything else.
12. Bump for evening crew!
13.
Is this my old bass?! Mine was sold in a Hiscox case, but the hinges/clasps were all working. If it is, it left me in brand new condition, and looks like it still is.
Hmm it could be! Just rechecked, it is a Hiscox case. The Clasp with the lock is not working. I did not aquire it from a basschatter though.
How old is it? And Munk, just NO!
Feb/Mar 2002 Also the bass is not particularly heavy for a Stingray, Which is pretty good!
14. Hey guys. Description Here we have a very good condition Musicman Stingray 4 string. Specification Lovely natural finish with a decent grain, with black scratchplate and all original electronics. Versatile 3 band EQ and Maple Fingerboard. There is some nice understated flame maple in the neck and fingerboard. The bass is not particularly heavy for a Stingray. Comes with Hiscox hardshell case (With one clip that does not work) Otherwise in great condition. Functionality Absoloutely no problems electrically or structurally, all electronics are working smoothly. Trussrod is 100% functional. Playability Has had a proffesional setup last week, low action and strung with brand new Rotosound 105-45 Stainless Steel strings with less then an hour playtime on them. Had it purposely set up with a slight amount of buzz to help cut through a heavy mix. Sounds Pure Stingray. Sounds exactly how a Stingray should sound. Condition A few light marks on the metal control panel, otherwise in great condition! Price/Trades £720 Picked up. Trades and Part Exchanges with money my way are possible. Interested in WHY. Delivery Bass must be picked up from Bristol, would rather not post at this time. 16.
Nice one Rob - think that's great! Will try to make it down there - do you know (roughly) what time you guys are due to play? Good luck!
We are going to be on around about 9:30 with any luck! Just had first practice and the drummer is a bit rusty! He hasent played in 3 years! Got a couple of covers down and two originals but we're struggling a bit!
17. Deep Rack case, used to house my bass rig. Solid but not heavy wooden construction. Also has an unused backplate (Which needs screws) With holes for wiring. £20 collection only from kingswood, Bristol. Or swap for two sets of chrome/nickel Dunlop straploks. I will not post Rob.
18. Well we did have limited time to make a name its only one night anyway!
19. Hey guys. I took on a crazy challenge. Formed a band in 2 minutes yesterday, we have to write 30 mins of material and play at a free gig at the croft, the other bands are slightly more professional then we are, but hey we are doing it for a larf! So if your interested in Prog, Punk, Dub, Metal jam band meanderings, then get yourself down! I'll be trying out my new Ampeg rig too! Rob.
20.
You've got to get the second BFB Vintage. Then you're done!
Thats the plan if my degree ever comes in handy to get a job :S
