Hey guys.
I may be hitting the trigger on a Gibson Grabber II that is at Dawsons in Leeds. I have already asked on person who has played on it, now i want your opinions!
Yeah i understand its a right bastardisation of the original one. I dont like the fact its got a rosewood board and three point bridge, either way how close in "Sound" Is it to an original grabber?
Cheers in advance!
Rob.
Well, here it is! Second coat has gone on, needs a few more.
Its brighter in real life and has blacklight properties much like the DR Neons.
Was that the one on ebay not long ago...i thought of you when that came up
It was! Well there were two on at the same time, i missed the first one and managed to bag the second.
Hey guys finally got the pair! I have been waiting for a precision V in this colour combo for 5 years!
More photos tommorow when there is better light and a nice clean up!
Fender Jazz USA Deluxe V in Montego Black/Gold with Maple fingerboard. Seymour Duncan SD Quarterpounders and J-Retro Deluxe.
Fender Precision USA Deluxe V in Montego Black/Gold with Maple fingerboard. No mods as of yet!
The precision really needs a setup and there are a number of dents in the finish i am not happy about but oh well! Although they are both classified as Montego Black the precision is slightly sparkly compared to the jazz. The jazz also has a darker fretboard and headstock (Fender QC maybe?)
Anyway will update tommorow!
I can give you a lift - would be a same to miss out on the chance of have a Pedulla in the mix.
Hehe, any chance of giving Mr_Foxen a lift as well? We were gonna take the train to Cardiff otherwise!
If it were a grabber, natural, but the black looks better imo!
I would get Dimarzio Willpower P pickup for it as well, play to the basses strengths and have an ultra cutting tone!
If you dont like it, i'll buy it off you
I may be able to come.. Need to see if i can get time off of work. Sunday will be easier for me.
Gear i will be bringing.
Fender USA Deluxe Jazz V
Fender USA Deluxe Precision V
Might be able to bring my refinished Pedulla if its ready, though thats another gigbag to take on the train!
Bump, finally got the paint mix i was after! Took ages due to a certain property which i wanted in the paint itself, trying to find a water based paint with this particular property was pretty hard!
Anyway, spraying will begin this week!
The P rout had to be moved over as the EMG D and G part of the pup wouldnt cover the strings fully.
Hey guys.
Up for sale is this Squier James Johnston Classic Vibe bass.
This is probably one of the best playing basses i have come across, very low action, very easy to play compared to my Fender USA Deluxe. Sounds great, truss rod 100% A-ok.
Unfortunately it sustained shipping damage when it came to me, hence there is a chip in the paintwork on the headstock and a very small chip where the body meets the neck. Otherwise its barely been played.
Does not come with a case. No trades.
Considering how much they go for second hand on ebay, and taking into account the paint chips the price is £180, postage is extra.

As you mentioned it is now for sale, as per forum rules we need a price displayed.

Hey guys.
Well its taken me 5 years of looking for this somewhat rare bird, getting something similar but not quite, having at least 4 of them slip through my fingers either due to lack of money or bad judgement.
And now i have finally bought one. Its coming from a long way away. But damn i am excited!
Heres a teaser
No problem - I'll get the camera out tomorrow.
Any preferences about age, sex or colour?
Our current cats are about a year and a half to two years old so something similar to that, Preferably male, colour not an issue. Are they house cats, or do they have access to outdoors? Ours are house cats, as outside area aint that safe!
Its a real long shot, but cute pictures could sway my Mrs.
