Anyone know of somewhere to get Japanese-market ESPs?
Shockwave replied to Russ's topic in General Discussion
Tetsu is an awesome bassist, and L'arc en ciel is an awesome band Best to go on ishibishi or US ebay, a few weeks ago they had some tetsu models in Japan. Mind you, He has many many sig models. -
I love em both. I have seen Sting with his solo backing band and to be honest, they play the police material better then the police ever could live. I think Sting is a very inventive bass player, If his playing was any different/technical, i doubt they would have gotten the commercial recognition they recieved, the police songs as they are, are perfect and i wouldnt want them to change. He is one of my all time idols. Copeland is a very good drummer, summers can take a hike, his live playing and tone recently has been awful.
I own the Cowboy Bebop 4+1 CD boxed set which includes a booklet with photos and names of the musicians from the Seatbelts live set that is on one of the discs. With the exception of 4 of the vocalists they are most definitely Japanese. Information High is a stunning track! I think the others work best in the context of the film though - especially the Sharon Apple concert sequence.
Information High is my fave track! Its a stunning peice of electronic music. Cant believe they didnt put it on the first two soundtrack CD's and had to be left til the Sharon apple mini album to be put on a CD. However Yokko didnt sing on Information High, It was Melodie Sexton. For the unwitting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMczRJh_OeI Rob. Ps honourary mention goes the for the song "Pulse", if you like Enigma or Enya or anything chillout. Then this song is for you!
The Cowboy Bebop series was my introduction into anime. Highly recommended, and the music hits you from the start with its amazing title sequence, and continues through 26 episodes or so. Written by Yoko Kanno and played, so I thought, by her and her Japanese group.
Yoko Kanno also sung and produced on the Macross Plus soundtrack, She has an amazing voice. The best soundtrack to the best ever film
Is one of the bands called "Seatbelts"?
As much as i like the soundtrack, i have never been into Cowboy Beebop. More of a fan of Macross plus/Robotech.

Ok i am not kidding, i DONT WANT to get rid of this bass. But somethings come up, a dream fretless 5 string and i need to come up with the moolah fast. :'( As i dont play 4 strings in a band this, my only 4 string has to go. It has fantastic FANTASTIC low action. The pickups are billy sheehan's sound all the way. Sounds fantastic even using just a single input in the bass. The bass comes with a hipshot D tuner as standard. Its in 100% MINT condition, still has some of the original sticky backed plastic on the back of the bass. Comes with a gigbag. This has the best P bass sound. and combined with the humbucker, creates harmonic heaven. When i get another P bass i will definitely be putting these pickups (Dimarzio Willpowers) in it. So if you like a P bass with aggresive sound and quirky looks, This is for you. It is a very light bass probably the lightest i have owned. To buy these basses they are £1326 brand new from GAK and with a probable waiting list from Japan. http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/71578 Mine has the best colour in the series as well. £700 pickup from Bristol. Would trade for 5 String status basses, fretless a bonus! I will ship if absoloutely neccesary, but i dont like doing it Buyer pays postage. I dont want to sell this bass really, so i reserve the right to withdraw the bass anytime before money exchanges hands. (Just in case the bass i am after sells.) I do buy and sell ALOT as many know, but this must be done and many people know i love this bass. Cheers. Rob.
Me also - the bit about never getting asked back to a group he's left is pretty familiar too :-)
I have been kicked out of every band i have ever been in apart from one which just fell apart because two of the band members wanted me out, but the singer wanted to keep me and dissolved the band instead. -

I actually see myself being that guy. I am a pretty abrasive person in real life and i am not sure whether i want to become that guy or not! He makes sense to me. -
Probably, but if you coat the board in epoxy (which you'll probably want to do anyway as the board is rosewood) then the problem should disappear. S.P.
If the inlays were epoxied along with the board, wouldnt that make inlays look a bit terrible, or is epoxy transparant? Rob.

Hey guys. I have a Jackson concert pro V i have been trying to shift a Jackson for a while now in favour of a fretless. Had a brainwave of possibly converting the Jackson to fretless. However it has quite large sharkfin style inlays, If the bass is converted to fretless, would this effect the sound of the bass when my fingers go over the inlay. -Rob.

A forum member here used to have a fretted one of these. Looks lovely. Not many around, but doesant neccesarily make it valuable. -
Heya. Feel like i am stuck in a rut. Would like to learn rapid bass playing techniques for extreme genres and Mark King esq style slapping. Might not be everyones cup of tea but would like to learn it all the same. Cheers! Rob.

Hey guys. Just got myself a Roland DB-900. Which i will be picking up tommorow. Tried one a few years ago and loved it, But couldnt afford the 1000 quid price tag. And now i cant remember how it sounded! For the uninitiated its a 7 speaker combo. 4x10 passive 2/12 and a tweeter. I have read the harmony-central reviews, but would also like basschatter opinions on them. Cheers!
