1. Hey guys. I have met Adam before and hes a top bloke so dont be afraid to buy cause hes a newbie
2. Hey guys. Its a lovely Jackson 5 string from japan with Emg Selects and very solid construction, the action is low and has lovely sharkfin inlays! It has a decent rock and metal sound and pretty decent slap sound (Which i was surprised with) It has just recently been set up by Steve of Electric Ladyland. The bridge is a very heavy duty original Kahler bridge. The colour is more metallic Purple/Burgandy then the Wine red that it is supposed to be. There is a couple of chips on the back of the bass at the edge of its base. The bass has had a good clean since the photos were taken. Comes with a Softcase. £250 FIRM. Many of you know i do like to deal face to face so local pickup is much preferred. At a push shipping can be arranged for ONE of the basses. Cheers! Rob.
3. Rotosounds are my strings of choice for two reasons. They are cheaper then your average brand name string (Average Swing bass set is 14 quid retail) And their ultra light gauge strings 30-90 are awesomely zingy If i had alot of money i would stick with my favoured brand which are ultima golds. Ah well.
4.
Is it this one? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=stingray+piezo
Yup. Considering a normal black SR4 with non matching headstock and no peizo sold for 650 recently, I think 700 is a fair asking price. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=musicman And also going by other current prices of unsold "normal" SR4's (IE no matching headstock, LM edition colour, no peizo) have 725 being asked for i think this is also a fair price. The Musicman market has recovered since the credit crunch began. As people are finding importing Musicmans far more expensive then it was a few months ago. I would also like to add, this one comes with a MM hardcase also.
5. And no, an offer of 550 is pretty damn offensive. I am looking at 700 firm.

7. Interestingly enough i know someone who has NO00001 I have played on it a number of times, and it is a GORGEOUS bass to look at and play. Anyone who gets this bass is one lucky guy.
8. Chezz55 Came all the way to Bristol in the snow to drop off my new Jackson 5 Concert pro. lovely bass and lovely bloke, cheers dude! Rob.
9. Also. Anyone know if percy jones played with flats or rounds on the Brand-X recordings? Cheers
10. Hes a bass player alright. I mean if a guitarist were to play a 7 string and downtune alot, he would still be known as a guitarist. If a guitarist tuned up to play some slide or weird tuning, he would still be called a guitarist. So if a bass player decides he wants to tune up with some light gauge strings, Why is he not a bass player? John Enwhistle and Jack Bruce have played Fender VI's which are far more guitar like to look at then that mans Zon. Would you dream of calling them non bass players? Heres one thing i have learnt in listening to viewing clips of bass players. Never pigeonhole their playing style with clips you have seen online, Chances are they can play many other different styles, Traditional and progressive if you actually meet them in real life. But they choose to put what they want to put online. I have no doubt this guy can tear it up on a "normal" strung bass. Another example i have seen "Such and such bass player Suuuuuxxxxx" This was a comment made about Ian Hill of Judas priest. Just because he bangs on root notes alot does not make him a bad player, Hes playing to the song and to the genre he likes. However he is definitely not a bad technical bass player as showcased in Judas Preists early stuff. Plus he could probably outplay most of us in a solo setting without a band. I would NEVER ever judge a player by their released material. I would only judge a player if i have seen them in real life in a relaxed session to see what they can really do.
11. I play infront of my drummers The rest of the band dont like that much however. So i will usually stick to stage left.
12.
There was a red 5 string Stingray with a Nordstrand Pickup here on the forum a while ago. Oh wait,. That was yours. What happened man ?
New band happened! I didnt need the musicman at the time. Plus i never liked the colour! To add i dont really like red basses!
13. Ok so i am now really desperate for a 5 string fretted, however i cant let go of my Fender of Yamaha at this moment. So i have to officially sell this Stingray. Its a lovely example, Black sparkle with matching headstock, Maple FB, Hipshot D tuner. All original electronics and 5! yes thats FIVE knobs to play around with. The Piezo really captures the acoustic warmth that you might need, Plus you can dial in a balance between the magnetic and piezo pickup to get the best of both worlds. Currently set up with ultra light strings and ultra low action. There is a dent in the paintwork just above the scratchplate near the neck which is a shame but i never notice it So throw me out your offers. I will entertain good cash offers. Looking for Musicman 5 strings (Only decent/rare colours please) Warwick 5, Jazz 5/Musicman pup equipped 5. I may consider high end 4/6 string fretlesses as well. Selling for £700 Firm. Cheers! Rob.
14.
I'm quite old...but it's all original material by the looks of it..... otherwise I'd be up for a crack at that.
Yup all originals, they maybe up for some covers but i never asked them.

18.
Phwoooaaaar!!! Loving that Sheehan with the scalloped frets! So you ditched your previous Musicman basses (including the beautiful Sterling I bought from you) and indulged yourself with another one? :-)
Eh? I didnt endulge in another:P I kept the one you played and said you didnt like the sound!
19. Get it out of my house! Its been very faithful to me, but is just taking up room since my kick ass 28inch flatscreen arrived. It works brilliantly. I dont have a spare power cable but works on any standard monitor cable. Pm for details. Rob.
