If you have a budget of £1000 there's an absolutely ridiculous selection of basses for sale just now.
Shame I don't have £1000 🥲

Saw James Taylor at Apollo last night. Still has that voice and what a band - Steve Gadd on drums, Jimmy Johnson on bass and a bunch of other fine players/singers

And again Royal mail have failed to deliver, didn't even leave a card, the website says they tried to deliver this morning but no card, no knock at the door (have been in all day), someone's telling porkies.
Just wanted a cheap harness to try out series/parallel but at this rate I might just end up hard wiring the bass in series

If I ever take my car to mainland Europe again, I am definitely getting one of these.

Why do my private messages to another member get posted on the sodding updates? How frikken rude...

Always funny to see a bass you sold back up for sale at twice what you sold it for, and being described as a "bargain" 😂

Apparently I am now a "Basschat Hero" , don't worry it won't go to my head. (as long as I am shown the deference I so clearly deserve.)

Watched a set by Sophie Ellis-Bextor at Bath's Pub in the Park yesterday. At first I thought she might be lip-syncing, but it turns out she's just very good. Her band were on fire too. They did an excellent version of Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' and the bassist (her husband I think? She called him Richard at one point, seems like a coincidence) absolutely nailed Guy Pratt's sublime octaved part on the original.

Just another completely pointless Status Update ... I've just bought new strings. For my Status.

Obviously before you posted a reply in the Huawei thread, did you not see some of the earlier posts where members are blatantly getting into politics which is not allowed on the forum. Please learn how to do your job as a Moderator properly. I have reported it but I thought you would have known better!

So a sovereign state bans equipment from another sovereign state (at the behest of another sovereign state) in its Telecoms insfrastructure. Can't see how this is not political/Political. Maybe stick to reading about string gauges and speaker cones is the safer option and block Off Topic?😉
On a different note, have never been able to understand why people post PM's in a status update but I thought I'd pile in anyway, I feel liberated!

Looking for an old Hofner - preferably a Verythin or Senator. Anyone selling anything?

When did we start posting private correspondence in the Status column? Oh well, here goes... Derek. I don't need the adult diapers now until Friday. Thanks.

Having a week away in Dorset. Place says it has free wifi. Except 4 of the 5 hubs you can connect to don't have an internet connection.
So everyone is using the one that works and it's slower than 1990s dial up...

Was at the Blues Kitchen in Brixton last night and there was a house band playing R&B/Soul. All good. Apart from they didn't have a bass player 😅.
Made for slightly odd listening.

Two-saddle P Bass bridges! I'm done with 'em! They look 'authentic' but really the action and intonation adjustments are always a compromise. You can see why Leo went for the four-saddle job in 1957! Fitted a Fender Am Deluxe four-saddle variant instead and it's a different bass entirely. Peace out!!
