  1. Confirmed late-notice support slot at the Thekla on Friday... been there several times but never on the stage :)

  2. FAO: Fender flatwound users - does the 'fat' part of the E string still wrap around the tuner post? I had some on my P Bass before and remember that the taper started after the string had already met the tuner. Is this still an issue? I was thinking of buying some.

Interesting re flats not liking to be cut because I've had them on and off my telebass number of times when swapping out pickups etc and the end on the D has literally snapped off the length that goes into the post hole, leaving me with less to wrap around the tuner post causing some issues with slipping.

These were bought in the last month-6 weeks and were in the Black packets with a green Fender 'F' ion the r/h side. I've seen some white packets since. Just thought, I've got through-body stringing which would explain the difference!  So unless you drill some holes and get a new twin saddle bridge, I think you are 'as per' your photo! Sorry!

Was going to reply and say it depends how short you cut your strings, but actually as you can see the taper starts just after green windings. Hope this helps? If you go ahead there's a set for £20 in the ads

  5. Had a screw head shear off a bridge screw - boo! But the new bridge I'm fitting has screw holes in different positions anyway, so I don't have to remove the screw - hooray!

Happened to me the other week, one of a litany of issues with cheap hardware I experienced. I super glued the broken head in place.....not a permanent solution but a pragmatic one.

  6. Just thinking about the "Total Watts" rating on BC
Is that old watts, or new watts? ;)
