  1. @Dazed it doesn't fit your full requirements at all, being narrower string spacing and a JJ configuration, but I also have a 32" Warwick Rockbass Corvette which is very tasty too. I think there's only this and the Ibanez that are available off the shelf. I'm really liking this scale myself. 🙂
  2. I have an Ibanez srmd205 - amazing little bass. 18mm at the bridge, 32" scale. It sits great in the mix and my band prefer it to my Dingwall and Sandberg! Ok the B isn't like the Dingwall, and the pre-amp is a little noisy, but for a cheap and cheerful bass, it's really great. Scope to upgrade bits as required. Just seen black ones can be had for £239 now - crazy.. https://www.andertons.co.uk/ibanez-srmd205-bkf-5-string-bass-in-black-flat-srmd205-bkf?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwv2OzPeR7wIVwsLtCh1-QgbmEAQYAiABEgLKvfD_BwE
  3. I'm a fingers player, but would like to get to grips with a pick as I do think it can be a useful addition to the armory. I can knock out a few bits with a pick but I almost immediately miss that tactile connection between string and finger, the pick feels a bit like a barrier and I feel like I've been 'unplugged' from my bass. I've never got anywhere near as fast with a pick as I can play with fingers either.
  4. Love a bit of Suicidal ever since seeing them on the 4 band Clash of the Titans in Wembley- RT has been a beast for years. Reminds me of the very incongruous site of Mad Mike Muir walking down Colchester High Street with a couple of M&S carrier bags. Think he'd been and bought sarnies...
  5. Thanks for clarifying, that makes sense! I had a 25cm power connector cable made up with 2.1mm and 2.5mm sockets but hadn't been brave enough to try it! 😉
  6. I decided to give this thing a go and picked up an HX Effects - it's starting to make sense. Quick question on power supplies if anyone knows, I have a Truetone CS7 which will power the HX Effects - but I keep seeing mentions on other forums about using the supplied adapters and polarity reverser. Now, the CS7 is centre negative and the supplied HX power supply is also centre negative...am I missing something here? Looks like there should be no need to reverse polarity. But, I did blow up the band lights once, so.....🙄
  7. I think the thing is to not place too much weight on how the original version sounds - take the song and do what sounds good for your band with it.
  8. We mash up Cake By The Ocean by DNCE with Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana... call it Smells Like Cake. Great for confusing the hell out of drunk punters 😜
  9. Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon is a floor filler for us...when we could fill floors that is... The youngsters seem to also really enjoy our version of Paradise by George Ezra (rocked up a bit 😏)
  10. Rhinestone Cowboy (Builder) - Glen Campbell
