  1. Evo iv is so much better than previous ones (just my opinion). Its cleaner, punchier and more adaptable to different sounds required.
  2. It's probably just to stop the endless faff the venue might get. (Swap this here, swap that there, put this into that...... let's be honest - all guitarist issues....). Just ask them what kit is supplied. Unless it's terrible just go with it. You can always plug pedal boards into their amps etc in so shouldnt be any issues. If it's done properly the sound guy will be used to the equipment and get a good sound for you.
  3. Easy for me at the moment. I'm down to just one.
  4. These are great cabs. Loud, Light and grea sounding. Lightweight - 21kg! Powerful and compact. Very nice sounding and has a 3 switch horn. Very good condition. Just not needed as my bands are now going ampless. Collection Leyland Lancashire.
  5. Love this amp. I'd probably put it as the best amp I've had. However I'm now in 3 bands and theyve all decided to go ampless. So I've no hope of playing this in any of them. Its renowned for its core tone. Really nice. Quite bright to start, which I like, but that can be dialled out if you like. It also has the quality ebs compressor which works beautifully. It has a great DI and a speaker sim if you like a cab sound direct. The comprehensive eq allows any sound to be created and the semi parametric dial is superb. Lastly its light for what it is. It's not a heavy amp. Very hard to come by nowadays. The new hd802 is over £2000+ The amp is in very good condition and has been protected by the original ebs case with a spare 1u rack space for a tuner or spare amp. The case is in ok condition, some carpet bubble etc but that's what it is for. I've had so many amps over the years, I'd say for an all round amp considering weight, tone, versatility and reliability then this is the best. I'm also selling an ashdown rm410 cab which works great with this. That only weighs 21kg! Combine both for a stunning rig. Collection Leyland Lancashire.
  6. If you like the set up of the traveller, you could get the ninja combo. Essentially a traveller sized package, vertical, and a powerful built in head with everything you need. Extremely loud and a one hand lift.
  7. I'm really struggling to understand the way bass manufacturers are going now with all this frfr and now powered cabs built for pre amps - arent they just selling active PA speakers or am I missing something?
  8. This happened to me, but with a delivery for my neighbours that I knew nothing about. They were convinced the driver delivered it to my house as he put it on a card that he had. They checked their CCTV and it showed him going up my drive to my front door, but he disappeared from view due to the angle of the camera as he got closer to the door. There was no knock and no parcel left. So I've no idea what he did. However, the neighbour was convinced he delivered it to me (definitely didnt) and we now dont speak. Ive made it clear to them in future if anyone (genuinely) knocks on my door with a parcel for them I will tell them to fook off, so they know where they stand. It's bad enough if you dont have a parcel you've ordered delivered, but to be accused of taking a parcel you knew nothing about is even worse! Hope you manage to get sorted.
  9. Theyll soon change their attitude when they realise if they do nothing theyll soon lose both the item and the money you paid them. Then theyll have to do something.
  10. I think the law is it's the shops responsibility to chase, which makes sense. Until you have received it, it's not your goods and therefore its upto them to chase.
  11. Put taller feet on it to aid cooling underneath, that'll help natural cooling which should mean the fan isnt needed as much.
  12. The Pau ferro on my fender player precision sounded and felt great, but looked a bit too much like it had faded from what it should have looked like if it was rosewood etc.
  13. So wish I hadn't sold this. I'd love another.
  14. My plucking thumb rests on the open e string when playing. It moves when I need to hit anything on the e string or an open e. Fretting hand thumb kinda goes inbetween centre of back of neck and visible fret side. Dont know why, they just do.
  15. How about a Laney digbeth verticalcal 4x10. 4ohm, vertical alignment, cool looks, good price.
  16. I tried the 350hd out tonight at practice with the party band. Hooked it up to the ashdown evo iv 8x10 in the room, which I normally use with the evo iv head. I used my bass collection precision, with dimarzio pick ups and ernie ball cobalt flats. Gees, what a combination that is! The head is SO warm and tuneful. Nice and rich sound with the ability to really cut through if needed, but I preferred pretty much the flat eq, bit of compression, 50% drive and it was lovely. I usually have my head boosted in the mids, but there really was no need to with this one. Also, the parametric eq gives so much tone shaping. It's exactly what I wanted. I prefer it in almost every way to the abm. It just kind of made the cab sing and want to turn it up and play. It was clearer but deeper (if that makes sense?). Didnt get anywhere near a quarter volume, but that's to be expected with an 8x10. Theres no way on earth I'm lugging round an 8x10 myself though, but a nice evo iv cab may be in the reckoning in the new year. They went together so well.
  17. I had the swamp ash jazz. Superb quality. Really really nice. I'd have another in a heartbeat.
  18. Bass Centre padded gig bag for bass guitar. Very thick padding and high quality. Lots of places for cables, tuner, etc Comes with back straps. Never used. Arrived with a bass I bought.
  19. Just been tidying the house and found some case candy that I must have taken out of a bass purchase when I bought it. Might be of use to someone? £25 delivered.
  20. Thanks. What cabs would you recommend with the ebs?
  21. Cheers I'll have a look at vanderkley if I get chance.
  22. I got one of the 500 mk1 in the sale a few years ago. Really good amp, good sound. Only downside was a terrible DI out which made it unusable for our gigs. So be careful to check that as well.
