1.
Stwike him woughly and thwow him to the gwound centuwion.
Fixed.
2. Hahahah, I don't think people are THAT anal... Are they? o.o If you or a member of your family has been offended or disturbed by my misspelling of the surname of John Alec 'The Ox' Entwistle, I sincerely apologise and hereby promise to never deviate from the original recorded versions of any of his bass lines.
3. One of my bands does quite a few covers, one of which is My Generation.. I usually do the bass solo note for note, purely because it's fun and people recognise it. Reckon I'd alienate anyone by playing anything OTHER than Entwhistle's lines?
4. Brilliant, man! Definitely put a band together. Not criticisms as such, but I personally would have turned the vox up a tiny bit and the bass down ( but only a teeny bit!). Even so, it sounds amazing! Kudos. P.S. I like the snare sound! Plus, you have the seal of approval from my drummist
5. My dad went to school with Chris Brown, the London producer, if anyone's heard the name? And the Charlatans HQ is round the corner from my house, pretty sure they're spotted out n about town sometimes
6. And no smart-alecs going 'JFGI' either, which is always a bonus. I love Cort stuff, I've got a C4 sat upstairs, and played one or two other models once. Idk about any Ltd series though..
7. Aha, they do the job don't they?
8. Likewise, my VMJ is absolutely beautiful. The pickups have the decal 'Duncan Designed' on them - Does this mean they are SD's? Or copies of? Also Len, what's the problem with the tuners? Mine seem to work fine?
9. I don't even try a bass out unless I've seen it and thought 'actually, that might be quite good!' I'm aware of how much good stuff I might be missing out, but I'm the same with everything - if it doesn't make me go 'wow!' then I probably won't be interested in it. Once I've decided it looks good enough, I'll give it a try. I have a history of only really getting on with StingRay - and Jazz - style basses, so that colours my choice somewhat too. Stick with what you know I guess.
10. Naturally! we'll be in touch in the future though, bag you some gigs round Manchester way too. Have fun man!
11. Excellent news man! What's the name of the band? A member of my band stays in the Toon for uni, so I can probably get him in touch to sort some gigs together when you're ready (Y) Happy for ya dude
12. Mr. Tension, I believe it would be, yes!
13. Would it really be a Les Paul if those problems WERE fixed?
14. What I mean is that the signal is presumably stereo so the signal (obviously) goes to all FOH. Therefore you have 2 slides per stereo group (L+R), controlling the volume of each side of the FOH and the panning is there for creating a better stereo image or whatever.. Does that make sense? o.0
15. Presumably because the groups are in stereo, so you can control the group volume on both L and R speakers..
16. Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai.. Still trying to get the hang of the chorus, I'm not exactly brilliant at slap bass..
17.
How charming
Me, or the band? As for myself, I've never had any injuries with the band, although the rhythm guitarist did manage to shred his strumming hand on a pickup selector switch that had lost its plastic tip..
18.
Not to me but some fighting punters fell against a poorly balanced PA Cab that then tumbled upon them mid-fight. Needless to say we just carried on playing and watched the carnage unfold. Oh yeah, girl singer got in a fight with the bouncers in one place. Her boyfriend was being aggro'd by the bouncers so she just leapt on one of them off of the stage. Again we carried on playing.
That, my friend, is the pinnacle of professionalism! A punk band we were playing with brought down the PA and smashed the headliner's guitar amp.. Gimps the lot of them.
19. I had a MIM P once, it was the one they did for Fender's 60th Birthday. I've since sold it on (if I'd have known about this place I'd have asked you lot about what it should have been worth - I got it 2nd hand, never gigged, mint condition, the only thing it needed was a setup, the action was all out of whack).. Apart from the aforementioned action issues, it was a fine bass, I just never got on with the neck profile, too big for me! My '11 VM Squier J is sweet as a nut, and far superior to any USA Std J I've tried.. So maybe it's worth looking at a Squier? Aways try before you buy though. Golden rule.
20. Took me a few seconds of examining the pics to see what you guys meant.. Now I see it, it's actually quite funny :L Pound to a pinch of sh*t that it was my dad who put the bid on, he's forever looking at new basses for me bless him.
21. Jayben

SOLD!

I have one myself and can testify to the quality of these basses - I'm more than happy to do any kind of gig with mine
22. Mods be trippin. Anywho, I stand by old Squiers over new Fenders anyway, have a look around and see if you can bag yourself an old Squier, far better than any new Fender I've played.. All IME and IMO, ofc.
23. Is that Inspector Fox of Scotland Yard I see?
