    Don't let the name fool you, the BB Preamp is really just a tubescreamer overdrive tuned for bass with a 2-band EQ. Great pedal and I own one, you could record direct with it but it wouldn't be my first choice as an amp-simulating preamp since it can produce brittle highs that would sound better filtered out somehow. If you're going to the PA instead of an amp then you don't really need the XLR, but if you want to use an amp as well as the PA then you could do with 2 separate outputs. I'd check out some preamps / amp-sims with built in speaker sims to roll off the harsh highs you can get with distortion, such as the Sansamp Bass Driver DI or VT Bass, EBS Microbass and also the Line 6 stuff.

    There's an Ashdown vertical 2x12 designed to go with this cab, looks pretty good. Is there anyone in the London area that has one of these LB's and wants to meet up to A/B it against my Orange Tiny Terror?

    This was my first bass and I still have it. I fitted a SD Quarter Pounder as well, it sounded great. I recommend getting some Status Hotwire Half Rounds on there, a nice balance between flatwound feel and roundwound tone!

    Either one of those or a Peavey cab. There's plenty of cheap Peavey Black Widow 1x15 cab on the used market.

    You can get XLR to TRS jack adaptors for under a fiver, just chuck one in the gig bag! I agree they should have put one on there but I don't think it's a deal breaker.

    I have one of those Mono straps if you're still looking for one. It's virtually brand new, only used it for 5 minutes and didn't like the feel of it, I prefer leather ones I suppose!

    Right then, looks like the head is either going to be traded with or sold to one of the local Croydonian basschatters, which leaves the cab!

    Yup, I sold him a Fender P5 too which went without a hitch! I was a bit worried about sending a bass via courier, but I packed it pretty well, got a decent rate from interparcel.com, and it turned up in one piece!

    I'm afraid I've already had a couple of local people interested in the head who are willing to pick it up, so I won't be posting this overseas I'm afraid. I may offer shipping for the cab though if I can't find a local buyer within the next 2 weeks. I have the original box flat packed but none of the foam so I will need to source something in order to pack it properly!

    I recommend either a modded Bad Monkey or an Xotic Bass BB. They both sound very similar to each other, and also to the Fulltone Bassdrive but with more low end. When this gets kicked on the bass stands right out in the mix and keeps the lows intact.

    Instead of turning the BDDI blend all the way left, how about just turn it off? Doesn't it send the unaffected bypass tone through to the DI like that?

    It's basically just an add-on power amp to power extra cabs, taking the signal from the preamp of the main head.

    Great pedal this, more of an overdrive rather than just a preamp. I use mine to get Geezer-Butler's-amp-turned-to-eleven sound!

    Max at sfx can mod a Bad Monkey for you to boost the lows. I have an Xotic Bass BB Preamp which sounds almost identical. I'd check out a Tech21 VT Bass pedal, I think there's on in the classifieds. They are also great for recording with or when you have no amp and have to use the PA instead.
