1.
An SR5 is definitely going to be my next project, with or without Graphite.
The first bit is on the way
2. yea, it's the original MMSR5 one, PM me if you want it.
3. I have not used this bass in ages, but had it at rehearsal last night, it's a great bass in good condition, but I'm not using it at all. I need to sell it now, so what's it worth?
4. I went to see it again today, still getting clear coats, but the finish should be finished this week. I've settled on the switching combinations finally, it will be 2 nordstrand pups, with John East pre, a 3 way pup selector, and a single coil/humbucker switch for each pup. Chris is going to remove a small dent in the neck using a soldering iron, apparently?! It's a small dent at the bottom of the fingerboard at the dusty end, and I've never noticed it it while playing, but if it can be fixed it may as well be. I'm going to stick with the black scratch plate for now, but may go for a sabre/jazz style control plate and scratchplate combination in the future, or maybe just a different colour scratchplate. I'll leave it as is for now and decide about that later. In the mean time, I have the original pickup, scratchplate (with hole for coil tap switch) and preamp to sell, anyone have any idea what they're worth? I would keep them, but there's no going back now.
5. Mine arrived today, I'm off to rehearsal now so I'll report back later.

8. I had one of these for a few years, it's a great amp. Really handy to transport too.
9.
Also, could you bullet point the differences between the Thumpinator, and the Micro-thumpinator? [Keen to get one you see haha!]
The Thumpinator has a balanced input and output, the Micro thumpinator does not.
10.
Why is there only one Monopolies Commission?
Ha Ha
11. I think it can be used with 4 strings, but the frequency cut off is low enough for lowB, so lower than a 4 string can go, but should still cut off lots of the sub-bass inaudible stuff though. I think!

14. My Dad had 3 kids when he was still quite young, and he didn't have alot of disposable income, so he used to copy all his music, he still has a huge collection of blank casettes with albums on them. So the internet is just a more practical way for him to get his hands on music, though he has been buying a lot of CDs since I moved out and stopped draining him of all his money.
15.
Fopp is awful now. They're more interested in shifting sh*tty dvds at £2 a pop than being an actual record store.
I agree, it is terrible. It's owned by HMV, and they use it to shift old stock for pennies, and mostly dvds. I still get a kick out of browsing and shopping in the Oxfam record shop in Stockbridge (Edinburgh). I spent £30 there last week and bought 7 records, but they were all classics, nothing new to find on vinyl now.
16. I was in the Oxfam record shop today and picked up the Chris De Burgh album Spanish Train and Other Stories on vinyl, I always loved the title song as a kid, and I still do now. The album has dated a bit, but there's a lot still to like, the bass is great throughout. My girlfriend is still laughing at me for owning a Chris De Burgh album though. I imagine there could be a bit of p1$$ taking here too, but you should listen to it first.

19. I did think about it, but the cavity for the preamp is huge, so the chrome control plate would have to be too big. I still might try something like a Jazz control plate fitting into the scratchplate, like the sabre (I think).
20. Check out Hypnotic Brass Ensemble for some awesome Sousaphone bass lines, really funky. I'll put up a youtube link later, but I'm on my phone now.
21. No updates yet, I'll go and see it later. I hope the paint will be finished this week , and the pickups should be done next week. I'll hopefully have a few new pics later today.
