2. I'll be tweeting and facebooking your cry for help, Nik, starting from today. Hope someone comes to the rescue with talks or tests. I'll bring a small practice amp as a raffle prize.
3. I didn't because, y'know, the other act isn't King Ralph and this is a King Ralph thread! Aaanyway... the other act were the W7 Ukuleles and there must have been at least 30 of them on stage at some point.
4. More King Ralph action - this time at the Hanwell Carnival Social event at the Inn on the Green in W7 last Saturday.
5. Rob, you really, really should post this on the Warwick forum. Seriously. This is a great review
6. I'll tweet this. Hope you get it back. Edit: I also posted it on Basschat's Facebook page.
7. You're not going mad. It showed something "Queued" in red last night, and seemed to have been hidden for a while.
8. King Ralph took part in the Stand Up To Cancer fundraising day at The Fountain in Chingford on 5th October:
9. KK's guitarist Alan organised a Stand Up To Cancer fundraising day at The Fountain in Chingford on 5th October. These are some shots from the band's performance.

11. All the best, guys! If you take photos and would like me to create a blog entry in your name à la Midlands Bass Bash, just shout
12. Second time for the band in this small and friendly music pub. Come along if you're in the area
13. There were lots of other punters singing along and waving their hands! But that woman decided she wanted to be on stage Of all the Dogs gigs I've done photography for - now presumably in the region of a hundred or so - this was the one with the highest number of pics showing the band not just having fun, but laughing out loud while playing
14. Back at The Black Horse in Greenford on Sat 27th September for a cracking gig! https://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejay_my_photos/sets/72157647830502100/
15. The latest KK acoustic gig was at Library Bar in Islington on 24th September:
16. Ahhh, Mark The Dad giving way to Mark Discreet - good stuff
17.
This might sound strange, but you should try teaching him right-handed. I'm a lefty but learned right-handed. Having your most dexterous hand on the frets might offer more ease of playing. It did with me anyhow.
Totally disagree. Exactly the opposite for me. Let him decide what he feels more comfortable with, and take it from there. He can also do a Micheal Angelo Batio and learn to play both ways...
18. I'll tweet this final appeal later today. Well done to all involved.
19.
NBD - Young Master Discreet's Harley Harley-Benton, that is. Young master discreet (12) expressed a desire to learn the bass guitar after he saw the effect that being a bass player had on young women, so I bought him a Harley-Benton bundle - a P-Bass and a little HB amp with an 8" driver and a strap and cables, etc. from Thomann. Here he is, the moon-faced git. And such an expression of joy that can only be had from your very first bass. I wish this had been my first bass, as it's actually very playable indeed and is incredible value. The intonation and action were good and bizarrely it was almost in tune right out of the box. The amp's not half bad either for home practice and fortunately has a headphone socket... Thing is, he's a lefty... yes, I know. But it makes teaching him easier as we can use the 'mirror image' technique, which is actually quite handy for the swift transference of fingerboard knowledge. He still has a bit of work to do on his left hand, obviously (normally right hand - see how it is??) Still, he's happy for five minutes and no doubt will be suffering from GAS pretty soon... ...he already has his eye on my rig but there's NO WAY, buddy!!
Welcome to Bass from a fellow lefty! Bring him to a bassbash
That's great! I hadn't thought of the 'mirroring' advantage of teaching a leftie. Three year old mini-RR is showing signs of being a southpaw, and I was just about to break out the cattle prod for some corrective therapy - maybe I'll hold back
20. The band returns to this friendly community pub on Saturday. Come along if you're in the area!
21. Facebook event now created - join there! http://www.facebook.com/events/1549058281979920/
22. The design was the winning entry in a contest Warwick had on their discussion forum and their social media channels a year or two ago to celebrate their 30th birthday. Never meant to be a huge seller or even taken too seriously. (And there's no lefty version...!)
23. You may well have too much choice in this! http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?sw=just+a+nut
