1. Sounds good! I hope you get some interesting questions to put to Doug. And then, please write one of your awesome blogs/reports like you did for other visits in the past, and I'll be happy to read it and share it to our Twitter followers
2. I've never investigated the idea of hiring a school in London like Colin and Nik do for the SE bash in Addlestone. Or replying to one of those emails from Ealing Council who beg me to "book my event" in their function rooms (they do have a quite nice town hall in Ealing, I must say!). What does the London membership think of Rob's idea?
3. Central London would probably be a nightmare for access, parking and cost. Greater London might be feasible, but once again it might not suit everybody. For instance, finding a pub with a large function room and without excessive noise restrictions during the day (e.g. the George IV in Chiswick) might work, but those who would have to drive or - God forbid - tube it from the other end of town might prefer to give it a miss.
4. And then hid it from my camera, by the look of it!
5. I don't remember seeing an ACG 5... These were some of the basses in the area.
6. No Treble (the online bass mag) has just published an article on avoiding injury, and point 5 only touches the surface - our vid examines the topic in detail. See here.
7. Apologies for the rattles, squeaks and other noises - the camera's microphone was amplifying absolutely every sound coming its way, not just the speech as would have been far preferable.
8. LOL Sean, you do seem to have a problem with drummists Couple more pics from the jam room.
9.
Typical! A Bass Players conference and the blinking Drummist is center stage!
10. Just the one pic for the moment - taken in the foyer just before the raffle. Unfortunately quite a few people had had to leave before we took it.
11. Back home quite exhausted and in possession of the usual billion photos to sort and turn into a blog The bash was great fun and went along at a more relaxed pace than last year, which gave us the opportunity to chat to each other, catch up, compare notes on our gear and gigging experience, and laugh. Watch this space in the next week or so!
12. Is anyone bringing any guitars for the jam room?
13. Summary document with info now downloadable, printable and shareable here! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90710763/South%20East%20Bass%20Bash%20No%208.pdf

15. Hm, if you have any leeway in raising the pickup a bit, I'd still have a try. Or maybe tweaking the EQ/compression can help? Or installing a different set of strings (as in different gauges, maybe just for the D and G)?
16. assuming you've ascertained that it's not your D and G strings that are at fault, after you've loosened the screws at the D/G end of the pickup, you may need to carefully push down the pickup at the B/E/A end and carefully pull it up at the D/G end, so that it can learn its new position. Proceed in small steps. I did that on my Corvette for the same reason, and it now sounds just the way I like it. (The bass is a lefty model.) Edit: forgot to add that I also have my G positioned lower than the other strings at the saddle and nut - it takes less effort to play with my pinkie when I need to stretch my fretting hand for a tricky chord or similar.
17. Have you tried lifting the pickup so the end below the D ang G strings is closer to the strings themselves? (Not too close or the sound will distort). Sometimes half a millimeter can make a big difference. Tighten or loosen the screws around the pickup casing, as necessary. PS - Edited for clarity!

21. I'll be tweeting and facebooking your cry for help, Nik, starting from today. Hope someone comes to the rescue with talks or tests. I'll bring a small practice amp as a raffle prize.
22. I didn't because, y'know, the other act isn't King Ralph and this is a King Ralph thread! Aaanyway... the other act were the W7 Ukuleles and there must have been at least 30 of them on stage at some point.
23. More King Ralph action - this time at the Hanwell Carnival Social event at the Inn on the Green in W7 last Saturday.
24. Rob, you really, really should post this on the Warwick forum. Seriously. This is a great review
25. I'll tweet this. Hope you get it back. Edit: I also posted it on Basschat's Facebook page.
