1. KILLER rare rosewood board with skunk stripe normally only seen on one-piece necks...!!!! I'll be giving this some serious thought.
 2. If that was a rosewood board I'd be on me way to Wigan, now... ...and Karl; you have to top scrawling on them cushions. I'll not tell thi' again.
 3.
Just interested to know what's going on with the whitish patch above the strap button. Is that on top of the finish, worn through to primer, or what?
Looks like bare wood. Or as I call it: genuine lived-in Mojo. Beautiful.
 4.
Beedster: +1, I know where Si lives, he might see a dark shadow skulking in his garden with an empty bass case some evening soon
You're just going to nick the case? Mental. .
 5. At a mere two and a half grand that's the most desirable thing I've seen on here in yonks.
 6. Cool mods, bargain price. Good luck with the sale dude. Have a bump on me.
 7.
Leightweight 4,3 kg, superb condition: 100% original bass, frets, neck, lacquer, truss rod. 70'ies funk sound par excellence, easier to handle than most of these basses which are beyond 5 kg. With case € 2650 EURO
V. nice. Oh yes.
 8.
Not sure that helps the cause? Are you a salesman?
It's no more speculative than any other reply. I thought it might prompt anyone with a greater knowledge of these things to note that the regular Mex 70's classic series reissue has p'ups in the correct seventies position, whereas this obviously hasn't. Sincerest apologies for trying to help. I promise I won't do it again. No, really, I promise.
 9.
MIM Classic 60s/70s series, surely?
I imagine these will be something like a routing error on a batch of bodies so they've cobbled them together and knocked them out as an historically inaccurate classic no-date. .
 10.
I appear to have lost the facility for paragraphs.....
In 'More Reply Options' or in 'Quote' mode.... click the 'Toggle Editing Mode' icon in the top right hand corner of the reply window.
 11.
I've always loved the Bass V, but I'm not quite sure why.
Could be because it's an absolutely ace and totally cool instrument. Hope this helps.
 12.
...I've never noticed a difference tonally between the 2 and 3 knob models though.
I have. It's about the capacitors.
 13. Classic. Shame about the changes. I'd have bitten your hand off at £1700 but for those. Nice refin, tho'. How 'stuck' is that Deadhead?
 14. Nice. That scratchplate is a good rep. Good luck with the sale 'rooster.
 15. Everything about that post is heartwarming. Soul-lifting. ^ Hope you can deal, lads. Come back GraySilva... and get yer lad signed up, too. .
 16.
i m interresred by the neck!!!!!!!!
Me too.
 17.
Look, ok, I admit it, like the long lost prodigal son, I have been found, and am most grateful for all of your searching, and as a mark of respect to you all, I am only too happy to answer ANY questions that you may have concerning my past 16 or so years, indeed, any other topics may also be considered. I can't, however, promise I'll respond every day, or that any of your prayers will be answered (as in Bruce Almighty) that would be silly, but I will do my best to communicate as frequently as possible. 'Keep the faith'
Yeah... but what about that legs thing, man?
 18.
Ah, yes, I see..hmph. I am graciously honoured, and somewhat bemused at the comments that you have all made. Yes, indeed, it's no longer a mystery, I admit it, its me.. I was hard up at the time, and was desperate for a new set of strings which bassist magazine gave as a reward for writing in. Id boiled my old Elites in water and vinagar and they were sh..ed. They did cock up the article and forgot to include my name, but after a couple of faxes they got it right, and I was duly rewarded with a couple of sets (5 string) of Rotosound strings. Trace Elliot loved the article and gave me some goodies including a T shirt and a guitar strap that I still use. The bass was indeed a Bass Collection SB315, and I had replaced the pickups with the famous BassLines actiives...They sounded FAT. I still use the 1x18 bottom cab (it was custom made for me by Trace, and has been 100% reliable. (I have literally used it for hundreds of gigs). I still use the 4x5 bright box, but have replaced the 2x10 with a Trace 4x10. I still gig regularly in and around the Coventry/Midlands areas, and yes, I am, Fran Pettifer.....(the waistcoat, sadly, was stolen at a gig), I've sold the Bass Collection, and now use a Yamaha TRB5p.
You are a 'kin legend, Sir. Don't disappear... we need your blood, man. Just curious: what was going on with the legs thing...?
 19.
tokai is gone!
B****cks. That'll teach me to get up earlier.
 20.
Thanks for that Gareth, I'll get the bass dated maybe you should get a life. Dave
No need to do that, Dave. Do it yourself. Have a look at the heel of the neck.
 21.
Exactly! No zoom required - it's an N6- - - - - so in my book it's a USA made in '96 & looks just how a American Standard, (with a 50th anniversary badge) should look. The thing is being advertised as something it ain't, I'm pretty damn certain of that
This. All this.
