  1. FS - professionally wired (vintage Japanese Fender) bell plate with new CTS pots and a Bare Knuckle oil filled capacitor (no knobs)= £30 posted https://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/shop/product/jensen-bkp-capacitor https://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/shop/product/bkp-custom-audio-taper-280k-cts-standard-shaft-pot
  2. Difficult one trying to recommend a rig for some else .. I tried loads of setups but find it hard to justify having expensive gear when only playing in small venues / pubs etc. Part of my issue is worrying about it getting stolen or trashed so I've gone back to a simple setup : GK 400RB Bagend D12-D J&D jazz bass (modded) Warmoth jazz bass No pedals anymore so 'grit' comes from cranking the amp & 'riding the GK rails' one of the best grind sounds I've heard (my alternative would be using Darkglass B7K or similar), Bagend cab is heavy so no one is going to run away with it lol but I may go lighter (Barefaced) if we gig more, jazz basses just work for me so a cheap modded one is ideal plus a nicer one for home / recording & certain gigs. I was saving for an expensive amp but just couldn't justify it .. In your case 'Stealth' I'd consider either the new Darkglass 500 with a good 4 ohm cab if that's the kind if grit you like or get the quietest (hiss free) amp (I'd go Glockenklang) & find a dirt pedal you like ... hope some of this helps
  3. Just done a deal with George, great comms & payment as promised, deal with confidence
  4. Orange one is Thorpyfx Trex clone
  5. Modded some chrome hardware to black & indeed passive with just a volume knob .. sounds even better passive, however I’ve decided to reinstall the preamp & sell on. As great as this bass is I don’t want to take it to the kind of gigs I do & too good for just home use .. I will stick with passive jazz basses, they just work for me ...
  6. My (fs) Little Lehle will switch between the two & is isolated & doesn’t require power .. shameless plug
  7. Great comms, immediate payment .. deal with confidence guys

  21. FS- BagEnd D12-D 4 Ohm bass cab, two full range custom Eminence ceramic speakers (no tweeter), which originally had an intergrated power amp but I removed (& sold) then sealed the hole with ply & hooked up a neutrik speakon. I've only used it a couple of times at studio but last time I paired with my GK 400RB-IV (also FS) & Darkglass B7K and it just roared ! If heavy rock/metal is your thing then this is a fantastic match .. I think these BagEnd cabs like to be cranked. £400 Check out Talkbass about this brand, old school type construction (18mm ply) & heavy ceramic drivers .. great tone but comes at a price = weight 33kg (bathroom scales), but quite compact 28.5"h x 18.5"w x 15.5"d One of the original drivers had a slight crease in the cone so Bagend sent a brand new replacement which I installed. This cab has never been gigged & only used a studio / rehearsal twice ! http://bagend.com/wp...15/06/D12-D.pdf DIY 112 cab (8 Ohm) I built using a Bagend speaker I took out of my 212 as it was replaced under warranty due to a slight crease on the cone, which doesn't affect it at all. £150 Dimensions are : H 18" W 15.5" D 15" Inputs are neutrik speakon with parallel out & cab is made out of ply & built to very similar spec to the original, not as well finished but still a great cab. These ceramic Bagend speakers (custom made by eminence) are very efficient but don't put out lots of low end which can be a good thing. However, stacking these two cabs really brings some magic ! You will need an amp that does 2 (2.67) Ohm. Here's a link to original cab for spec etc as this DIY is very close : http://bagend.com/wp...15/06/S12-D.pdf Simon Ps. I'd rather you checked cab out in person really to make sure you're happy .. It's loud btw lol Pps. 112 looks bigger than 'half' the 212 but is actually only 1.5 inches more than half. It just looks more on the photo than in the flesh (wood)
