Looks good Lee650 ... so how about a little demo of the kind of various sounds you can get out of your setup ? Hoping video files can be added to threads Moderators ? This applies to all BCers with pedal boards, just think it would make this thread even better. (I’m awaiting some new switches for my ‘ramp’ pedal so I’ll post once new board complete lol)

Which bass cab and amp do I need for a small studio?
sifi2112 replied to EgorI's topic in Amps and Cabs
I wouldn’t try competing with the pros unless you intend to try make some money out of it .. studio we record bought a Neve preamp & fancy mic (for bass drum) that set him back £2.5 grand or so .. pro level gear gets real expensive quickly, just look a the prices of studio compressors etc ... -

As most people are going ‘featherweight’ you could go the other way & get the (older) heavy stuff as there’s a lot of great quality gear going pretty cheap coz no one wants to lug it not a problem for you if it stays put in your studio. Just make sure if you go combo you can unplug the speaker so you have the option of try different amps (or cabs) & maybe look for quiet fans or convection cooling if mixing at low volume. Also, cranking a small amp might be desirable opposed a large powerful amp .. just my 2c -
That 1001rb head is said to be too powerful to get the classic GK growl (I’ve only had 700 & 400) but might if you’re having to drive the 210 hard (don’t blow it) .. the price definitely looks good if all’s working well

Yeah sounded fab at rehearsal.. Darkglass B7K driving it a bit a harder & had some volume spare, was at maybe 80% so it passed the stage level requirement. However it wasn’t as easy to move with the castors as I’d hoped so I’ve now added a top strap / little plastic corners & replaced heavy castors with rubber feet as I’ve got a telescopic sack cart to move it. Unfortunately there’s still just one down side it just too heavy to gig regular for me. I keep all my gear on 2nd floor. I’m guessing around 35kg as it feels similar to my Bagend 212 which weighs that much .. the ply I used is quite heavy but real quality & I maybe over built it a bit. The GK weighs 6kg so I could put a super light class D in ... still it looks good & more importantly sounds great !

Given away - large pro quality flight case, not sure of weight but decent for its size, 12kg ? no scales, heavy duty castors (2 locking), foam interior for original equipment it was made for but could be either removed/added to or cut down. Hex Astro type board. Too big to post .. I’ve tried to get all measurements in photos. Width & depth slight different hence the extra pic with tape measure

Withdrawn - HH HPA3000 power amplifier in good condition. £50 (excluding £10 postage) - 250w @ 4 Ohm per channel -500w @ 8 Ohm bridged - link channels A > B for mono two channel or bridged - speaker jack or banana outs - banana out for bridged (will include high quality gold hicon banana plugs to Neutrik Speakon & Klotz 4mm 90cm cable) - ground lift - Convection cooling (no noisy fan so excellent for studio recording etc) - Beefy toroidal transformer - Weight dunno, 7kg or so - Depth +/- 30cm (incl banana posts) Sounded great with Sansamp I used to have but going away from rack gear hence sale. Currently housed in Aguilar 3U rack bag which is not included in this sale but could be as it’s listed here : Just taken out for pics

I’ve tried a few including a onespot but this gets my vote as quietest so far .. https://booinstruments.com/guitar-effects/raad-regulated-9vdc-power-supply-replacement-for-boss-psa-240-psa-230/

Well actually ‘old’ amp but new cab (combo) .. I decided to build combo for my Gallien-Krueger 400RB II & put in a new 4 Ohm Faitalpro 15PR400 speaker to maximize the full output of the GK .. Big thanks to Stevie for all his help (and patience) cheers mate !

Great to do another deal with Will .. been too long .. he was also kind enough to indulge me & let me try various quality gear he has. Deal with confidence guys

SOLD - DIY cab I built out of 12mm ply (baffle is 24mm). It was originally for a Faitalpro 15pr400 but I’ve replaced it with a speaker from a Harley Benton HB300 combo. Faital to now be used in a new cab (combo) as I want to install my amp & make a combo .. unless you really want the Faital as well lol ... Anyway, the cab sounds pretty good, doesn’t have a tweeter & is 8 Ohms, also not heavy but I don’t have scales to way .. not gonna post at this price, I’m in Bingley West Yorkshire btw

> Mooer E-lady > One Control Mosquito > (wet loop) Moog MF Delay (Zander Little Monster to ramp oscillations/feedback & wet loop volume knob to keep it under control & trails) > Darkglass B7K > DI &/or amp ... Mono lite just squeezes into Thomann case

I’ve used their guitar pocket amp the same way for a few years for bass & it is really good for practice & play along with iPhone etc .. bet the bass version is better .. only thing I’d say regarding your review is that you could actually show how it sounds .. I do realise it was just a ‘quick ‘ review tho
