Gain at levels over about number 7 kicks in the limiter - this makes it sound a bit 'saggier' and thicker. Sort of valvier if thats your thing but not fuzzy. Keep the gain down below that and push the master volume and it cleans up the sound.

Same here - i grabbed one as an experiment after having poor experiences with other class D amps (slam, heft blah blah...) Its an amazing little bit of kit and provides most of what i was missing from other class D's. I'm 4 gigs in with it and loving it. The unusual tone controls are very intuitive as long as you spend 10 minutes having a think and a fiddle at home to understand them. It sounds huge in a band situation through a couple of Barefaced cabs using a good P Bass. Loads of heft, plenty of volume and no flattening of the low end when you crank it - the sound stays consistent when you get loud with it. The clever limiting is easy to hear when you run the gain over 7 and the sag begins to appear or you can keep it clear and clean with lower gain and higher master. Really impressed with it 🙂

I had one and didn't notice a massive difference between the 2 channels EQ tbh - it was quite subtle. It was mainly the Gain that made a difference. Channel B was just a touch fatter and valvey sounding, Channel A was crisper.

It's because you've switched the valves in.......it's supposed to make it a bit warmer (or muddier if you like) 😉

If its within warranty you should be dealing with the vendor not the distributor - they're trying to dodge out of their responsibility by passing you on

Absolutely this! Our shedbuilder invested in one about 3 months ago - same issues, he's naturally loud so the volumes creep up for everyone blah blah....... We thought we'd only use it on certain gigs where we are scaring the landlord but we've found that our whole sound is miles better with it and now use it almost all the time. As well as limiting the overall drum volume its tightened the whole sound up and i can slot the bass in a lot easier with the kick (which we put thru the pa/sub). Nobody's suffering from cymbal ears any more either. We can get a great controlled beefy sound at lower volumes. Its also a great topic of conversation with the crowd - especially when we tell them we fill it with water in the second set :-) And we're looking for some stick on Garfields to stick on the inside where he cant each them whilst he's playing.

Sandberg California necks are more like a Jazz neck - very much skinnier than a 'Ray in all dimensions
