Since this thread didn't sell I'm relisting it and adding £100 to the BIN.

J Arthur Palmer could be a very very subtle multi-layered pun. You need to start with J Arthur Rank and then work hard on the PALMer bit. or it could just be the guy's name.

Vintage MIJ (formerly J@pCr@p) Spotting

So now we can add "valued by Simon Catherall Curlsgirls of FabGroovy" to the list of things that add credibility to your eBay ads. -
Perhaps it was going to be a 7-string, but he couldn't find three different sized tuners?
Check this one out, this ad has it all. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-SQUIRE-PRECIS...=item19c184a3d5
He's underselling it. These Korean Squire's are much rarer than the Squiers made in Japan. Don't ask about couriers, or he'll set TIM on you.
Cheers seen the thread ta ! Any more for any more ? Someone must have sent a bass insured to europe ?
Yes. I've sent basses to France, Spain, Italy, and probably somewhere in the Nordics I've forgotten about, but I've never had to insure for anything like the figure you quoted. I always go to interparcel.com and pick the best deal from a global courier, usually UPS or Fedex. I use the cheaper non-guaranteed services, because they've never failed to pickup as arranged and never failed to deliver in a few days (depending on distance) without damage. If you're going though interparcel, and quoting someone a shipping cost in advance, remember to add insurance and VAT to the initial price you get quoted on the site. If you want to know definitely how much insurance is, you'll have to go through the whole booking process up to the credit card bit and cancel out. Insuring to £500 was £10 last time I looked. For eBay sales I add another 10% for packing, fees and contingency.

This one Don't be confused by the price which appears to be in Rand, it's sterling, they're in Kent and it came today from Sunday order. Nice case. Tight fit for your bass though. You might have to slit the lining, cut out some of the padding and glue the lining back.

I've now found a new HSC for my recently acquired Ripper, so this Protec case is no longer needed. It's a rigid frame covered with heavy duty canvas-type material, padded with foam and polystyrene and lined with black faux fur. Interior dimensions: overall length 116cm, body length 53cm, max body width 39cm, min body width 33cm, headstock cavity length 22cm, depth 6.5cm. There is a bit of flexibility in the length, the Ripper at 118cm was going in ok, but pushing slightly on the end. It has an interior compartment and an external pocket. It's tatty on the outside and has been repaired inside, but is a serviceable case for larger basses for not much money. EDIT of the edit: Full description and more pics on eBay [s]If anyone wants to do a deal around £15 including shipping send me a PM by Thurs 16th Dec. [/s] SOLD
home delivery network are getting a bad reputation. throwing items over back garden fences. i have has two items damaged in transit by them. cheap company with unsatisfied poorly paid drivers. i will never use them again. the local driver here picks up and drops off stuff in her beaten up car full of kids! i dare say you will get your maney back but it takes ages and they usually use tactics and expect you to just give up. took me over six months once. that was not hdn though.
+1 My daughter used to have stuff delivered here by HDNL. The driver would turn up in her own car with no uniform, badge or identification. Several times, when they were supposed to pick up returns we had a "you weren't in" card when we were. Once the doorbell rang, I went to the door, no one there. We live on a high street, it happens. Bit later the bell goes again, there's the HDNL driver, she'd "popped into the shoe shop next door". Big problem with using your local PO for international shipping, UPS through a consolidator like Interparcel is actually cheaper and you know who's responsible for it all the way.

Of course, if you're looking at this auction, you already know "what this is"/"how good these are". Despite this presumption of foreknowledge, I will continue to tell you, at great length, where it was made, how rare it is, how well it plays despite the missing string, how much these have gone for in my coke-fueled dreams and anything connecting it with Matsumoko or Ibanez that I can crib from someone called Bassaspirin on Basechat.

There's precedents for bass forum specials - over on The Last Bass Outpost they commissioned BaCH to produce a run of non-rev Thunderbird clones. They were cheap, but not £50 cheap, and BaCH have now put them into commercial production. Needs someone with time and patience to babysit the supplier, though, if you're at all bothered about the spec you get. Then there were the Dudepit LE Laklands and Bongos, probably the less said about those the better.

I have a set of Rotosound Jazz Flats in medium scale, standard gauge, light blue silks. They have actually been on a bass for only a few hours and barely played, not because there's anything wrong with them, just I realised the strings I'd taken off were TIs and it seemed a shame to waste them. There's just a tiny bit of fraying right at the ends where they were cut and wound on the post. In original packaging. [s]These are currently for sale at Stringbusters for £22.50 + postage, so I'll post these within the UK for £10. [/s] *** SOLD *** Winding length (ball-end to start of tuner-end silk) is 90cm on the G. I've measured the full length, ball-end to where they were cut, so you can see what total length you have on each string, plus the weight, listed below. G 105cm 40 D 109cm 50 A 108cm 75 E 106cm 90 EDIT or would trade for a set of good condition, good brand long or extra long scale flats.
