Yes, looks good. There's extra banding on the ribs that I don't usually see on Czechs (someone correct me?). The strings are SpiroMitts but the tail silks look unfeasibly long. There is a bit of scope to shorten the tail wire so the tailpiece sits lower on the body. That could help the silks to clear the bridge. Bit strange though. Are the strings 4/4 by any chance?

Is your car a hatchback? Sorry don't know hyundais very well. If it is you'll need a cover with at least three handles down the front: one at the top, one near the bridge and one at the bottom. I didn't see those on the eBay one, although £50 looks a great price. I've got two cases from Thomas Martin. They are strong, light and have the handles in the right places. And they're not expensive.

Don't be afraid. It'll be the best introduction to playing jazz and you'll get a lot of enjoyment/satisfaction from the experience. You're very welcome to PM me if any problems come up, or something you need better understanding of.

Yes, USAF great. We used to do lot at Fairford in the sixties and all of the above apply. Vodka and Seven Up was a popular tipple, and Camels. We were gathering at the Belle Vue at Cheltenham ready to go and somebody came in and said JFK had been shot. And I don't think we ever went back. Did Greenham too.

The first stage I stood on was at the Royal Albert Hall when I was twelve and was in the choir for the Festival of Remembrance. With the RaH and BBC TV audiences it must have been in the millions. Since then it's gone downhill. Playing the bass, I suppose some of the European jazz festivals with the Pete Allen Band must have pulled in up to 3k.

It has quite a 'grown up' middle eight melody but the chords under it are surprisingly simple.

Get hold of the Julie London version on Spot. The instrumentation is quite sparse so you should be able to hear the bass line. The guitar by Barney Kessel is sublime.
