1. I've been waiting for my Super Twelve since May... due date keeps getting pushed back but I was expecting it last week... now I'm wondering if I'll ever get it =/
2. Arrgh those cables from effectspowersupplies are still out of stock!! I'm tempted by the Diago Patchfactory cables even though they cost more than twice as much as regular cables... I got my Pedaltrain Mini yesterday by the way, and I've ordered the Diago Micropower9... although I got a call the day after I ordered to tell me that the 18v adapter and daisy chain were out of stock... Why not show it as out of stock on the website then!? Hate it when companies do that. Have to wait 1 - 2 weeks for it now. Any longer than that and I'm cancelling and buying elsewhere. Added to that, my Sansamp has just turned faulty so I can't complete my board till it's fixed anyways This is turning out to be more of a pain in the arse than I'd imagined!!
3. Hi guys, I'm having a little trouble with my Sansamp BDDI. Something is definately up with it, could be just an issue with one or two knobs, or something more serious with the circuits inside. So I usually use the pedal with the drive at about 1-2 o clock, & presence between 3 & 4 o clock. When I turned up to practice the other day there was literally no overdrive coming out and turning the drive knob from 0 - fully on made no difference. Then I turned presence up full and there was a pop and a little crackle, and it started making a strange pulsing noise even though i wasnt playing anything. so backed off that knob to about 5 o clock, the pulsing stopped, but now the overdrive was crazy when i played my bass; 1 o clock on the drive was an insane horrible sounding overdrive, and i had to back it off to around 9 o clock to get anything usable... First off, anyone else experienced something like this? And second, any recommendations on what to do to get it sorted? Cheers Johnny
4. ah mate if I didn't have so much other gear on my shopping list right now I'd buy the Super Synth for sure! Looks fantastic.
5. Ahh I'm a couple weeks away from getting my Barefaced S12, seems like such a long wait Can't believe I've still not heard the Terror Bass yet, gonna give it a go when I pop into the Bass Gallery in a week or two.
6. Ok cheers for the responses guys that sounds rather reassuring about the stageclix. The G50 does look good but Stageclix seems far more convenient for my needs. Will definately be getting one at some point in the near future. I've decided to prioritise getting set up with in ear monitors first though as I wanna keep my eardrums intact when I start gigging again with my hardcore band in a month or two! £350 can get me a pair of Alienears G8's!
7. Time to resurrect this thread I guess! To all you wireless users, which do you think is better? Line 6 G50 or Stageclix Jack? Things I like about the Stageclix are that you can use the receiver as a battery charger which is super handy, and I'm thinking a jack would be easier than a pack... I cba with the cables and trying to attach it to my strap. The one thing putting me off is that my mate who has tried out both said that the stageclix was pretty plasticy, didnt feel that solid. Doesnt sound right seeing as the G50 is cheaper and made of metal right? cheers
8. Sweet, cheers mate, will be ordering one soon then those patch cables look pretty decent too!
9. Ok so I'm building a nice and tidy pedal board this month, gotta be small & portable, I only really use pedals that shape the tone and just leave them on most of the time. I've got a polytune, sansamp BDDI, Aguilar tone hammer & dunlop dc brick... will need space for a compressor, possibly the aggi TLC, and probably the stageclix wireless system. So my questions: 1: just how much can I fit onto a Pedaltrain Mini? (if its too small, please recommend something usable ) 2: Cabling: I wanna make this thing real neat and tidy; what are your cable reccomendations? Are Lava cables worth it? Cheers guys Johnny
10. I have a Mag 600 & 4x10 & 1x15 just sitting at home since I got my new gear... They were great for bigger shows but when you're on small stages or at pub gigs where you only need 1 cab you miss the convenience of a combo that you can tilt up, rather than your half-stack blasting your feet... Do they not do a Mag600 combo? By the way with the combo's you can attach an extra cab anyways, so you could sit the combo on top of a 4x10 or another 2x10
11. thanks for explaining that so clearly Plumbob, makes perfect sense now. It does seem like a really good option, but I've no idea how many direct outs you'll find on the average desk at a gig that are available for comandeering. if theres less than 6 then its probably not worth it. anyone know much about what to expect from your average desk at a half-decent venue?
12. Looked into the Jamhub a little more and while it's cool I don't think it has enough channels... We have 2 guitars, 3 vox, bass, drums, & the backing track. "The simplest way would be to send the signal from the macbook into 2 channels of the desk. Adjust the audio files so that the track comes out of the left channel, and the click out of the right. Attach your IEMs into the aux channels and send the click to the Aux but not front of house." This looks like a decent way to do it, but means you have to rely on the PA desk having enough aux outs and that varies from gig to gig, should be fine for most but for the odd one or two sh*tty pub gigs it could be an issue right? still struggling to figure out how that behringer system works =/ Thanks for all the responses so far Johnny
13. Yeah I was thinkin you'd have to face that problem no matter what. If you were to put it all into a rack, what would that look like? Would jus Be the transmitters in There right? Can't rack the jamhub
14. Hmm that's really interesting. I had seen a jamhub in dv247 last year and thought 'wow that'd be cool' and then forgot about it lol. Do you definitely need headphone amps as well as the jamhub? With this kinda setup wouldn't it be a little complicated to sort out at a gig? Would need two di's/mics for each channel as it still all needs to go into the house pa right? Thanks
15. Firstly, hi from Stockholm Arlanda airport! As I've been thinking about in ear monitoring the last couple days I thought I'd pose the question to you fellas on here while I have bags of time slowly drinking my pint in the airport... Here goes: So my band is a loud metal band, we play to a backing track which comes from the drummer's MacBook, into an interface and then into the PA. the drummer uses in ears for a direct feed from the laptop. He gets the click in his ears but it doesn't go into the PA. what I'm asking is do you guys know how we can set up a wireless monitoring system where the other four of us in the band can use wireless in ears and each have our own monitor mix? There are systems around which have one transmitter and four receivers which we looked at but they only transmit one mix. Btw we will want the click in our ears also. Our drummer has a pair of custom mould monitors from www.alienears.com, not sure if you guys have heard of them? He says they're awesome, way cheaper than ultimate ears. So yeah hope I have explained my situation clearly enough, hope to hear back from yous with some Basschat wisdom
16. Hi mate, the Bergantino NV610 is an incredible cab, really punchy, and really blasts out what you put into it without alot of colouration of the tone. I recently sold mine however and I've got a Super Twelve arriving this week or next week. I just didnt see the need for such a big cab. It weighs in at around 46kg and getting it up and down the narrow staircase of a terraced house every time I had a gig was what made me sell it. I have yet to try a Super Twelve but from what I've read it should be more than loud enough for any of the gigs I'm likely to do at this point in time. If you dont mind the weight and lugging a 610 around, then by all means, get the Berg, its quality. But the super 12 would definately make life easier, and still be more than loud enough. Glad to hear you're enjoying your S12 Eddie, what happened to your Agguilar amp? I'm still loving the Traynor
17. I used to use fast fret quite regularly but I stopped because I didn't like how even after you've wiped it off, it still leaves the strings rather slippery and you get the stuff all over your fingers
18. Ahhh I still really want one of these! Gotta wait and see what my rig will sound like once I've got my S12 & my pedal board is sorted before I can even think about it though. Doubt I'll need one but it'd be nice to have an amp thats so light... vs my 24Kg all valve one still, even that beats an SVT hands down!
19. Yeah thats true, my Fender USA Deluxe Jazz is about to go in for a setup; the factory setup has way too much tension on the strings. Played it through the PA with my BDDI the other night and it actually sounded a bit like a double bass when I played fingerstyle much eq'ing needed! & new strings haha. Although I restrung a few weeks ago and the strings were completely dead in two days!
20. +1 for Roqsolid, got one of their covers for my Traynor YBA300, well made & durable, even got a lil pocket on the front for cables. Will be hitting them up again once my Barefaced Super Twelve arrives in a few weeks!
21. hey what do you guys think of the squire vm jazz? thinking of perhaps getting one to replace my beaten up old MIM Jazz for my hardcore band, tuned Db Ab Db Gb. Also, not sure if a P-bass might be better for the job?
22. just how loud do these things go?
23. they're pretty decent, especially as you've always got your bass right there ready to play... I'd have to agree about the fixings though... it held my 4 string fine, but a few weeks after i got my brand new USA deluxe Jazz V bass though i came home from work to find the whole thing had fallen off the wall... one screw snapped in half the other two just fell right out...
24.
We all start with smaller gear & it progressively gets bigger & bigger & then gets smaller again!
haha yeah thats what happened to me! I've had the Mag 600 & 4x10 since i was 16, added a Mag 1x15 to it a year or so later... that rig saw me through hundreds of gigs back in the day... its a beast! It's still sitting in the corner of my room waiting to be sold off now that i've got a shiny new rig have fun with it dude!
25. I'm not sure how these compare against each other, but this weekend I went and saw a friend of mine play bass, and he used both together; his USA Jazz bass into the Sansamp BDDI into the Tone Hammer, using my Traynor YBA 300.... I've gotta say, it was the best bass tone I've ever heard! Will be ordering a Tone Hammer of my own as a result
