Another retirement sale item, the very impressive MXR M80 pedal and power supply/adaptor. In very good used condition and everything works as it should. Happy for it to be road tested at my place or I can post for around a fiver. A bit of the advertising blurb down below. Manufacturer's ID: JD-M80 Finally, all the essentials in one tough little box, You need a serious D.I. for playing live and laying down killer tracks. You've got to have a preamp and finely tuned EQ to add punch to your tones. This one-of-a-kind pedal gives you the whole deal in a bomb-proof enclosure that will survive even the most out of control gigs-and players. Built with the highest quality components, the M-80 can give you everything from warmth and transparency to a volcanic roar, without making you scroll through menu screens or an indecipherable manual. Engage the color switch for some sweet preset EQ, then tweak your tone with three band control. Dial in your ideal distortion with the gain knob and blend just the right amount into your clean signal, then kick it on and off at will. The adjustable noise gate pours on the sustain and cuts out hum and hiss. With XLR and parallel 1/4" outputs and a phantom power switch, you'll never have a problem delivering your choice new tones. I'm also selling this great little effects unit

No more gigging for me, so my very well looked after Barefaced Big Baby 3rd Generation cab is up for sale. As can be seen in the photos, the condition is excellent. It can be road tested here with either my Galien Kruger or TC electronics heads (unless they sell first). Given that I'm selling due to retirement, no trades thanks. I would prefer collection but will discuss couriers and costs if required.

Setting up a P Bass, Action and Nut Slots
gary mac replied to Chienmortbb's topic in Repairs and Technical
I fit a lot of these on customers instruments. Highly recommended, nicely cut slots and self lubricating. They usually need a little shaping/sanding for an exact fit but easy enough to do, with small files and varying grades of sand paper or micromesh. -

That’s a looker, like it.👍 -
Pete purchased my fretless Fender/Manson bass and collected it yesterday. A pleasure to deal with, no drama, no messing about. Another of the Bass Chat good guys. Recommended.

Was just offering an alternative, wasn't sure that you were absolutely set on a combo. No worries, just offering advice as I had to seriously lighten the load and make things easier, after surgery.

One of the decent small heads and a Barefaced Super Compact would be a great choice.Due to back problems and other health issues I had to go the lightweight route. I used Galien Kruger and Genz amps with a SC in some very loud situations.👍

I'm not playing much these days, so time to start selling some kit. This is an instrument that I put together a few years back from quality parts. I know full well that as a bitsa, I would be able to part it out and get a better return, it plays so well though, that I find myself reluctant to go with that option. So, at least for now, it's for sale as is. The neck is a Manson build and not easy to source. A lovely unlined fretboard and fitted with a brass nut. Fender Japan body, lightly aged. High quality Babicz bridge. Aged tuners, good quality but I can't recall the make. Seymour Duncan SB3 pickups. Aged control knobs. The condition is very good, all hardware and electronics function as they should. Weight is 9lb. No case with this, so I collection is preferable. We can discuss postage options if necessary. Maybe £495 was a bit ambitious, so reduced to £450

I went with Barefaced, after even Markbass cabs became too heavy following some surgery. My rig was a Super Compact and Little Baby. That combo was gigged in pubs, clubs and open air festivals and to me, always sounded great.

I do plenty of re-wires on hollow bodied guitars and basses. Aquarium airline tubing is what I use. -
I would try to introduce a little back bow in the neck by the use of a straight edge and clamps (there are videos on Youtube). You might find that you can then loosen the screw more easily. If that doesn't work, then applying heat via a soldering iron held against the screw, often does the trick.

I'm assuming you're talking about a jack with three lugs? If that's the case then you need to swap the two black wires around.

Having worked on a Sire bass for a customer and trying to source parts for it, I wouldn't personally ever buy one.
-
That’s a very cool looking, handsome bass.

Is my bullet truss rod okay? AVRI 75 JAZZ

If you’re happy with the amount of relief in the neck now, take a measurement and then check it over a few days. If it doesn’t move, then happy days , stop worrying and enjoy 👍 -

I wouldn't worry, the washer has done the trick but as a consequence the nut doesn't wind in as far. Exactly what I would expect.
