  1. I've always liked that bass, I know it's only a cheapie but it's always looked, 'right', and as I mentioned it was stupidly cheap down to a tiny rub, now almost polished out, where someone had been careless putting it back on it's hanger and they'd had it there for ages. Results for me.
  2. Just come back from a couple of days in Cornwall, popped into Trago at Liskeard whilst we were there and came out with this, I didn't need it, it was so cheap I couldn't leave it there. Just finished fitting the obligatory ship's cables...
  3. Practice this evening.
  4. Funnily enough, yes, several times, usually when someone bought one of our cd's at a gig. The most memorable one was after we'd done a support for a very good Sabbath tribute, myself and Kev (guitarist) were stood watching said tribute and a couple of ladies came over and wanted us both to sign their cd's, which always feels odd to me, anyway we obliged, had a chat and thanked them very much for their support, and pointed out our singer stood just down the hall, "F**k him", came the reply, "Big headed tw*t"....🤣 It's 2 years to the day since we buried Kev, he always loved to tell that story.
  5. Tonight's practice rig
  6. Tbh if I already had a Big Twin and wanted more I think I'd get another if I wanted to run at 2ohms that badly. Stand them side by side and let people marvel at their girth.
  7. The base price is the same as a super compact £749
  8. Brilliant, my old 83 Tokai Jazz has very similar tuners, I'll be re-purposing a Bulldog Clip very soon.
  9. Yeah still got the Matamp, couldn't be bothered to dig it out, I like the H.O.D, it does what I want, but saying that so do the others I've got 😄.
  10. First practice for us in over 2 years, and the first since losing Kev, our guitarist to covid in January 2021, we'll be having more.
  11. That was our standard tuning, I always used the Fender 5 string .130 taperwound set and left out the .110
  12. Never any other sort of memory after gigging with Sutton & Co, top men. He could have been a comedian.
  13. Always loved the Macc Lads. Trigger McPoopshute from South Wales could be considered offensive I suppose if you're that way inclined, personally I think they're hilarious and if you know the area they're from and some of the characters in their songs doubly so, songs like 'Skidmarks and Spencers', 'Give and Take', 'Special Needs Druglord' and 'Telford Suicide W*nk Palace', deserve their own place in punk history. More power to them.
  14. When I decided to bite the bullet and get a valve head I borrowed a 100w custom made head off a friend to try at a band practice, admittedly we were stupid loud, but I couldn't even hear it and that was through my Barefaced Four10, that's why I went Matamp, I've never had a problem hearing that. Indeed one evening I decided to treat Kev (R.I.P) to a taste of his own medicine and 2 songs in was treated to a cry of, "For f***s sake turn that thing down!"
  15. Well if you want a Matamp get your order in quick, they recently announced a significant price rise, due to everything they use rising in cost, that will be coming soon.
  16. Sometimes other amps and basses, whatever I fancied taking, the Quilter Bassblock 800 was usually the amp of choice if space was at a premium travelling.
  17. If you're buying new and it's for bass why not go the extra £150 and get the GT200, only the one channel, but if it's for bass you won't be sorry.
  18. We played with...., Children Of The Gravy, a couple of times. Don't think I really need to say they're a Sabbath tribute. They're actually very good, we played with a few and COTG were the only ones that didn't bill themselves as, 'The UK's foremost/finest/best/premier Sabbath tribute'. And they were all the better for not making that claim as they wiped the floor with all the others.
