1.
On hold for Jim at the moment.
PM replied to Paul...
  2.
Say £100 with the software/plugins etc
Is it boxed & complete with the manual, discs, leads, etc...? Photos would be appreciated if possible please. Thanks.
  3. Here's my '74 Telebass II. Love it to bits. The bottom end from one of these babies could knock down a brick wall. A proper bass!
  4. The cable they're using looks very similar to the stuff the legendary Pete Cornish uses in his cables - but his (fantastic) cables are a third of the price... I know which ones I'd rather buy!
  5. I've found the customer service from Digital Village to be exceptionally good - why don't you just get in touch with them????

    Pro Tools 8
On my Mac do i need to upgrade the operating system to OSX 5 Leopard to get Pro tools 8 working? Im currently running OSX Tiger 4.11.
I would think so - I was already running 10.5. If you go to the Digidesign site there'll be info on what OS is required...

    Pro Tools 8
Its nice isn't it. Lots of effort has been piled into the basic opperation and interface of it whilst sticking to the Pro Tools functionality. G
Yes - I'm VERY happy with it. Was well worth the upgrade price - feels like a huge amount of work has been put into it - not to mention all the new toys!

    Pro Tools 8
I have protools LE 7.3 with my 003 Rack, can it be upgraded to protools 8? or do I need to start from scatch with protools 8?
Yes - you can just upgrade. That's what I did. It just replaces your version 7 install with version 8. All the stuff you've recorded opens as protools 8 sessions - with everything saved & intact just as you had it in version 7 - but with all the new goodness... If you bought you 003 rack before October of this year it's a free upgrade - if not it is about £95. Which actually makes buying an MBox Micro (£150) - a bargain as you would get prootools 8 with this for free.

    Pro Tools 8

Just installed the Pro Tools LE 8 upgrade - quick whizz through.... WOW. What a difference. A zillion times better + LOADS of new plugins & goodies + 48 tracks (just started to hit the 32 track limit on some songs we're adding overdubs to - so very timely).
  11.
Is that something he emailed you? I haven't heard anything back! Si
No - that's what I'd be expecting as a reply!
  12. Weekend Bump! Make me an offer!
  13.
I've asked for photos, including neck stamps and pickup cavity etc etc We'll see what turns up! Si
'I'm living in Aberdeen at the moment - but if you send me payment by Western Union I'll send the bass to you straight away - with free shipping'

I mean, yes it's from the 70's and all, but the best part of 500 dollars for a pickguard? I think not.
Good old 'Tune-o-matic' - this is another one of his various eBay identities... A legendary dodgy (& offensive) character - famed for his insanely high prices for vintage parts & guitars. There's always fun to be had offering/baiting him $10 offers for his over-priced stuff - drives him nuts & will often result in a nasty reply. I'm sure we've had a few posts about him already (& on TB)???
  15. Very fast payment. Good comms. A genuine pleasure to do business with. One of the Good Guys!
  16. Fast payment, good comms - as always - a genuine pleasure to deal with! Thanks Nick.
  17. Nightmare! Andy Viccars in Milton Keynes has a huge amount of experience & knowledge with neck break repairs - I've seen some amazing work he's done on a number of Gibsons (notorious for neck breaks) including a '64 335 that was in a terrible state & now looks perfect - check this one out on his website. He'd definitely give you good advice... But I would start at F Bass - as I suspect a new neck might be the best (& maybe the quickest?) option.
  18.
I was lucky enough to pick up a '63 Precision in April and since then I haven't gigged with anything else. My poor Roscoe Beck IV is wondering what it's done wrong as that was my number 1 bass. The RB is still a fantastic instrument, but the P always turns people's heads with its punch and sweet tone and from a playability POV it's a dream.
Ditto for my '62 Precision - nothing else can touch it...
  19.
Yes he does, a 301. He was using it on the BBC radio 2 sessions that were shown on BB4 last week.
Sold an identical all black one on the bay a few months back (no takers here) - I think they look very cool but mine had a VERY fat neck which didn't suit me...
  20.
this does look quite pimp, is it SS?
Yes - these were some of the very first SS bass amps. As used by James Jamerson, Bootsy Collins, The Meters & many others back in the late 60's & early 70's. More info & original catalogues (very cool!) can be found here. And there is nothing more 70's pimp than a Kustom!
  21. Offers accepted - would really like to see this get restored & not disappear into my loft...!
