1. Damn, wrong colour, else i'd be contemplating a roadtrip.
2. From holding it up, this feels like one of my lighter basses. May just be that I haven't yet succumbed to caring too much about bass weight I'll find out for sure once I can afford some straplocks and get it strapped up, Feel this needs its own strap, though that's what I'm going to do when I can afford such expense for all 5 basses.
3.
"Specifications Liable to Change Without Notice" For most companies that's just a legal get-out, but with Aria it's a mission statement.
Haha, oh I see
4. Ohh nice okay, That being one of the first places i'd seen one of these first time, Feel daft i didn't notice it haha. Guess we'll never know if it originally had that fitted or someone got it off a Custom model
5. And seeing that blueburst with maple board, that's nice. but this one conforms to my current Purple/Red/Black colour options to control my g.a.s problem
6. The adjusters bear on the string yeah It does seem like there's something odd about the part with the adjusters, like it's a seperate bit that would explain why this particular looking bridge seems rare.
7. Those Dimarzio clip locks felt like they were screwed in with an electric drill into no pilot hole, least for the bottom one. But they're out now. and to add some strap locks cause I like big thick straps. and Those dimarzio's look rather small... haha.
8. And I've never seen your version of the micro adjust bridge. Finding pictures of another with the one on mine was hard enough haha.
9. Oh I'm really enjoying the pickups on this. Don't feel weak to me I don't think, compared to say the stock one on my Jay Turser MM or my Kit Jazz bass, which both got somewhat hefty upgrades. as I say it's my first proper experience with how different neck and bridge position pickups can sound separately.
10. Some closer pics I'll give it a proper test sometime to see what it can actually do, but yeah far as I know right now it doesn't do much. I'll see if putting them slightly out of tune and then adjusting those does anything. Case it's more perhaps meant for a quick mid gig tune up or similar *shrugs* I admittedly thought it wasn't an original bridge with that, cause I hadn't seen many examples with such haha. Not that I'm one to worry about such things and I bought this to play not to store Must get the strap ends off this cause I'm going to put some straplocks on instead, But the elusive right sized phillips head screwdriver eludes me at present.
11. Figured i'd up my post count a little more haha. Had this for a week and a bit now. Really loving this bass alot, Despite seeing these coined as "JapCrap" on here in my search for more info. Previously I was very much after the blueburst version. But upon seeing this come up I changed my mind in a instant Things about 5 years older than me, which I never thought would happen with any basses I own. Not sure what else to say about this besides it's finally taught me just how much difference pickup position can cause if these are both the same pickups and just the position changing Pics cause you all want them... don't deny it! Sat next to my Jay Turser which sneaked in shot haha. Didn't know these came with Hardcases before I saw this one. Battered and bruised but still serves a purpose
12.
Latest addition to the family, pretty much the bass of my dreams. Next week cant come quick enough!
that wasn't there long Must admit I'm very keen on another purple dingwall Z3 I believe they have coming in. Albeit at over 3k even selling all my current basses won't get me anywhere near haha.
13. Congrats on the new bass, Looks really nice . Single cuts are rather growing on me lately worryingly... Oh dear.
14. The main riff from black night, and a few of the other parts. Some 8th note pumping, and some scales. Luckily the last time I tried out a bass it was only the shop owner and I basically was just checking how the neck felt and the pickup position felt for resting on. About a month later I've changed the pup to a delano cause the old one was weedy. Going into a bigger music shop to try anything scares me pretty bad, Till I can actually pull better stuff out of nowhere haha.
15. And I wonder if i'm going to have space issues with a fearless f212 compared to a f115 on small pub gigs.... Looking forward to seeing/hearing this complete... I think...
16. necropost but figured in here it's not so bad. Bought a Delano MM Pickup from him Extremely good communication, and fast posting despite the easter weekend being in the way haha. Arrived as described and next day and works perfectly Cheers again Mike.
17. Or spray paint profanities on one.... would look the part
18. I'd Suggest a fearless f112/f115. May find it can fill the boots of that 2x12 fine. there's always the f212 which could be less cumbersome than that looking at the shape and what the weight possibly might be reduced by. Unfortunately not backed up by personal experience, but hopefully that'll change soon
19. I found that running a fingernail down the frets works, generally anything that it can dig well into is bad enough to cause fret buzz. Least that's what I found when I discovered what was wrong with my Kit jazz bass neck, a lifted fret at the 14th fret for the E and A strings, But YMMV and all that. But as Plunger said a visual inspection would pick that up aswell, just once I could not for the life of me spot it, so I tried that haha.
20.
Looking at the silk at the bridge, it looks typical of Fender strings. But I don't know of any Fender strings that use 2 different colours. They certainly don't seem like half-rounds, though. Definitely rounds, and probably steel. That (slightly) narrows the area that you need to search to find out what they are. I hope you find some good info soon
Well that sure seems like good info to go from so thanks I've got two or three certain packs, and now two or three makes to go look at .
21. Ah thanks, i'd read through that but obviously missed that. Well They're maybe worth a shot incase they've swapped round since then haha.
22. Hey is the musicman pickup still available? Any idea what the wires work as? Thanks
23. Did a search, couldn't find similar in any similar topics. So thought it'd be okay to post this. Well I've been playing about on my Jay Turser, and I must say the strings on it feel really nice. Now whether that's due to age as these look like old strings, hence I believe they were put on by the old owner not the shop. So I'm guessing they couldn't help. They possibly may be half rounds as these feel somewhat smoother than the roundwounds on all my other basses (Rotosound swing, Nexus, and Some Fender own Brand) Blue string windings at the headstock. And red at the ball end, and the ball ends appear silver in colour not gold etc. Some pictures. Just incase someone can point me to what these could be. And then I can find out personally if it's the strings themselves or the age. (Plus I can get the fretboard cleaned up, This girl has seen some action it seems)
