1. Or hell, a Greenboy from tricky audio fearless f212 anddd they can likely hook you up with a red grill still
 2. Jeez, that makes me want it as much as the Purple version did. But alas no funds GLTWS
 3.
As is the case with 96.8% of all Rickenbackers produced since 1980* *Source: NAMM / Gruhn's Guide / YouGov
The 3.2% being Lemmy's Collection. Though I have no clue if he has a proper collection of the one's he's used or if he keeps it small and simple.
 4.
I can afford one but don't want one so I don't know where that leaves me?
SANDBERGGGGGGGGGGG On the cheap Chinese copy part, My Jay Turser MM Feels lovely,Looks lovely, no sh*tty frets and other such things. And that's coming from second hand so it's stood the test of time it seems. With some hardware and electrics upgrades I'm pretty sure I can get it damn close to the real mccoy and fill the mm slot in my arsenal just fine, It'll never be the genuine thing, but It's a beautiful instrument none the less. Just an Opinion of course, from a guy very happy with his Sub-200 Bass.
 5. Oh damn , what a time for this to appear and I'm skint GLWTS however
 6.
We briefly touched on the fact that gigging stopped for some due to personality conflicts, uncool band mates and band politics. Just throwing this out there, when you audition watch carefully on how the members interact and communicate with each other ( beware these guys are usually on their best behavior when auditioning). Going to one of their gigs is always a good idea. A few other things to look out for;

Confirm their gigging history and future bookings
Their process for booking
Pretentious personalities
How long has the band been together
Personal changes, ( how long each member has been in the band )
Experience level of band members
Are the members married with young children
Why is the spot open ( if they bad mouth the last bass player consider it a red flag )
Know it alls
Your bass is questioned if it's anything other than a P or a J
Blue
Being at the other end of the spectrum so to speak and having my first true audition/try-out for a band in two weeks hopefully (Haven't had a date confirmed just yet) This thread has been a pretty interesting read on what to go for/avoid and such. I'll definitely keep this list in mind when I'm there, albeit I know a few answers already, And my warmoth will truely test the bass questioning part haha. So I must say thanks for compiling it all in one place about what to watch out for.
 7. Well I found out it was a loose part in the tuner, and the way that seems to supposed to tighten it and stop it being loose, doesn't anymore. Luckily I had my old Tuners from my Jazz bass project so I was able to substitute one of those for the time being till I can afford a full set of decent ones.
 8. I'll give that another look but I've looked at it and it seemed about right for the neck itself, and the buzzing isn't a metallic fret buzz. I've actually found out Holding the E Or G string Tuner peg, yet not the A Or D ones while plucking eliminates the buzzing. The G string tuner has been moved at one time and it's not sitting completely flush, So if I have some spare tuner screws I'm going to get that back to sitting level. Reason I need to track some spare tuner screws is because whoever moved it butchered the screw heads in two of them so I'll need to drill those out probably. I've got a feeling that's the cause of it, How It didn't seem to happen in the shop is anyones guess, but it might've happened then and I didn't hear it as easily as I do now.
 9. Thanks man Yeah it was nice to luck out on a decently built bass with the right colour which I can upgrade the removable parts of easily No sharp fret ends and none raised far as I can tell, so it plays nicely. Unfortunately I tried it this morning and whether it's the climate change from the shop to my house, or if it was there before and I didn't notice I'm not sure, but there's a pretty bad buzzing coming from the open strings, and I checked the first three frets and I can't see any of them being the source, specially as I know fret buzz and this isn't metallic enough of a sound to be that. I believe the nut is causing the buzzing, whether it's poorly cut or what I'm not sure. Any ideas? Least the nut's something I can get a new one cut and fitted, likely my first modification if it doesn't cease. Not so much annoyed with it as odd how I hadn't noticed it in the shop, Least it's a fixable problem that's with a part I can improve.
 10.
I got told by an engineer at T in the Park they use a secret hidden offstage guitarist.
Well sh*t, if that's true what's the feckin' point.
 11. Well my first new bass since my jazz kit 4 years ago. Caught this on a local shops facebook page, and I wasn't disappointed. Been wanting a MM style bass for a long time, But Cost and Rareness of Purple ones made this a difficult find. Feels really nice for the price, fit and finish are great, The join in the body is barely visible, I'd call it one piece if it weren't for being pretty sure I wouldn't find a one piece body at this range of basses. Likely few around anymore due to the headstock layout. Vaguely thinking of a pup upgrade with the Retrovibe Stinger pre-amp circuit to get close to the old MM sound. Albeit I'll put it through its paces properly tomorrow to see what the current one can do. Oh and here's the pics
 12. Unfortunately their Nottingham gig clashed with a friends wedding, Else i'd have given them a go live. Certainly intersting.
 13. Hey, you wouldn't happen to know if this cab can handle a 5 string well? thanks.
 14. Yup i've heard stuff like that. First time I had a nut pop off after taking strings off to restring and had no clue back then what to do, took it to a music shop, got the bass out and he sighed and said a Five stringer ey? All in jest, As for the changing bass for the look of a band, reason why i'm always taking my Warmoth to a audition/first rehearsal, If they can't accept her they don't have me on board. Simple as.
 15. I have little need for another bass currently, but as this is on end of line sale rather want to pick one up anyways. Just to get something with active pickups and it's not a bad looker either. Though I guess my true GAS is for eventually getting a Fearless 212 built by Tricky Audio, Hopefully before the year is out. Then whatever Amp I get to utilize the beast fully instead of 330spyder, Possibly a MiniMega If they do indeed end up this side of the atlantic as Gear4Music hints at.
 16.
Valiant guy or drunk madman, who cares. He didn't shoot anyone.
Amen.
 17. My Family has a history of hair loss, If I keep my hair till i'm "Too old" Well i'm going to ruddy enjoy it. And as for the story, I'm sure there's something we're not hearing, Like maybe he punched some guy being an arse to a lady. You never know.
 18. Funnily enough we only voted on the pickup choice, The control layout was decided out of sight. But yeah there was enough space routed in the back for it to be easier to add after-market preamp etc if you wanted to change pickups etc.
 19.
I was one of the 100, and the first I heard that it was actually produced and available was your post, yesterday..! I can't congratulate the manufacturing team on their communications skills; very sporadic, at best. As it happens, almost none of my suggestions were taken up (no surprise there, and I'm a drummer to boot..!), and I'd want to try one out before committing to purchase, but I think the basic error has been the insufferable delay in the whole project. A shame, as I approve the concept. Nice to see that it really did come to fruition, though; there were serious doubts at several points of the process. I'll be watching out for all reviews with interest. Well done on sharing your experience; enjoy.
Yeah being one of the 100, still going to try first, else i'll take my 600 elsewhere. It was just so annoying when our votes were delayed and such yet they were bringing out guitar votes and special runs seemingly every other month :/ ha. Ah well, by any luck I'll have a good bass that'll likely be my active pup one long as the cavities were made a standard size that a few companies have used. Albeit with a overhaul looks wise too maybe.
 20.
Voted for by 100 blind bassists... it looks absolutely hideous!
Nopeee I can see thanks.
 21. Alrighty then. Basses In: Technically it's just that my Jazz Bass Kit build was ni on finished finally, just needs fret ends sorting out or possibly a warmoth neck to make it feel as nice as my other one. Basses Out: Epi T-Bird. Due to not liking the neck at the time I thought she was better off moved on. Unfortunately I can't plan a warmoth fenderbird anymore but oh well. I can't remember if my amp swap was very late 2013 or early/mid 2014 but I'd say it's worked out to be a 2014 thing really. Amps Out: Ashdown 15watt practice amp Ashdown Mag 307Watt 1x15 Combo Amps In: Ashdown Spyder 330 Tube Head. Ashdown 1x15 Cab Ashdown 4x8 Cab Well I finally changed to a set up with side handles and it's sooo much easier to carry. This set up has versatility I hope I will be using very soon, that I previously didn't have so much. And on a personal note.. I realllyyyy wanted a Stack, and this is satisfying that desire nicely Along with the start of a pedalboard after tripping over the bloody tree trunks that are my morley and ashdown behemoth pedals. Nowww for the job soo next years can properly have a bass or two in What I've Learnt: I need to fill my five bass rack, it's sitting there 3/5ths full and it's depressing! I possibly have an Ashdown Addiction and may need help That I really need to practice, I feel i've only seriously been learning for 1/2 years out of the 7 i've had a bass for.
 22. A combo with side handles/inset handles over just a ruddy top strap handle helps a bunch making weighty ones easier to carry IMO. I don't know how many actually have them as combos but I know a few Ashdowns do at least. The Spyder/Touring ones come to mind. but they'd likely be second hand/ very rare new.
 23.
I think maybe my thread title was a little misleading. It was meant to be tongue in cheek as EB doesn't have a Custom Shop.
Oooh bugger my bad *facepalm* As i say it was 3am so when I couldn't find info on it, I thought maybe i'm not looking in the right place. Turns out I was being a dumbass But hey that's usual...
 24.
Rambling? Not at all sir. I'm only here 'cos I was on nights and I can't get out of the bloody things. They don't get any easier the older you get! You are spot on. That's the exact feeling I have after receiving the e-mails. I've sent another one back to them registering my disgust. The main sticking point for me is that if I'm going weigh out for yet another Stingray, I do want the SLO neck this time (think Fender J). They are like f***ing hen's teeth. It seems you HAVE to order them and for the spec I would like, it would involve a "custom" order anyway. It's interesting that their reply uses the words "custom work orders" when they don't purport to manufacture them. I'm at a loss with them. Customer desire doesn't seem to figure in their sales plan at all.
That seems even more confusing if the necks pretty common (Which is what i'm assuming you're meaning) why they can't for their custom work just get it roasted, pearl up the headstock, and get it done o.O Unless their "custom" shop basses are produced alongside the main production ones... which then seems to defeat the point of a custom shop. After playing an old housemates I think stingray i've got a slight hankering for one myself, But the frequency of purple ones turning up saves me from myself, and it sounds even their custom shop would be unwilling to just make sure I got a purple with black scratchplate with maple/maple neck... which i'm pretty sure is a rare production model anyways o.O .... Maybe i'll stick to warmoth.
 25. Sounds more like a "Take what we give you and shut it" shop than custom shop, and yeah your choices look like things i've seen on various options, surely they could just tag a certain body and a certain neck by the looks of one of their workshops on a video I saw recently. Plus that finish i'm guessing is a solid colour so even the headstock shouldn't be an issue. Seems profit and ease of running over customer satifisfaction for a custom shop to shy away from what sounds a pretty easy combination to get sorted, hell i'm guessing you'd be paying over what you'd pay if you lucked into finding that combo on a production version (I don't know that's even possible, obviously not cause you have to ask for custom). Sorry 3am so I maybe rambling. o.O
