  1. It's 34". Based in Exeter
  2. ***NOW SOLD*** I love these basses - I have 3 of them. They are that good. I have used this one in a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band, but I'm swapping this out with a Flea Jazz - purely for accuracy. Shame really, as whilst the Jazz is great, it is not as playable as this. Note that this is not the cheaper "Sterling" version. These are passive basses - but the growl and attack is there. The ability to consider series v parallel is awesome, so too is the "boost" function of the volume knob (push/pull). I use that quite often. These short scale versions stand up very favourably to the full size version - in no way are these "gimmicky". We actually tune to E flat, and this is absolutely fine even with the shorter scale. They are just so easy to get around on, and your shoulder/back may thank you. This comes with the really decent, fitted short scale musicman hardcase, and I can package it up in an appropriately sized box. Any marks in the pictures below are just fingerprints - not scratches! This is in perfect working order. I am based in Exeter. You are welcome to pop over and try it. I imagine ~£25 for P&P, but we can figure this out.
  3. Have a bump mate - these things are great
  4. Bought a mellotron mini from Ash. Couldn't have been easier or quicker. Thanks man
  5. That is beautiful. I believe this is a 30.5" scale length? GLWTS
  6. I'll find out when I'm back home on Thursday pal. It's definitely a small sized body - one of the reasons I've held onto this for so long is that it's so playable. I'll weight it as best I can.
  7. Top bloke! We worked out a purchase with ease. Buy with confidence.
  8. SOLD! And to a top Basschatter too.
  9. Car bill has now been resolved! However, this remains for sale - apparently, once your missus finds out that you're prepared to part with a bass, then it needs to be seen through to completion. So - I am now open to offers
  10. Yup! 34" scale. I see that you're in West Wiltshire. I'm in Exeter, so I'd be happy to arrange a meeting point roughly half way between us and knock off some of the price (as, I'll save on P&P). Drop me a PM if you're interested.
  11. Bump - this still needs a home
  12. I'm not sure that this comment is entirely fair or helpful? Perhaps it's best not to speculate on "one of these" so publicly - given that this is the only one? I assume you mean commercially available explorer basses. I've never played one of those - so I can't comment on whether the custom bass for sale here is even close to that neck dive, or those dimensions - I wouldn't be surprised if it was very different. In contrast, I am certainly very happy to comment on neck dive if asked, in the name of transparency and the general good nature of Basschat. And, yes - if you let go of the bass and stand in a T-shape, the neck will dive. HOWEVER, this has never been a problem for me, as my right elbow sits on the lower "horn" all the time - as a coincidental counterweight. That's the natural playing position for the bass, so much so that I had to go and check if this did neck dive - despite owning this for ages. Given that I have a shot left shoulder, and so almost exclusively play short scale basses, neck dive is a real issue for me. I don't have that issue with this bass - it's quite comfortable with my elbow on the lower "horn". Happy to answer any queries.
  13. ***PRICE DROP*** - now £300. Also, I am driving from Exeter to Oxford on Mon 10th, and back again Tues 11th July. I am happy to deliver it en route.
  14. I'd be happy to sort a time share..... I don't really want to see this gone!! I do love it, but the missus is pretty keen this goes...
  15. Haha! Well, I am popping up to Oxford (from Exeter) on Monday - I can drop it off en route? This bass needs to be played!
