1. Might be interested in the cab depending on price, IF you decided to split
2. As the previous owner of the cab (assuming it's that one Chris?), it's a Mark V cab (late eighties - http://www.quicksound.co.uk/articles/trace...mages/10-11.jpg), but I replaced the drivers with genuine Trace Elliot replacements around about 1992-3 (the old ones were knackered). Power handling is 320w (4x80w) at 8 ohms (not the 200w it says on the back panel badge). Great cab if you've a healthy lower back! (not me anymore)
3. Oh...and I only put the fan on high in loud gigging situations. Along with the pimpy UV light of course
4. Yep, always had to have my gain setting way-up. I think the inputs are the same too (ie. not passive / active).
5. Bassist seeks band: No timewasters No beginners No egos No attitudes No teenagers No guitarists who can't keep quiet No drummers who can't groove No singers who can't No bad timekeepers No shift workers No perpetual rehearsers No dellusionals No Yokos No indie shoegazing No dad rock No Brown Eyed Girl No clubs No backing tracks No smoking No heavy petting No bombing
6. Iba Akram on drums. I'd say 40ish people. Enough for a friendly atmosphere!
7. Some video of the night's proceedings
8. Looks like an exercise in spamming every band they can find (we've had a few messages via our contact form) and soliciting incoming links to boost their search engine rankings to me. But then I'm a cynic, especially when it comes to entertainment agencies.
I was wondering if anyone here in the London/Essex area has had any dealings with Yes Entertainments - www.yesentertainments.co.uk . My band is considering signing up with them. PM is fine if you prefer.
9. It used to be called Echo, opposite Motorworld. linky Don't get too excited about the gear - it's not my backline and I'm seriously considering taking the Wesley!
10. I'm stepping into the house band bass position for this inaugural blues jam night at Hyem bar on Chillingham Road, Heaton, Tues 15th June 8pm+. Bring an instrument (backline provided) or just come along and drink beer. I have no idea what to expect, except there's a short house band set and then it's open to anyone to give it a go with backing from us if desired.
11. A classic cab - well as regards my heritage anyway. I have one the same, must have been bought around 1984 from Windows in Newcastle. £104 if I remember correctly! Mine's now got a 250w Trace Elliot / Celestion 15" driver in it which perked it up no end - good, solid cab.
12. Yeah, you can upload any sound as a wav file and play over it. Drum loops, pads, FX, whatever. I've never tried looping a pad as such, but other loops are pretty seamless.
13. Last bump - say hello if you make it down! I'll be playing a Bongo 5HS.
14. My 2nd bass - a Westone Thunder 1a - came from Paul Garvey's. I think my brother and I got a Dr Rhythm drum machine from there around the same time.
15. One week to go bump.
An early shout-out for the annual Spangler Xmas bash. We're back in a 'proper' pub this year, so it's free entry and real beer! Rock, pop and soul from us lot, [s]and fingers-crossed some special guests too.[/s] plus a special acoustic set from Minnie and the Victors.
16. I own a TRB5 and TRB6. Used to have a TRB5II. Also got a BB1500A. The electronics in the II series are a little quieter, but the build, feel and basic tone of the Series 1 is (in my opinion) much superior. I also personally prefer the 34" scale. If you are offered a Series 1 TRB5 I'd grab it!! If the BB1500A electronics are the same as the TRB I hadn't noticed! I suppose it does have a similar mid-control pot. Standard TRBs are all bolt-on. The P (piezo) models go neck-thru.
17. My main band is going through a quiet period due to member work commitments, so I'm just pushing out the feelers to see if anything else is going. Ideally looking for a dep-spot with a working band or show. I'm reliable, experienced and a fast-learner. Have even been known to read dots. Cheors!
18. I have some Yamaha electronic drum stuff for sale. Would prefer to sell all together if possible, but if there's sufficient interest might split. All is used but well-cared for, never been out the house and works perfectly. Just add a brain of your choice for a basic starter kit, or add to an existing set-up to create a monster kit. This gear is a LOT more robust than the cheaper kits now on sale (Alesis etc). 3 x TP60 single zone drum pads 1 x KP60 kick tower 1x HH65 hi-hat pedal 1 x Dtxpress1 rack with some arms / fittings for above pads + cables. £160 collected from Newcastle or could drop-off on way to Coventry at Xmas if that helps anyone.
19. Interesting. I had a similar experience at the last NE bass bash. I think there should be a 30 min slap respite in the middle of the day. Or something.
20. Little-known but fantastic bass. Have a free bump.
