1.
TDPRI
TDPRI?
2. Monday morning, bump for the cup with the big ears, finally coming to the bridge!
3. eBay doesn't give you the option of describing something as "as new", or "like new". I don't have an issue with this, we know what he means. If something is genuinly 'as new', it shouldn't be described as 'used', which is the only other choice, as it implies not 'as new', if that makes sense. Just read the whole description of any item, and bid accordingly. No-ones trying to dupe anyone. Life's too short i think to be giving this guy a hard time over that, especially when there's far easier targets on the bay.
4.
Hmmmm ... over £3000 for a bass that was deemed an unpopular failure at the time, and was never revived as a design even at the height of the "if it's old then it's good" retro boom. I don't know if that's considered a reasonable asking price in the market, but surely only a very serious vintage Fender collector would pay it?
I agree, i think its a case of the seller pitching high on the initial sale, as its such a rarity, there's no benchmark on price. Its one of those oddities that could sell within 30 seconds at that price, or not get a sniff for 2 years at $2000? Not exactly a saturated market, neither is it everyones cup of tea. It would have to be almost free for me to be interested. I wouldnt mind a nice dot neck sunburst with the chrome covers though!
5. Wouldn't have looked at it for £1495, let alone £2195?!
6. Despite other comments remarking that the price is hard to find in the description, I still can't find it???
7.
Bought a 70's jazz pick up of Rick, he even sent it to me so that i could "try before i buy".... what a legend. Cheers Rick
Awww....schucks!
8. Responding to one of Andy's wanted ads, I passed a fully loaded body to him, for a project. Right timing for both of us I think, and by all accounts it fits his needs a treat. All good, great comms, easy transaction. Top man, would recommend anyone to trade with this guy. Nice 'n Easy. Rick.
9.
http://support.fende...5%29_manual.pdf
Thanks Jack, the price has just gone up now I have the manual!!
10. Is this really such a good price for an '80? I'm looking for another purchase, and would definitely consider a nice pre-EB Ray. But I don't see this as such a great buy at that price, especially in black. He's had it a while and i didnt give it a second look, until i saw this thread. I guess I'm wrong, having seen achieved prices of these over the last 2 years, I don't think so. Having said that, I know Andy, top guy, and it's his business, so there's profits and costs to cover, and factor in. Don't get me wrong, its a lovely looking bass, nice example. For me, I'd rather pay a little more for an earlier one, in a more desirable colour.
11. Price drop. These have to go. Don't make me break them up, I could make more selling the speakers and badges seperately, which would be a crime!!!
12. Offer on the table, but hoping for more...anyone??
13. Still here, although could be gone by this evening, if i don't get a better offer??
14. Nice work, looking forward to seing this one develop!
15.
This is a beautiful bass
Thanks Stevie, it's a fine looking, and playing bass.
16.
Bump - no offers yet, you never know, I might take a (large) block of cheese!
How large is 'large'??
17.
Like I said any public discussion of pricing is cool with me as I have no idea what it's worth. I thought you may have been referring to something else... maybe Fender Acoustic Basses aren't great or something. I will re-consider the asking price in a couple of days, but I did hope that people would just offer me what they think it's worth.
Not at all, I'm sure they are excellent acoustic basses, no doubt at all. I'm sure you'll shift it soon. Not a great time for selling gear at the mo though, but hopefully you'll get a buyer.
