Had one. More than I need. Not looking for a multi-fx. Well it does the headphone amp bit, but nothing else... Had one. Suppose it's a possibility... I'll look into that one...

At 300 quid it'd need to! WAY over what I want to be spending...

Hi guys, I'm currently using a little Behringer Xenyx 302 mixer as a glorified headphone amp but I'm looking for something a bit smaller that I can leave hooked up semi-permanently on my pedal board. Any suggestions? As small as possible, run from pedal supply, aux in are all necessities, xlr/jack combo input would be great, volume for each input ideally... Edit: I realise I'm basically describing a Darkglass Element, but I'm looking for something WAY cheaper than that...

Rattle can of nitrocellulose paint, mask off the wear you want to keep and paint away. Bit of a light sand/blend work with VERY light sandpaper. Different colour with wear intact...

I've never found a passive PJ where I liked the sound of the pickups mixed. The 2 different pickup types just don't play well together without a preamp to buffer them and stop them interacting in strange ways, IMHO, YMMV. Active PJs I have no problem with at all*. *Edit - actually that's not entirely true, active basses with passive pickups sometimes blend pickups passively before the preamp. Those are pants as well...

I'd second the Roland Cube 30 and add the Line6 Studio 110. Brilliant amps in almost every way. The Roland is easier to find used in my experience. Not a fan of the small Peavey or Laney stuff myself.

...And a footswitch to follow by reading the manual... Looks like it could be a great tool, but there are just too many things not to like about it just at the minute. I wouldn't be an early adopter...

+1 to that... No "X" option in the drive section seems a bit of an oversight... It'll sell like hotcakes I would imagine though...

Looks like solid pine... Couple of coats of primer and a lick of a funky coloured paint and you'd be "on trend' again... Edit: We have an almost identical one in the wee fella's bedroom!

There are quite a few. Not that they're better than what I have now, but GAS is a never ending struggle... Lakland Joe Osborne Ltd Ed. It sounded SO GOOD, but it had a skinny jazz neck that made my hand cramp... But it sounded SO GOOD! Dingwall AB1 (whalepool burst with blacked headstock and neck pocket). Can't think why I sold that one. Would have it back in a heartbeat now, more because if I still had it I probably wouldn't be hankering after a D-roc 5 string so much... Wal mk1 Custom. Didn't really like it, but look what they're going for nowadays! Squier SQ Precision that I bought for buttons and sold for 2.5 times as much. Sounded brilliant. But I made the mistake of playing it next to a 64/65 P bass which made it sound and feel like a toy. Sold it the next week. Missed it pretty much immediately... ACG Recurve 4 string. I'm terrible for wavering back and forth between 4 and 5 strings. This went when in favour of keeping my 5 string ACG... Should have kept it! It's still around here somewhere (or possibly the Facebook ACG group, I can't recall right now). Wouldn't be the first time I've bought a bass back... ACG "cricket club" Finn P bass. I did buy this one back, but it's seen minimal attention since and I think there's a cull coming that it won't survive. Warwick Corvette 4. Lovely bubinga body and wenge neck. Sold my Wal and replaced it with this. Sold it when I was a bit strapped for cash. Unfortunately Warwicks were a bit out of fashion at the time and it went for 300 quid... I was going to say I've never let as good a bass go for so little money, but the Squier SQ above sold for less...
