I know the problem! If you change your mind on the mini/Jr swap I was thinking of moving to a mini from my Jr.
Sooooo - I've changed my mind about the bigger board (again!), and gone back to the PT Mini! Really happy with the pedals, just can't fit all 6 onto a mini, and a PT JR just seems too big (especially as I walk to practise)... so the OC-2 can live on the floor
Pedal arranging must be really annoying - from that pic you'd think 1 more would fit on there! Top mount jacks for the win!!! Surely 2 of those straight through jack connectors would allow you to put the 2 mxrs closer and tuck the oc2 right up next to the tuner?
Probably the power supply as it might not have been designed for low noise applications, although you don't need to spend loads to get a quiet one. I have a Johnnyshredfreak power supply that served me well for years, very similar to the Diago one. They don't sell that model anymore but do this for less than a tenner: http://www.pedalstuff.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=336&zenid=ec7e9be36c6fd4164691ac6a3bd2ebeb No idea if it's any good though! You could also give http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/power-supplies-8-c.asp a go.
Don't buy the first one! That's 9v AC!!!

That's Spencer, Mr 3leaf. Can play like that AND builds awesome pedals!!! Not jealous, honestly... My only issue with the proton was the fast decay time on the v1 model. The next model had an internal switch to move between a fast and slow decay time and the current model has a dedicated decay control. Only thing I'd add is a blend control, but then you're into a GR2...

One of the 3leaf filters might be up your street. The Proton is Spencer's take on the Mutron. The Wonderlove is based on the Lovetone Meatball. Previous versions are the Groove Regulator or and GR2. General consensus seems to be that although the Wonderlove is much more tweakable, and has the same sounds in it as its predecessor, the GR2 requires a little less digging to get the sounds you hear in your head. I have had a proton in the past (the first version) and currently have a Groove Regulator. If starting to look again I'd be checking out the current version of the proton (usefull upgrafes on the original version) or the GR2. The wonderlove has more features than I'd need. I've tried a few of the end filters and although the big box qtron sounded amazing it was HUGE and needed 24v. The mini qtron is nice but still big and there's a big volume jump when it's engaged, same with the micro qtron. These can be modded to fix the volume jump issue though. Maybe the best advice is try all the ones you like the sound of and don't take other people's word for it - filters are a very individual thing.

Good luck finding it! I've often considered selling mine but never bit the bullet as it's such a nice gigging bass, even if I'm more a 5 string/precision player these days.

It'll be an envelope filter for you next, and then there really is no hope for you! Never tried the aguilar octave but had the mxr briefly. Didn't like it at all, although it seems to work really well for some. Now have a cheap chord octave (an oc2 clone, £20 from the classifieds here) and it works fantastically for me!

Bought Tony's EHX headphone amp. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.

If all else fails I can fault find and repair it for you if you pay postage and parts...

Ho ho! Meatball clone (mostly) working! Haven't had much of a chance to look at it for a few weeks. Unfortunately the inverting gain stages I've added on the hp and lp outputs aren't working... Something to have a look at tomorrow. Should be something simple (he says with fingers crossed)! The bp output sounds pretty good although not as fat as I'd like - so lp is where it's at for me I think.
I'm a fan of etching, so 99% of everything I do is etched, with a lot of bare metal showing on the finished box - others are not so keen though! Good luck with it!
Was looking at your build blogs on your website. Really cool stuff! What type of paint do you use to fill your etchings (on the Like Rome pedal for example)? Enamel?

And once again a delight to deal with!
You know you need a tester for your Meatball clone And for the SFT clone too
Once I have them boxed I'll shout you G! Jnr no. 2 arrived on Friday morning so I'll probably not get an awful lot of chance to make proper use of them for a while!

Yeah I'm all for north facing jacks. Landscape/portrait I'm undecided on. Looking at 8 controls on this thing so if they fit portrait with north facing jacks all the better. The DI is maybe a bit ott, but if there's room I'll stick it in. My only DI pedal is an mxr m80 and it's just a glorified distortion/eq at the minute as the DI has given up the ghost...

I've been mulling over an idea... Like quite a few folk here I really like the sound of my Ashdown hyperdrive, but not its size. Had looked at cloning it, but having traced out most of the circuit it seems overly complicated to me. So my thoughts turned to a work alike design. Blend/bp filter/distortion. Then my mind wandered a bit further. Why blend the distorted bandpass signal back with a totally clean signal? Why not add a nice warm valve-sounding drive option instead, like the sft I've just built but with a mid control too. Also thinking of a DI out. All in a Hammond 1590BB. Any thoughts?
Octave and fuzz in the effects loop for a winning good time!
That's the plan once I have the thing working. Haven't wired the fx loop yet - just something else to be getting in the way at the minute! Once it's up and running there'll be a chord octave and my knobless fuzz (mastotron clone) going in there.
-
Gk3b and Roland v-bass is the closest you're likely to get. Like Ped of this parish, you could have the pickup installed permanently which helps the look and ergonomics of the thing, but the tracking is excellent and the v-bass sounds are pretty authentic. More a pedalboard than a stomp box but has amp models and effects on board too.

Samuel replied to my wanted ad for a micro thumpinator. Price was really good, but comms were a little lacking after payment and shipping was a little slower than what I've come to expect from a basschat transaction. Still the cheapest micro thumpinator I've seen anywhere though!

The meatball clone still didn't work due to my inability to tell anode from cathode - had the LDRs installed backwards! Hoping to make some "bow-chicka-wow-wow" and "wiki-wiki-wah" noises with it tonight though...
