1. Soak overnight in meths. Works a treat. Used to boil them, but meths is better.
2. If you can find a box for shipping it I'd be very interested...
3. ...must ...resist
4. Further price drop. Now £500 plus postage.
5.
I'm collecting a s/h Barefaced Compact on Saturday (cheers Mace!!) - can't wait to try it out with the Terror...
Supposed to be an epic combination that!
6. Hadn't given that much thought really! Same price as other aftermarket necks I suppose. 150 to 200 I think.
7. Can anyone suggest where I could find an aftermarket precision neck with a 1 3/4" nut width, 7 1/4" radius, 60s profile? Apparently my left hand likes the extra 1/8" muchly!
8. Tech Soundsystems 4*12. A religious experience! Alas too much for my needs now. Thinking of a fearful 12/6 or Barefaced big baby (possibly a tks 1126) to replace the Tech. Should cover all my future needs!
9. +1 on the Squire CV series. Personally my best sub £200 buys have been an SQ series Squire for a ton, which I stupidly sold, and an Ibanez ATK700 (£130 I think), which I sold to a work colleague who wanted to learn to play. Although they were both a little knocked about (well worn in the Squier's case and just downright abused in the Ibanez's) they were perfectly serviceable instruments, either of which could have been my main bass with a little tlc.
10. Awesome pedal. Not playing enough to warrant it though...

NBD!?!

If it's that good why modify it?
12. ATK, no question
13.
funny eh? someone posts then someone else posts funny or what?
I must be missing something...
14. This I know
15. Aye they're nice, put the acquisition of 2 laklands in 2 weeks means something's got to give.
16. Strangely the LB550 DOES have a gain control (agreed the LB30 definitely doesn't)...
17. Received this in trade recently, but Jazz basses aren't floating my boat nowadays, even when they're this good! Really, really comfy neck, more meaty than most jazzes I've tried. There are 2 small dings on the neck, one on the headstock volute and one on lower edge behind 9th fret, but neither can be felt during playing. Little bit of finish missing on top edge of fingerboard around frets 1 or 2, other than that it's about as minty fresh as a roadworn bass can be! Weight is around 9 1/2 pounds using the scientific "weigh yourself with and without the bass" method. Looking £500 plus postage (decent quality generic hard case included). Trades: bass-wise, i'd definitely go for a 50s Roadworn P in sunburst, but not much else Non-bass trades: interested in a ps vita with all the gubbins, or a recent iPad (wifi 16gig preferred). Obviously cash my way. Pics here: http://s38.photobucket.com/user/Bigwan2062/library/Roadworn%20Jazz?sort=3&page=1
18. How freaky is that...
19. Would the 1126 be roughly equivalent/have the same tonal goals as the Barefaced Big Baby or fEARful 12/6?
20. Tanglewood/Overwater Classic?
21. Check out MarloweDK's YouTube video about his 4 finger picking technique. He plays a very similar octave riff to this as an example.
22. Just traded a bass with Dougie. Nice smooth transaction, great communications. All good!
23. I can only think of this happening to me once before (by the Scarbee Celinder) but today was totally out of the blue. While visiting a chap to trade a hard case for his compressor pedal, he let me play a p bass he put together himself (He'd mentioned it in our communications and that he liked working on guitars). It was without a doubt the finest p bass I've ever played, and I've had some nice basses through my hands. Being this guys personal labour of love, I know it'll never be mine and it's already driving me a bit mad! This ever happen to any of you?
24. Ah balls... If this had been here a fortnight ago... I've gone and bought a Lakland 55-64, which I don't regret, but this would have been perfect.
