1. This is a genuine, no bullsh*t loft find. 1990s Kahler 4-string Bass Forward Saddle Tremolo with all screws and bits complete. The only thing missing is the routing template but I guess you could get one from Kahler if you need it. As new, fitted to a home built P Bitsa for a few months of home use only a long time ago. Never gigged £150.00 posted to UK addresses.
 2.
Here's a classic from John Prine: Woke up this morning, put on my slippers / Walked in the kitchen, and died...
Clever guy was John Prine; he wrote songs after he died?
 3.
Reverse psychology blues... Everything... Everything's gonna be alright this morning. Mannish Boy by Muddy Waters
Yup, but the fact that I woke up this morning is the ultimate in good news as far as I'm concerned.
 4.
MK's a genius - people will realise one day.
Agreed.
 5.
"....First line or sentence" and now verse, clearly.
Romeo and Juliet needed the following verses to understand the full poetry and beauty of the first line, IMHO, of course.

 7.
... it will be fraught and seat of your pants stuff, for sure.
PM incoming.
 8.
Cutting teeth as in standard track that you spend ages and ages learning in your bedroom. I'm old enough to have to have done this with a record player and we just played it over and over almost wearing the record out. As a school kid, I learnt all my early catalog like this...endless repeats of a record. You and me both. and it was with the ubiquitous rhubarb and custard Dansette, too. The 'monster jam' really referred to the singer/MD starting it on the piano to create the vibe and the band just all fell in so no one knew how it would go until the '1' as it were. My role was just was just to riff it and keep the groove.. and IIRC it morphed into 'Low Rider' when the Band Leader cut down the band and just segued into Low Rider after teaching me the riff... I already knew it in my head but for Theatre...as that is the way the gig was going, he played the riff... told the audience he was going to teach me it..and then let the song go.. I did do a little solo...as did the rest of the band. It lasted about 15mins and we ran massively over time... but a great gig was had by all.
Sounds great and interesting. Did you record it? coz I would love to hear it.
 9.
But the track is perfect for a Delta funk band ... We did this just the other day... Monster jam and went down a storm..but you need a good band leader/MD. Cutting teeth tracks...
Two / three questions; You did it as a Monster Jam the other day - did you keep the bass line as simple as this or was it tarted up in any way? Do you mean "cutting teeth tracks" in the sense that they are thought to be easy?
 10. That's great stuff but shouldn't he be playing it left handed? Grabbing my coat now......
 11. Mrs Jazzneck and I have been listening to The Temptations 'cause it has been hissing down outside. Two tracks for me are absolute standouts as wonderful songs, arrangements and production. The thing that hit me smack between the ears when listening to them again today was the absolute simplicity and discipline of the bass lines. Have a listen: https://www.youtube....h?v=YNn361umypM https://www.youtube....h?v=pJV2pWFyfn4 I've now sat down and played along with them - not easy, methinks, to keep that groove and accuracy on a wet afternoon. What do you lot think?
 12. TB 500 and Barefaced Retro two10 with a Limelight P bass - perfection in my book for most gigs. For a super sized gig when PA is required I go via a Sansamp VT Bass DI into the PA (split signal into TB500 / BF for stage use) and ask the sound man, very nicely, not to mess with my settings. Relatively cheap, very light weight rig that fits into the boot of my car and can be loaded in and out in one journey. What more can a 66 year old git ask for?
 13. Classic gear, how good was it really? This good.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsMpHHSLSlc
 14.
Led Zep did what they did for one reason. . . . album sales.
I beg to differ. I was present at The Marquee in 1969 when Jimmy Page, JPJ and Peter Grant were asked by a senior BBC guy to do a couple of numbers live on TV. The answer was a definite "F.OFF, you lot haven't a clue how to get our real sound out there" or words to that effect. Perhaps album sales may have come into the equation at a later date, I dunno.
 15. There was a reason that Led Zep wouldn't appear live on TV or radio in the olden days. The sound engineers wouldn't / couldn't translate their live sound accurately onto the radio or tele. which, as previously typed, were in low power mono with crap speakers. The live sound we had in those days was different because bass players were bass players not frustrated lead guitarists, but that's another can of worms. Runs for cover whilst stating that my 1968 Elgen100W head through a 2015 Barefaced Retro210 (which replaces the Vox T60 cab I used with the Elgen in the late '60s) is the closest I've got to the ideal sound in my head. . I wonder how this rig would have come across on "The Starkicker"?
 16.
First double bass gig in three months. Only managed half the gig and now have a blister on my r/h index finger. One more double bass gig in the diary and one more electric and then I retire (not really, just no-one seems to want to book me anymore so the only gigs I get are the ones I arrange).
'twas a good evening though. Thanks again.
 17. See below - I went from a V4BH and Classic SVT 4x10 cab to Orange and Barefaced and haven't looked back. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
 18. Just ordered the book. Keith Ferguson: Texas Blues Bass by Detlef Schmidt. then found this on the Tube. https://www.youtube....h?v=cIvijt3-poo Has anyone read the book yet? Comments?
 19. Strange, I've had great dealings with Jason unless there's a clause in his contract with Dunlop limiting him as a retailer to the US only. I've bought a set of La Bella super long black tapewound strings for my AEB-1 from him. Strings for this bass are like rocking horse poo with embedded hens' teeth and are only available from him. Yesterday he posted 25 sets of D'Addario guitar strings at a ridiculously reduced price (eBay ad) to me. Did you go direct or through his eBay listings?
 20. Perfect transaction - thanks Lozz.
