Hi all. So I need a little cash, (vans turbo has gone) but need to keep a micro head for my smaller gigs, and I`d really like to try the Ampeg PF500. Which is why I`m selling my MB2. I`m after £350 posted to mainland UK Pics. I`ve been using an old dell laptop bag which carries it perfectly with room for power and signal cables and it`ll come posted in that in a box. MM

Is the Ampeg B410HLF ok to use with SVT 2 Pro head?
Monckyman replied to daveparker123's topic in Amps and Cabs
The 410HLF is also a 4ohm cab so you could use one of those. -
I just bought a Gigbag from Dean and it was a hassles free and superquick experience! Thanks Dean. MM

I`m just settling in to my new band, and I must say compared to the dance band I`m in it`s almost too easy. We are bashing out songs none of us have played, to see if they work and they`re actually sounding pretty good. We don`t seem to want to go home at the end of rehearsals either, being happy to chat or keep playing. The dance band took months to get a set together and they still sound nothing like they`re sposed to,mainly due to laziness on the keys part. It`s actually a chore keeping them in a rehearsal for longer than 90 minutes. Blademan, good luck with it, and I hope it continues to be fun. MM

I have a VT1 by Dave Hall for sale. I don`t want to sell it but I need the cash for an amp upgrade. Even so, I wouldn`t be selling it if I hadn`t bought an Ampeg svp valve pre-amp which now provides all the valves I need. Doesn`t fit in my gigbag like the VT1 though This pedal adds lovely valve goodness at even very subtle settings, it adds grind at medium settings and gets nasty at hard settings. It has very simple controls that make for easy tone finding in a "set and forget" type use, to add that valve front end to your solid state amp,and the volume and treble boost switches are really useful for setting the unit as a dedicated overdrive. Made simply but with quality components this unit will last forever. The valve is easy to swap out so you can have a bit of fun trying different tnes/types out. At present there is an Electro Harmonix 12ax7 fitted. This comes with a good quality 12v power supply. A quick google will throw up many excellent reviews of this pedal, here and in the U.S I`m looking for a quick sale @£50 posted to mainland UK MM

Liked it, I don`t usually. Good tight rhythm holding it down doing all the right things. Congrats.

All my notifications were mysteriously disabled around the time of the facelift, might be worth checking all your personal settings again. -
Congrats, it`s a really nice feeling owning an upright. Now go and talk to your bank manager because you will need strings, a bridge (probably) and a pickup (inevitably).

Usual wine bar residency. turn up at 8.30 after picking up the singer and her cousin(you don`t mind do you? Not out of your way is it?) Yes it bloody was. Drummer who usually uses a Roland TD something kit, has a full accoustic kit. So I have about 14" between his crash cymbal stand and the keyboard player. Everytime I moved I hit my bass on the stand or my right elbow on the keyboard.Bt Back is pressed hard against my bass cab. Ysual unrehearsed poor intros and furious shakes of head by said drummer to "Keep going" when the end of a song approached. He refuses to add another 3 songs to the set and insists we stretch out all the others. This leads to confusion and boredom on my part. It was the new singers first gig and she did OK, I supplied a music stand so she could crib some lyrics if needed.she needed. Drummer starts the countdown after a panicky "have you got the time??" The count went "10,9,...6,5,no wait!... erm 5,4,3,2, happy new year!" A drummer that can`t count? Surely not. I didn`t enoy it really, and missed the company of people I liked. Got out of there asap after collecting cash and tearing the now seriously pissed singer and singers cousin away from the bar where they were chucking back shots of Grey Dove vodka. (no, it`s ok, don`t mind me waiting here an all that..) I was supposed to go join some friends at a late bar but I wasn`t in a good mood and I had all my gear in the car etc. Went home downed two rather large Vodka and cokes and went to bed. The glamour. I just hope I don`t spend the fee too quickly

An SM58 tip. replace the basket foam regularly. They solidify over time and it affects the tone, making them sound duller and less responsive.
