  1. No, the previous, 9th or 10th I think. There was a Smiths band on and us.
  2. I was there last week I think, was Freezing apart from near the heaters
  3. A few weeks later and many many coats of beeswax. It probably doesn’t look much different in pics, but it does in the flesh, just waiting on a better preamp to arrive now.
  4. Was the barn Tucker’s Grave by any chance?
  5. Works fine, just sat about doing nothing. No psu. £20 posted uk only.
  6. I switched a year back and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done, for all the reasons already given. I use the KZ10s and a rolls pm50 as a more me box, also have a custom cable which carries both my guitar signal and my headphone signal. It’s just ace
  7. Standard wmc Christmas party for me last night, we play it every year, pleasant enough night, I was just glad to be somewhere warm tbh! I played my incredible SR1200 all night and my shoulder was killing by the end of a 2.5 hour set with no breaks, even though it’s super light compared to something like a fender. Im vaguely considering selling it and putting the ££ towards an ehb1000.
  8. Quite a drive to a barn in Somerset last night, rather nippy as you can imagine, and challenging acoustically too, but all in all a decent enough night, glad we decided not to play tonight tbh. 5B83290C-8D92-4C92-A451-870616F3DF9B.MOV
  9. And it’s done! The electronics worked first time! Which has blown my mind! My first ever attempt at wiring active electronics (other than idiot proof emg and East!) The set up is spot on, and it’s even lighter than my other SR500. The sound isn’t as good right now as the strings I put on are an old set, and the artec preamp isn’t as good as the stock one - but it’s not that far off!! I’ll keep an eye out for a better one to go in now it’s all together ill need to make a better back plate too. At the minute it’s a rough one cut out of an ice cream tub lid and wrapped in vinyl!!
  10. I think the best song (and Flea’s finest moment) is soul to squeeze, but my fave is stone cold bush.
  11. Yeah, it says sr500 1p-07 on the back of the headstock, they’ve had a few variants over the years.
  12. Oh I’ve studied yours lots was most helpful
  13. Sadly I was too late - you can imagine how gutted I was!
  14. update time, finishing is done, battery box is currently being wedged in, Jack's in too, but pickups are late coming, so everything is on hold till they show up. I was going to put some BH2s in, but now they are going in my sr300 and I've a set of mk1s to go in this, when they show up! Ive made a template for a backplate, my sound guy says he can make me a proper one, which is nice
  15. Decent little public/local gig last night, I just really felt like playing bass all day after playing a super boring solo acoustic gig the night before, so an up for it crowd and a great sound in my IEMs just made the whole night a pleasure. B0B7A6B2-0312-4F48-B12E-5BC67EFA4A19.MOV
  16. thanks, I think this job is somewhat beyond me, I've no meter and don't really understand what all that means, I've only ever changed pickups etc in passive basses before, I'll see if my sound engineer can help with this one, he works as a tech for a vintage guitar shop. I reckon trying to save the £ could end up costing more if I mess it up!
  17. cheers, its all a bit beyond me this active stuff, I might just snip the wires leaving the plug in place and then solder to the wires, I guess figuring out the colours will be trial an error.
  18. I know this should technically be in technical, but as it’s very specific and many of you seem to have fiddled with your Ibanezes…. I want to replace the power spans in my sr300e, but they are on a connector (3 wires) onto a board under the power tap switch (which I hate) Is there a way to replace the pickups alone (I have some Bart’s that will fit) or do I need a whole new preamp too?
  19. We did a private do in a place we’ve played loads, only to arrive and find that they had refurbished the function room into - yep - A giant bathroom. No soft furnishings, high angled ceiling. But everything’ was still eq,d to last nights giant bathroom, so it wasn’t too big a deal. First outing for my new SR300e. A tad heavier and less sophisticated than my sr500/1200s, but much nicer to look at 😂 IMG_0608.MOV
  20. Thankfully I’ve discovered that an old bass I no longer use had close enough screws, so that’s handy for now. just added some tea staining and a single coat of danish oil.
