1. The only thing that will dictate if a rig matches your bass is your own ears. Good luck and let us know what you end up getting.
2. A nice Trace Elliot combo would suit. Prob a 2x10.
3. Thought Precision's had a "thump"? "Growl's" only come from Jazz's.....or so Leo intended.
4.
Cue cringeworthy youtube clip of an American explaining why it's a dangerous combo.
Question: Does it matter that she is thick as sh*t? Answer: Er..........no.
5. Looking forward to the Youtube clip of Woots playing a shagged P!!
6. I wouldn't have called the change from C to Em awkward!! Its a natural interval being a major third above. It seems technically correct but wonder if it really assists, if it does, great.
7. Glasvegas....God help us!! Just a Joe Strummer lookalike yelling in a mic with a light rope on it,more Butlins than rock. Like to hear him try and sing without the overprocessed vocal additions!!! Guitarist did really have to bring his mini Manhattan rig didn't he??? More visual than ability. All in all, a load of old horse sh*t.
8.
Does this thread again illustrates the argument in favour of restricting the market place to more experienced members?
Or a minimum post threshold.
9.
For God's sake, what a pedant! If you email I'll send you a picture of anything you like. If you're not interested you don't have to post anything. It's easy. We're all adults in here right?
Best you review your attitude matey or take your bass to Ebay and PAY to sell it.
10.
From what I can remember, My Generation was recorded using a Dano I think. Anyway the story I rmember was that JE loved the sound of the bass but couldn't get the strings on their own so when they got dull or they broke, he had to buy another bass.
MG was actually recorded with JE using a Fender Jazz. The story re the Danos is true, but he used that on other early Who recordings.

12.
Effects...none ! lead to amp, the rest comes from the pinkies.
Totally agree. Like most, over the years I have spent silly money on pedals, rack effects and multis thinking I SHOULD be using them. All I have ever concluded is that they colour you basic sound even on bypass. Ive taken them out, got back my natural tone and sold the pedals at a loss. Never again.
13. Its not a fad for me either, the TC rig I have is perfect for my needs. After a nasty bout of sciatica last year, the Trace rig had to go. The TC stuff I tried sounded great, albeit very different from the TE. The cabs are manageable weight and the amp is a breeze to carry to gigs. As for volume, I just use the smaller 210 for rehearsals, which at times do get very loud, but the RH450 is never past 2/3rds. When the amp is running both cabs, its easily loud enough. Highly recommended.
14. This thread is what Basschat is all about. Nice one guys!
15. What about a Sansamp pedal or similar???? Advantages: No need to carve up the bass. Great sound tailoring Can sell it if you dont like it.
16. Often need to play an open string as I reach for my pint!!
17. The neck plate is F stamped. I can see it.

Jazz

My "keeper". Its a bog Standard 2006 MIA Jazz. Here it is being played by a bog standard player:
19. Reports state he died from cancer this morning.
20. Dont need it but...............I really like that!!
21. The seller obviously gets things back to front. I bet the scratches are actually in the top right corner and the bass comes with a HERFANNY case.
