1. Westfield are a great starter bass in my opinion... A few mates have had westfields in the past and when theyve asked me to have a look at them i thought the were pretty good for what they paid!...There worth the £99 aslong as u remember it is only a cheap bass! As far as the thunderbird westfield goes. One of our support bands used one... He played through a laney amp and it did sound very nice tbh..dont know about the playability of the thing but it sounded alright!
2. i never really had GAS for much until i came across bassworld!!! I did but not to the extent where i sit all day drooling over new basses! Damb u all!

4. Heres my stuff! fender jazz bass(with new badass 2) : Harley Benton music man copy: Not shown is my pedals and my wireless there all in the toolboxes that are on top of my amp along with leads and lots of tape/batteries and tools! Alex
5. thanks guys... In the end i didnt get the GIO...i wasnt sure about it so i decided to go to the music shop which is about five minutes from my house and try one...it was ok but the neck was a bit bulky & i thought and it just felt like a cheap bass! unfortunately i didnt hear the sound of it as the shop didnt plug it in but i thought it was good but ive already got a back up bass and i was just interested because of the price and i only would have got it if i really liked it! so ive decided to save my money as im hoping to get a new good bass (possibly a warwick streamer) at the end of the year! Thanks for all the help! Alex
6. i had the same problem in my old band...rhythm guitarist was crap but he was goin out with the singer and the drummer was crap and fancied the pants off the singer! In the end me n the lead guitarist just started a new band and didnt say anything as we had kinda fell apart anyway!
7. turn off your mobile, dont answer the door, change practise room, tell the doorman to ban them from every gig you play! if that doesnt work +1 on taking the good parts of the band with you to a new project!
8. both lovely love the colour of that EB!!
9. Go for it!!!! its a laugh + playing with other people will improve your playing loads!!!!
10. recently got a HB music Man...great bass for what the price!
11. Ok thanks, Well iv seen one in my local paper for £60 (the only details were:IBENEZ GIO BASS GUITAR)... I know that Ibanez make good basses and for £60 i thought it was a decent price for another back up bass! but i didnt really have any background on the bass so i thought id run it by u guys... anyway still not sure if im gonna get it... thanks for the help! Ibanez

Hey guys i need to know what anybody thinks of the Ibanez GIO...i need to know by the morning... Is this a good bass? Whats the going price for these second hand? What does everybody think of them? Any help appreciated! Alex

14.
His opinion is that signature basses/guitars are for newbies to spend all their money on a Bass/guitar for some mock of their favorite guitarist/bassist's guitar/bass. (Only the Geddy Lee Sig Bass is acceptable to him)
Why are they for newbies trying to copy someone...Geddy Lee has two Jaco Pastorius sig basses! If you really like Mark Hoppus and his sound why dont u just try and track one down and give it a go... If you like it and feel comfortable playing it thats all that matters!
15. definatelly Fender... The new Highway ones look great for the money! What kind of punk is it is it pop unk kinda stuff or proper punk stuff? If its pop punk what about maybe mark hoppus sig bass or mike dirnt?
16. i know he uses a line 6 pod and he also uses a sculpture sound switchblade... I dont know what it does though!
17. i have the same problem with my jazz and when i plug in my peavey or harley benton it is way louder...I dont know why it is but i also find that the peavey has a hell of a lot more low end... To deapen the sound try turning the bridge pickup only 3 quarters of the way up i find this makes it louder and gives it more low end. Its really annoying when im playing my jazz at a gig then change it. I end up forgetting and blastin the hell outta the rest of the band!
18. Legend! Does he literally just get a piece of sand paper to the neck to remove the finish? Does anybody do that?

22.
The white has discoloured nicely and it has enough superficial mark to give it character. The EMGs are superb. Like the guy at the Bass Center who installed them said: "more of everything, really, and no hum". I find the sound quite transparent; they let me hear how the bass itself sounds, which is VERY heavy plank of wood.
What style of music do you play? are the Pups more of a thin sound or can get they get a gritty?(if you know what i mean) better suited to jazz or rock lol
I see that you also are a man of good taste. For me, the only body/pickguard combo that looks right with a rosewood board on a jazz is white and tortoiseshell (and maybe lake placid blue too). But yeah... that Jazz is nice!
Yeah i bought mine in wine red and a few months later realised i liked white owell still love mine!
23. that jazz looks lovely! I love white and tort pickguards on jazz's How are them EMGs?
24. ok thanks well theres a soundcraft powered mixer on the bay for £155... I think im gonna keep looking around just to see the kind of prices different ones go for! And eventually when we get around to getting one ill have this thread and an idea of good prices to refer to! Thanks Guys! Alex
