2.
MB1. Stop worrying about it, f**k it off, Worry about your bass playing, and let the f**k**g singer worry about the P.A.!!!!!!!!!
LOL Im the singer and the bass player! Iv already got an SM58! Thanks for all the great advice! Ive seen a mixer on another forum for sale and just thought id ask just to get an i dea about things: Behringer SL2442FX for £200 Is this a good price? Is this a powered mixer? Is this a good powered mixer? Thanks again
3. Yeah thanks Pete! that was great! So your powered mixer will power the pa speakers without having a power amp? Basically what we will want to run into the pa is x2 vocals and sometimes bass, 1 guitar and drums! So TBH were not really looking for anything massive 300-500 watts is more than enough! i think that behringer mixer is the type of thing we will want, just smaller.. So if i was to get a powered mixer i could run that into Passive speakers and passive bass bins? Im still trying to rap my head around the monitor chain bit but thats not important at the moment! thanks
4. So i played a gig last night as a support act. We borrowed the bands PA. They used a power amp and a mixer linked to 2 speakers and a bass bin. I was just wondering as my band will be looking at getting a PA (eventually) if getting a power amp and linking it to a mixer is a better option than just buying a standard PA head and linking that to a mixer? Im presuming that a power mixer just provides power to the mixer. And the mixer does the levels? Bear in mind im new to the world of PA's. So what would be the better option and also how much could i get a decent mixer and power amp for? thanks Alex
5. dont know how much there worth but they sure do look pretty!
6. god that really is gorgeous!!! cant stop looking... if you ever feel the need to sell it...ur well wierd!
7. i dont like bc rich's but this does look nice
8. i like em... Fall out boy are good friends with them and grew up with them...there in there latest single too.
9. i understand what ur saying but it just seems like it doesnt make much difference which you get... You damage a footpedal(rack mounted) Your stuck with a unwanted effect half way through a song... But then again if a fx pedal cuts out you have no sound... I was just thinking that getting an effect pedal first would be better as there cheaper until you work out what effects your acctually going to use. Or can you get multi rack mounted effects? if you can then really it makes no difference anyway! Thats just MO anyway lol
10. ok cool, Well i will have a look at barts when i get aroun to buy em as i use alot of fuzz but i think ill prob get the basslines.
11. if using rack mounted effects wouldnt you still need a foot pedal anyway to control when you use it?
12. BOTH...used to use only fingers in my old band but since joining my alt rock 3 piece band i use a pick a lot more...for some of the grittier stuff it cuts through better.
13. i play rock so i really need a gritty(er) but low end punchy sound. Bartolini's (so iv read) are better for jazz, funk etc whereas when i tried a set of basslines i found they could get both types of sound... dont get me wrong im not saying bart's are bad i just think they will be a bit too smooth for the kinda sound im after.
14. ok kool... When after my holiday when i get some money I intend getting a badass 2 and some new pickups prob seymour duncan basslines as my pickups arent the best on my jazz and im quite heavy handed so my stock bridge is wrecked....but when i them ill give it a go!!! Cheers
15. i think i know what you mean about the pop (as though it just touches the pole on the pickup?) TBH i dont really like that sound it does my head in. But owell if it works for you thats kool. look forward to hearing the clips.
16. why not do what i do: get a multi fx and then when you work out which ones you really use the most and want to get a better sound for then get a single pedal : for example: i use a korg ax10b and only really use the fuzz so i bought a big muff and bypass the korg or use the compression on there...iv still got the different sounds on the korg if ever want to mess around with sounds when writing songs.
17.
Just looked it up on youtube. I never knew that! I just wish Mr Lynott wore his bass lower! It's so much cooler lookin lower.
Yeah i know owell if it worked for him who can knock it plus it makes his flares and platforms look so much cooler
18. Pus alot of shopes will have discounted prices around christmas time...why not just get the money and go out and try loads just after christmas in the sales!
19. +1 on the squire vintage modified jazz... If you really want a fender You can probably get a 2nd hand mexican jazz or precision off Ebay or off here. For a FUNKIER tone youre better off with the jazz as said above but its worth trying em both to see what you prefer. +1 on trying OLP music man copies. Flea used a Music man and the one double humbucker pickup makes alot of difference IMO. Again try alot of different basses. And look at second hand ones aswell as you will be able to get alot better than what you can get straight from the store.
20. orite kool neway again it looks gorgeous!
21. kool... is it not a fender then? If it isnt its a bloody good copy
