1. Seriously? Doesn't look like it to me, but I guess its just the color Thanks man
 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKkyUB9E83c What brand/kind of capo is he using, Anybody know? You can see it best at 2:16-2:22.
 3.
I use an SVT-3 Pro, which I also like despite its reputation as being under-powered. I believe Mr Hoppus also has a couple of them. Cheers Mark
Haha, thanks So I can substitue an amp with a bass head + cab? And I'm a big Hoppus fan lol
+1 for an SVT-3 Pro, I absolutely love mine, and coupled with the 8 ohm version of the cab you're looking at I really can't see me changing anything about my set up for a very long time. However, if you get the opportunity to try it all out first, take it - some people hate the ampeg tone. Also I thought Mark Hoppus was an SVT-4 man? EDIT: Realised there was a comment that could have derailed the topic. Sorry!
Yea, Ichecked wiki right now. It says he uses an SVT-4 I just checked and SVT-4s are 1.2k.....holy sh*t lol. How much are the SVT-3?
 4.
I use this cab and I get on with it. It's heavy but still reasonably portable and gives me the vintage tone I like. What amp are you thinking of using with it? Cheers Mark PS -- I take it, given the time of your post and the Guitar Center link, that you're in the US. You shouldn't have any trouble getting Ampeg gear at a good price -- we pay twice as much in England.
Idk, would it best to have a bass head? I was looking at ampeg heads but I'm not sure what to look for in them since I never had a bass head. I have a Carvin amp right now, but I want to upgrade to something better. And yea, lol. I'm US. Forgot to mention that lol.
 5. haha, its been awhile. Just wanted to say that I got myself a surf green mh bass about 2 months ago and I don't regret it at all. I love it so much and play everyday I def. recommend it.
 6. I need a new amp, and I was looking at the Ampeg SVT-410HLF Classic: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ampeg-SVT-410H...586-i1153162.gc Can somebody tell me how they are? I originally was thinking of getting an 8x10 but thats too much for me atm. Thanks.
 7.
Did your friend give a reason for his opinion. Has he played a Hoppus? I see no reason why a Hoppus would be a load of crap. I'm not keen on the styling, but I doubt it would be much difference between it and any other MIM precision apart from the jazz body and it has a great Pickup. Mexican Jazzes & Precisions are consistently very nice instruments these days. Have you seen the MIM Mike Dirnt Bass?
His opinion is that signature basses/guitars are for newbies to spend all their money on a Bass/guitar for some mock of their favorite guitarist/bassist's guitar/bass. (Only the Geddy Lee Sig Bass is acceptable to him) He's on the forums, I'll tell him to post later. I haven't seen the Mike Dirnt Bass, but I'll check it out now, thanks.
Hi, Just seen this Fender P Bass on Ebay , very good price might be worth a look , auction ends today though Fender P Bass on Ebay
THe only problem there is that I think they're only selling to UK :/ I'm in New York
 8.
definatelly Fender... The new Highway ones look great for the money! What kind of punk is it is it pop unk kinda stuff or proper punk stuff? If its pop punk what about maybe mark hoppus sig bass or mike dirnt?
Yea, pop punk. I want a Mark Hoppus bass, but my friend says they're a load of crap I'm a huge Mark Hoppus fan. My sig can prove that How are those basses?
 9. I'll take a picture of the two I snapped. I'll have them up tonight or tomorrow.
 10.
For Punk I'd go with a US Fender Highway 1 Precision or a Fender japan 70s Precision reissue. The highway 1 will get nicely mojoed up from playing wear over time. Sorry I couldn't resist - no offence intended:
I use like alot? I thought I only said it once where I said I didn't like my Carvin Anyway, I check the two basses and the Highway 1 looks nice, but it's not on zzsounds, guitar center, Samedaymusic, etc. Is it still being made?
 11.
Short question, Huuuuge answer. Give us a clue... What sort of stuff do you play? What don't you like about the Carvin? Pete.
Sorry Punk Rock The carvin is just meh...I hate the 5th string. I never use it and it just bothers me. I want a 4 string Bass but I'm only using the Carvin because we had it laying around and I've been playing tabs on it since December.
 12. I honestly have no clue which bass to get. I have a 5 string Carvin bass but I don't like it very much. Can somebody tell me whats the best bass I could get for like up to $850? Thanks.
 13. I believe I'm using .45mm picks right now, but they're not doing such a great job. I already broke 2 in half, and when playing with they, they shave off. I'm not sure if a thicker pick would fix all the problems that I'm facing now, but to get a better point of view on what I should focus on buying. What's the ideal thickness range I should buy? And is there a difference between bass picks and regular guitar picks? Thanks!
 14. Hi, I just joined. My friend from the UK (I'm from America) suggested this site to me. I guess his name is LethalLion here, because that's what he calls himself everywhere else. Anyway, I'm new to the bass and I'm self teaching myself playing tabs. I have a 5 string Calvin Bass, but I;m going to buy a new 4 string, but I don't know which to get. Any suggestions?
