Especially when added with his already 'clanky' sound. I think Dood has investigated/experimented with getting the Duff tone...

The way it's done in my line of work would be like this: Mic/Guitar/Bass feeds plugged into a mic splitter unit. 1 set of the splits goes to FOH and another set will go to the Monitor mixer for your IEMs. You could then connect the monitor mixer to a headphone amp. Yes I'm a geek and would love to see some pics please! Shame about the AFD100 as it is just a killer amp. When I saw Slash gig with the current line amp that amp sounded [i]REALLY[/i] good across his whole catalogue of songs.

+1 As an example I never expected to have got hold of a Fender Masterbuilt. Ever. Especially for the price I did... I put down to a sign of the times/economy. As said before a serious buyers market at the moment.

I think that it's just one of many factors that may effect the intruments tone but surely to most decent and well made basses it won't matter that much? I would never worry personally as the average punter at gigs certainly won't be able to tell the difference
