Just finished a run of five gigs on the bounce. Given my diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome a few years back I've had to manage my rest carefully this week but I managed it, and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

I did my regular Wednesday Bandeoke this week. Usually I take a small, light rig, for convenience as much as anything. However I watched Bass The World's review of the new Orange valve head yesterday, and it gave me a hankering to enjoy a proper amp. So tonight I used this set up and it was an unforgettable experience. A bass you can feel as much as hear, a tone to die for, it was worth every ounce.

You know that headless bass you never play because the tiny body pushes the neck away so it just feels horrible? Cheap, simple, removable fix. Going to tidy the strap end a bit otherwise there she is.

The Joyo has a slight delay between pressing the switch and the fuzz kicking in. It's a tiny bit irritating but the sound is so good it's more than worth it. I've never heard a better dirt pedal than the Hot Wax, and I've tried plenty. The Poly Blue Octave does so much more than you imagine an octave pedal could that I think of it as more of a multi effect. This board was very satisfactory.

I use the Harley Benton solderless ones after they came out very well rated for low noise in a test. They're fine if you put them together properly. The only downside is if you're like me e and chop and change pedal boards all the time they can suffer from being pulled in and out. Otherwise perfect.

Sorry I missed this. I used the clip on the underside of my strap so it's hidden. Added a cable tie just for my peace of mind.

I have gigged the HB both using the preamp and bypassing it. Never noticed any problem with the pre. Excellent compressor on board too. I'm always wary of the repeated online criticism of more affordable products. I recall Behringer bass cabs getting hit with 'my mate had one and the speakers all blew at the first gig' line back in the day. Almost every time they were discussed someone repeated it. I used mine for a decade or more without any problem at all.

Just scored an Epiphone shorty. Picked it up yesterday afternoon from FB marketplace, gigged it last night. It's this one and it felt so tiny! But it sounded and played really well. Glad I went for the short scale, there was a little bit of neck dive so I imagine the full length would be, for me, unplayable.
