Harley Benton Block-800B vs bugera Veyron 1001M
stewblack replied to KinkMaster's topic in Amps and Cabs
You illustrate the point with an elegant poignancy. -
Sorry I missed this. I used the clip on the underside of my strap so it's hidden. Added a cable tie just for my peace of mind.

Harley Benton Block-800B vs bugera Veyron 1001M

I have gigged the HB both using the preamp and bypassing it. Never noticed any problem with the pre. Excellent compressor on board too. I'm always wary of the repeated online criticism of more affordable products. I recall Behringer bass cabs getting hit with 'my mate had one and the speakers all blew at the first gig' line back in the day. Almost every time they were discussed someone repeated it. I used mine for a decade or more without any problem at all. -

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
stewblack replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
Just scored an Epiphone shorty. Picked it up yesterday afternoon from FB marketplace, gigged it last night. It's this one and it felt so tiny! But it sounded and played really well. Glad I went for the short scale, there was a little bit of neck dive so I imagine the full length would be, for me, unplayable. -
I gigged with it the day it arrived. It's so simple to use. I just set up a compressor, copied it onto the first half dozen slots and added one effect to each. Then pressed the right or left button to find which effect I needed for which song and either turned it on or kicked it in when I needed it. The envelope, synth, phaser, fuzz, chorus and octave sounds were brilliant. If I needed to tweak them it was a piece of cake.

It's brilliant. The ease of navigation and editing is a game changer. The sounds are superb. Honestly it's overkill to use any other pedal. I love it.

This got me. Beautiful, just beautiful 🤣🤣🤣

My Bandeoke board from last night.

I suspect that now I would format it more tidily. Even number of bars per line, chords above the bars, repeat symbols, etc

If you'd been closer you could have borrowed mine. But Portugal is a little bit far. -

Where are you based? -
Beats the heck out of me! I wonder if I posted the wrong picture - as you say that doesn't look bad. I'm out right now but I'll play through it and see what the problem was. Or if I can work out what I thought it was.

Harley Benton Block-800B vs bugera Veyron 1001M

Hi, I have both and they are both superb. Both are compact, light, and powerful. I honestly could not choose between them. Two top quality amplifiers at unbeatable prices. You'll be happy whichever you choose. -
I wish him a long and happy retirement. He has enriched my life beyond measure. His playing was one of the major reasons I wanted to play the bass.

Such a brilliant idea

100% recommend it. No pc editing is such a bonus. I can edit the sound instantly on stage like with any pedal. Also the pedal I want to turn on and off remains displayed which is a great feature. But above all the sounds are amazing

This was me. For decades. I started taking lessons a few years ago and my playing and understanding of the instrument has improved beyond recognition. Each to their own of course, but after a lifetime of trying to invent the wheel I now see the world differently.

What are you listening to right now?
stewblack replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
Last two days I've been listening to the new Larkin Poe album. 👌 -
Can't tell you what the first bass song was as they were all originals and long since forgotten. First song i ever learnt on guitar was Eddie And the Hot Rods, Do Anything You Wanna Do
