  5. I have the Ampero footswitch to add two switches for greater flexibility in stomp mode. Adding those three pedals will give you a killer set up!
  6. Sliding if not entirely off topic, at least topic adjacent. @Quatschmacher picture of his amazing tidy workstation got me thinking about how different we all are. Here's mine
  7. Feck. Either this is a massive bargain or I overpaid!
  8. Yes I use it. It isn't without its limitations - but then all pedals have those. I have to say it remains the easiest pedal to set up without recourse to a computer or tablet. It has fantastic effects and a couple I feel could be better - specifically the octave up and pitch shifts can be wobbly and pitchy. The touch screen is great, the overdrives, fuzzes, filters, modulation, compression and amps sound great. Don't use the cab sims so can't say. I've finally got the software to work on the PC and it's fine, intuitive. I owned the Helix and I don't know if the Ampero is definitively better, because personal taste comes into it so much. I've gigged with it as part of a pedal board and as a standalone. It's great as a stomp with the additional 2 button footswitch. I think it's great, but I haven't used it as much as other people might have because I'm a pedal board butterfly and keep changing up.
  9. I have an astonishingly ludicrous pedal collection too. But I enjoy building boards, most of which seldom get gigged. It's creative and fun and I learn about pedals a little more each time I do it. My 'Pedal option paralysis' is related to multi effects units. If I'm not doing everything they're capable of doing then I feel I'm under using them and they get shelved. It's ridiculous. If any pedal produces just one sound which enhances my overall sound, then its served its purpose. Take the Ultrawave. I feel overwhelmed by the possibilities, and bewildered by the software. So it sits on the shelf. Last night I just decided to find six compressor presets I liked, load them up and then select the best one. Can it do more? Yes. Does it have to? No.
  10. Ah yes. As it says in the bible "for lo the GAS cometh not cheap, and the Pharisees were sore afraid of the price of the GAS and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth but the GAS careth not a jot for the state of our bank balance. Hallelujah."
  11. Yeah, but the HB strings are, in my oh so humble opinion, absolutely fine anyway
  12. And I still read folk saying the first thing they did was rip off the crap strings 🤣😂🤣😂
  13. I have this one in the same colour. Isn't it gorgeous? You make it sing my friend.
  14. My back problems come from cabs not basses
  15. I have HB P basses which are incredibly well priced and they're not remotely heavy.
  16. BL arrived to find another band setting up. Promotor double booked us
  17. All the way into centre of Bristol I'm the rush hour
  18. How was my gig last night? Cancelled, that's how it was. 5 minutes from the venue when I got the news
  19. If you haven't played a Maruszczyk bass before, I can't recommend them highly enough. Extremely well made, great sound and a joy to play. And they look sooo good
